6 Easter WEDNESDAYS Kiawah River Egg streme Family Kayaking Hunt Wednesday March 28, 1pm - 3pm Wednesday, April 4, 4pm - 6pm $65 per adult, $45 per child (11 and under) The Nature Program is taking the egg hunt to the water! Equipped with paddles and nets, you and your partner will take to a kayak in search for eggs scattered throughout the salt marsh. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Footwear is required, flip flops and slides not recommended. This is exclusive for the 2 weeks of Easter and space is limited. Reservations required. Please call the Nature Center for questions or to make a reservation: EGGstravagant Easter Festival* Wednesday, March 28 and April 4, 6pm - 8:30pm Night Heron Park The evening is filled with family activities including jump castles, a photo booth, lawn games, roving entertainment, glow gear and crafts. Fort building begins at 1pm, the battle will commence at 2:15pm. Each team will be given all fort building supplies, water balloons, and a designated space. Prizes will be awarded for most creative fort and most sturdy. $15 per fort, Maximum of 5 people per fort, and 12 teams per event. Reservations required Discovery Series: Center for Birds of Prey* Friday, March 30, 4:30pm - 5:30pm Night Heron Park This program will provide an up close look at live birds of prey including a free-flight demonstration. Learn about the unique characteristics of these majestic creatures and the role each plays in the health of our natural environment. Blankets or chairs are recommended. 5

7 Jedi Training Academy WIZARDING WEEK Friday, March 30, 5:30pm - 6:30pm, Join our Jedi Master to learn the ways of the Force in this exciting program! Young Jedis will make their own lightsaber that is safe for sparring, receive lightsaber training and begin to learn the ways of the Force, face off in friendly competition, and even have the chance to face one of the Empire s darkest figures in battle to save Planet Kiawah! Tri-Wizard Tournament* Tuesday, April 3, 5:30pm - 6:45pm Night Heron Park Stage Bring your family of muggles, witches, and wizards to compete in our version of the Tri-Wizard Tournament. Wizard Academy Friday, April 6, 5:30pm - 6:30pm Calling all potential wizards and witches, Kiawah s Wizard Academy is open! Students will make their own wands, have a potions class, learn and practice some spells, and participate in wand dueling. They ll leave with their Wizarding Certificate and may just have to defend the academy from a villain! Recommended for ages 6+, advanced reservations are required. $25/person. Horcrux Hunt Monday - Friday, 10am & 2pm Put your wizarding skills to the test as you and your family go on a hunt around the island for horcruxes. You ll gather information along the way to discover a treasure worthy of a castle full of witches and wizards. This activity is on your own, advanced reservations are required. $30 per family. Teen programs are designed for ages Recreation staff is present; however youth and teens are not individually supervised. Meet at the stage to be outfitted with your team and take this game to the extreme! Roast some marshmallows and listen to the latest hits while making new friends and enjoying hanging out by the fire. These medium-sized, shorebirds are migrating from wintering grounds to the Arctic to breed. These birds may have flown more than 3,000 miles non-stop from South America to get here to recover for the final leg of their journey. While on Kiawah and other islands they will replenish their energy levels and fat stores so that they can continue another 1,500 or more miles up to the Arctic. Never allow dogs to chase birds. Disturbance of these birds prevents them from feeding and forces them to expend unnecessary energy, which may result in their deaths. 25 Pool Rules Pools are exclusively for Kiawah Island Golf Resort Guests, Governor s Club Members, and escorted Governor s Club Guests. All children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Swim Diapers are required for children not potty trained in all resort pools. Children must be 44 to ride the slides. Please have your child measured at the pool shop. Children between 44 and 50 will receive a wristband for access to the slides. Lifejackets, arm floats or any flotation devices are not permitted on the slides. Slides are for single riders only. Guests must ride feet first on their back. 24 Sliders must be able to swim and exit on their own. No parent/guardian is permitted to catch child or be in the slide zone of the pool. Maximum weight for slides is 250 pounds. Swim wear with rivets or zippers on the back are not permitted on the slides. All Kiawah Island Golf Resort pool complexes are nonsmoking. During the event of inclement weather, the pool may be closed for safety. Please adhere to all lifeguard instructions. Towels are to remain in the pool area. The use of spray sunscreen is discouraged. No coolers or outside food or beverage permitted at resort pools.

Night Heron Family Pool West Beach Pool The Family Pool is a Jr. Olympic size pool with an aqua sundeck, lounging area and space for lap swimming. The family pool is a great place to cruise around on your inflatable alligator or turtle and shoot some hoops! The pool is recommended for lap swim from 8am - 9:30am. Want to cool off with a beverage or grab some lunch? The Night Heron Grill, a full service, poolside bar and grill, will be opening on March 16 daily at 11am, weather permitting. ***Night Heron Family and Children s Pool will be closed from 1:30pm - 4pm March 31 due to the Kids Triathlon. Located at the West Beach Pool Complex, this pool is great for relaxing during the warm spring days. This pool is not heated. Lifeguards are on duty for your safety starting May 21; please adhere to all lifeguard instructions. Night Heron Children s Pool Night Heron Children s Pool features two amazing open flume slides! Sliders must be at least 44 tall. A large toddler splash zone includes baby bouncers and toddler gator slide. The pool s expansive beach entry and 27 interactive spray features, including water cannons and a 30-gallon dumping bucket, are sure to excite children and adults alike. Our creative themes, exciting sports and activities, and well-trained, enthusiastic staff work together to ensure a memorable experience for each camper. Kamp Kiawah is an exciting theme-based camp for kids ages 3-7 (Easter and Summer) and ages 3-11 (spring and fall). Camp Xtreme is a camp full of live games, sports, and team building activities designed for kids ages Drop-off times: Morning Camp, 8:30am - 9am; Afternoon Camp, 1pm - 1:15pm Reservations are required for all camps. All reservations made at least 12 hours in advance will receive a $5 discount/child. We observe a 24 hour cancellation policy, if cancelled less than 24 hours in advance, full charges apply. From sea squirts, to sponges, and even some oysters, these creatures are sure to keep everyone wanting to see more. Jr. Naturalist Native Step back in time and experience life on Kiawah Island as the Native Americans Studies-Going Native once did. Use your senses to observe nature and learn the importance of using every part of the environment. In this class, you will discover the local environment using techniques of the Native Americans while learning their traditions and WEDNESDAYS cultures. There are, however, some things to keep in mind when collecting shells, as they play an intricate role in keeping our marine environment in balance. 1. Shells provide a home for many animals once the original one is out. Hermit crabs frequently take them over, and many fouling invertebrates, such as oysters and barnacles, use them as a hard substrate to attach to. 2. Many shells have living animals inside them even if you cannot see them. Always double check by sticking your finger inside to make sure that no one is home before you take it. 3. Like us, mollusks use calcium from the water to help build their shell. As they break down and dissolve, it puts calcium back into the water for new shells to use and grow. Next time you are out looking for shells, think about taking just one of each species, or for every shell you collect, pick up a piece of trash. Private tours allow guests the freedom of scheduling and the ability to create your own experience. When scheduling a private tour, we ll make accommodations for all ages and ability levels in your party (even your 4 legged family members!). We have the ability to start when and where it s most convenient for you and can even come to your home, villa, room or dock. All nature excursions are available for private parties. The Ronald McDonald House approach has been to think globally but act locally by tailoring their programs to address the most urgent needs of the community they serve. The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston is a 27-bedroom home where families stay while their children undergo extensive medical treatment. Here, parents and children lead a life as normal as possible during their traumatic times, without the financial burden of costly hotel and travel expenses.
