3 I feel that I deserve a spot on the Gene Borek Squire Cup Team for a number of reasons. I have worked very hard over the past few years at Maidstone. I am very proud to be a PGA Member in the Met Section. I have done a lot for junior golf here at Maidstone & on the East End. I have raised over $6,000 this year to support the Metropolitan Junior Golf Foundation. I am very dedicated to my work at Maidstone in many different aspects besides the normal hours at the golf course. Over the summer we had a Wiffle Ball Tournament with the juniors and parents, we put on a tick shot show for the families, & I even called BINGO at a family dinner night. I feel that I am a well-rounded professional that is able to bring my skills to all aspects at the club not just golf. My enthusiasm & happy personality is very important to have at the club. When the members come to the club they want to be greeted by people that are excited and always have a positive outlook on life. I know that if you asked any of the members at Maidstone they would say that I deserve to be one of the twelve for the Gene Borek Squire Cup Team. Thanks, Brian Blomberg,PGA Maidstone Club

4 I would like to nominate my Assistant Brian Blomberg for the Squire Cup team. He is a wellrounded PGA Golf Professional. His leadership at the club is tremendous, not only with the golf staff but with all the other departments throughout the club. He is constantly trying to get better and help those around him improve. Brian has great enthusiasm with our junior program at Maidstone. He has been running the Junior Tournament series for the East End of Long Island for the past couple years. We started this program 18 years ago and the numbers have been growing rapidly since he started managing it. Another quality of Brian s is his ability to adapt to different situations and work with the different personalities, juniors, adults, ladies, etc. He is able to communicate effectively with everyone. As a Head Professional it is great to have an assistant that I can trust in every aspect. There is nothing more satisfying than checking up on something and Brian already has it done. He is constantly thinking ahead and having a positive mindset in all occasions. I m also impressed with the fact that Brian makes time for tournaments to play in throughout the course of the season. I shake my head sometimes when he has one day off and he insists on driving to Connecticut for a Met Section Event. Even with our extremely busy season Brian always finds time in the late afternoons to play and keep his game up to par. In all of my years as a Head Professional, Brian really stands out as one of the very best. Some day soon he will make a great Head Golf Professional. 5 It is with great confidence that I nominate my Assistant Brian Blomberg for the Squire Cup team. Over the years, he has proven to be a well-rounded PGA Golf Professional. His leadership at the club is tremendous, not only with the golf staff but with all the other departments throughout the club. He is constantly trying to better himself and help others around him improve. Brian's attitude is fantastic, always looking to go above and beyond and find ways to make the operation seamless. Brian shows great enthusiasm with our large junior program here at Maidstone. I applaud his ability to adapt to different situations, especially with the different personalities between the juniors, adults, etc he is able to effectively communicate with everyone. As a Head Professional it is great to have an assistant that I can rely on in every aspect. There is nothing more satisfying than checking up on a project that Brian has already completed. He thinks proactively and is always one step ahead. Brian has personality qualities that a club like Maidstone expects and admires. He provides energy to the rest of the staff by being happy, energetic, & positive. Whether Brian is running a member tournament, charity outing, teaching, playing or merchandising, he is always handling it with the utmost professionalism.
