3 GOLF NEWS Member Golf Event Saturday, March a.m. Our first Member Golf event of the year will be held Saturday, March 10. The format will be 2-Player Best Ball. We will have a 10 a.m. shotgun start and the entry fee is $15 per player. Call the golf shop at to sign up your team. We put on tiaras, decorated snowflake cookies, sipped tea and hot chocolate and twirled in our beautiful dresses. We were later joined by our special princess guests, Anna and Elsa from Frozen. 4 Let Cobblestone Park Take Care of Your Lawn With spring just around the corner, we wanted to remind you that we are proud to offer our residents in Cobblestone Park landscape and lawn maintenance. We have a great program similar to the golf course that many of your neighbors take part in that includes mowing, edging, weed eating and blowing every week. A spring and fall pre-emergent fertilizer, trimming bushes as needed, and an irrigation audit of your system every spring to make sure clock and rotors are working correctly all for a very reasonable monthly price. We can also put out fresh pine straw, seasonal flowers and perform irrigation repair for an additional charge. Let us help you to have one of the better landscapes in the neighborhood. The number of good golf days have been very limited. With that said most of us have been on the inside looking out. Spring is just around the corner so here are a few things you can do to quickly get back into golf form: Have a plan. For the full swing begin with a review of fundamentals that include grip and grip pressure, stance, posture and alignment. Taking a spring fundamentals tune-up lesson is never a bad idea. Start slowly Stretch your golf muscles! Getting the muscles back into golf shape will take more than just one practice session. On the first nice day don t go out and hit 500 balls. Hit a few balls with each club working on nothing but tempo and focusing on your target. Short Game! One of the first things that leaves us after a long layoff is short game touch. Begin chipping and putting focusing on proper setup, light grip pressure and smooth tempo. Start with 9-holes getting your mind back into the scoring (course management) mode and out of the swing thought mode. Start with lower expectations so you don t get frustrated. Remind yourself that it s still early spring with a lot of warm weather golf ahead. Set some goals for the year. Make sure they are attainable. After reaching one goal then set another one. That s how you continually improve. Erin Go Bragh! Enjoy your good shots and don t worry about your bad shots. Bad shots happen to everyone who plays the game.
