2 KESWICK GOLF CLUB PROFESSIONAL STAFF Eric McGraw, PGA Head Golf Professional, was born and raised into a family of golf professionals in Abilene, Texas. He played his first golf tournament at age 10 and continued playing competitively in college at Western Texas College and University of Central Oklahoma. After earning a History degree from Hardin-Simmons University, Eric discovered his passion: to help golfers improve their game. A PGA Member since 1993, he has been Keswick s Head Golf Professional since Providing outstanding golf instruction still underscores his love for the sport. Eric enjoys historical fiction and British mysteries and most anything on ESPN. He and his wife Patti have four children. Peter McDonough, Golf Course Superintendent, has been at Keswick for 25 years. Prior to Keswick, Peter worked for Arnold Palmer's management company and also was part of the TPC at Las Colinas golf course construction. From Massachusetts, Peter graduated from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture. Peter is a Past President of the Virginia Golf Course Superintendent's Association and member of the Golf Course Superintendent Association of America for the past 25 years. Peter has been highly involved with several organizations over the years as the Government Relations representative for the Virginia Golf Council. Peter and his wife Debra enjoy living in the Keswick area. Bubba Pulley, PGA 1st Assistant Golf Professional, hails from Warm Springs, Georgia, where he learned to love many sports. Bubba attended Concord University (West Virginia) on a baseball scholarship, earned a Business Management degree and to this day has the most wins as a pitcher in the university's history. His career as a golf pro began at Wintergreen resort in 2006, and he has been at Keswick since Bubba was elected to the PGA of America in June of 2014, and holds the course record for the old Keswick Course from the tournament (Black) tees with a 66 (which now can never be broken, he is happy to note). He is the father of two boys, Bryce (7) and Blake (5). Barbara Perkins, Membership Sales Manager, graduated from Western Carolina University in 2011 with a B.S. in Hospitality Tourism Management. While in college, she gained experience working at Old Edwards Inn and Spa in Highlands, NC and Trillium Links and Lake Club in Cashiers, NC, and officially began her career at The Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst, NC shortly after graduating. Here she worked in both Special Events and Catering, as well as Membership Services. Before coming to Keswick, Barbara was Catering Sales Manager at The Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville. After getting married in early November 2016, she relocated here with her husband, and is very excited to be starting this next chapter of her career as part of the team at Keswick Hall and Golf Club, where she hopes to be able to grow the membership base by taking member services to the next level. When not working Barbara can often been found spending time with her husband and their two dogs at the park, or sometimes in the dog show ring. Rupe Taylor, PGA 2nd Assistant Golf Professional, was born in Asheville, North Carolina and raised in Earlysville, Virginia, from age four. Throughout his time at Albemarle High School, he enjoyed playing multiple sports, including golf, baseball, basketball and wrestling. At North Carolina State University, he decided to turn his passion for golf into a career, earning a bachelor's degree in its PGA Golf Management program, with a concentration in Coaching. In the 2016 MAPGA Professional Championship at Kingsmill Resort, Rupe shot even par for a three round total and finished T-6, qualifying him for the 2017 PGA Professional National Championship! He looks forward to helping you in the pursuit of your own golf goals this season! Ashley Burger, Director of Retail, is a native of the Eastern Shore of Virginia where she attended Broadwater Academy. Playing golf with her Dad and competing in junior golf tournaments resulted in the desire to attend Methodist University where Ashley pursued a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Professional Golf Management. Upon graduation, Ashley moved to Charlottesville and was part of the golf staff at Farmington Country Club for 14 years. In January of 2015, she made the jump across town to Keswick Golf Club where she is currently putting her touch into the Golf Shop and enjoying the members, both old and new! P.S. Long sleeve/short sleeve mocks, slacks or Bermuda shorts are considered appropriate attire. Tank tops, tee shirts, fishnet tops, cut-offs, sweat pants, warm up suits, blue jeans, bathing suites, tennis shorts or athletic shorts are not permitted. WOMEN-- Shirts with collars and sleeves. 3 Food & Beverage/Cooler Policy All food & beverage must be purchased at the Club. The use of private coolers is strictly prohibited. Golf Bag Storage The bag storage fee is $160 per year, billed annually. The fee includes cleaning, storage and winterization. Golf Cart Policy Each operator of a golf cart must be at least 16 years of age. There is a maximum of two riders per golf cart. Please return the golf carts back to the paths around all tees and greens. Golf carts must remain on the paths on all par threes. Golf Handicaps Keswick Golf Club maintains USGA golf handicaps for members, supported by the Virginia State Golf Association. The year fee is $35, billed annually. Easy score posting can be found at the Club terminal, ocated adjacent to the Administration Offices, or on line at or Guests Members may invite the same guest, either accompanied or unaccompanied, a maximum of six times in any one calendar year. Applicable fees will apply. Leisure Members may bring accompanied guests. Leisure Members may play in select tournaments at Keswick Golf Club, denoted by asterisks on the Tournament Calendar. Tournament rounds count towards the total round allotment. Locker Rooms Men s & women s lockers are located on the first level at the club. $100 half locker billed annually $185 full locker billed annually The locker fee includes locker rental and shoe care. Practice Facilities Keswick Golf Club features two natural grass practice tees and the TurfHound artificial turf matting system, used during the winter months. Additional practice areas include two fairway bunkers, a large putting green, pitching area with two greenside bunkers and a small putting green near number one tee, all located to the east of the practice facility tees. Titleist Pro V1x balls are provided and may be used at the practice facility only. FEES: Golf members have unlimited use of the practice facility at no additional charge. Leisure Members may use the practice facility at no charge prior to a tee time. Otherwise, there is a $10 daily use per person charge. 5 Women s Wine Down Wednesday with the Pro Join the Club s PGA Professionals every other Wednesday beginning on April 11th for a fun, relaxed nine hole scramble. The Pro will help you navigate your way around the course, providing tips on course management, basic rules and etiquette. Finish the day with drinks and camaraderie at the beautiful club terrace. GOLF INSTRUCTION Individual Lessons Individual lessons may be arranged with PGA Head Golf Professional Eric McGraw, PGA Assistant Golf Professional Bubba Pulley or PGA Assistant Golf Professional Rupe Taylor. Lessons are offered in one-half or one hour times. Two hour on course lessons are also available. Group Clinics Group clinics can be a fun, stress fee option to golf instruction. Put together a group of three or more friends or family members and we will develop a custom program just for you. Minimum of three students per instructor. On Course Training Let one of our PGA Golf Professionals work with you on Keswick Golf Club s Full Cry. This two hour program is designed to help you get the ball in the hole faster and drop your handicap in the process. How are you doing with your course management? Do uneven lies get the best of you? These questions and many more will be addressed in this customized program. **New for 2018** Short Game School This weekly program in April is designed for players to get the most out of their scoring throughout the 2018 season. Our Professionals will teach you the fundamentals of all aspects of the art of scoring, including putting, chipping, pitching and bunker player. **New for 2018** Get Golf Ready This weekly program in May was created to teach everything you ll need to play golf in just a few lessons. Each session will focus on the various golf skills you will use while playing. In addition to learning the basics, you will be guided onto the golf course to put your skills into action in a casual, friendly setting. Our PGA Professionals will teach a combination of these three critical skills to mastering the game of golf. If your child chooses to enter regional competitions, they could qualify for a National Championship, which is held at Augusta National the same week as The Masters! Cost: $25 per session 4:00-5:00 beginning March 7th Ages 6-13 PGA Junior League: Your child will have fun in a team-oriented environment, learning skills to play the game, as well as cooperation in an effort to work together to accomplish a greater goal. Practices will take place on Thursdays, beginning in May, from 4:00-5:00 & matches will be on a handful of dates between the weekends of May 27th, June 3rd & July 15th. The goal is to go as far around the course as possible. Two players play as partners, each playing from the teeing ground and each playing his partner s ball for the second shot. After the second shot, partners select the ball with which they wish to score, and play that ball alternately to complete the hole. (The player with the lower course handicap is allowed 60% of his course handicap. The player with the higher course handicap is allowed 40% of his course handicap.)
