All competitions listed in this Omnibus have agreed to conduct their competition in accordance with the rules, regulations and directives of the American Driving Society. Any competitors planning to participate in the Combined Driving Events or Pleasure Driving Shows listed in this Omnibus should be thoroughly familiar with the current rules of the American Driving Society and any other organizations by which the competition is recognized. Failure to know the rules can result in elimination. Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current ADS Rule Book will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. As is printed in the ADS Rulebook (AC-4.3) information published in the Omnibus will take priority over information in the Prize List in the case of conflicting information. Organizers reserve the right to limit entries, refuse an entry without stating a reason, to cancel, combine or divide a class, or alter the proposed time schedule or Officials if necessary. Organizers may refuse to accept an entry that is not completely and correctly filled out, including all necessary health papers, signatures, Fees, copies of membership cards, etc. Entry Forms are included with the Omnibus and are available for download on the ADS Web site. Please make sure to use the correct Entry Form! ADS MEMBERSHIP: In order to participate in any of the competitions at any level listed in this Omnibus, competitors (drivers only) must be current members of the ADS or pay a non-member fee. Canadian drivers who compete in Canada at ADS sanctioned competitions are not required to pay the non-member fee provided they hold a valid PEF Membership and the competition is sanctioned by Equine Canada. The Omnibus is published twice yearly by the American Driving Society, Inc., P.O. Box 278, Cross Plains, Wisconsin and is provided to all members of the ADS as a membership service. 133 GOLF CARTS AND ATVS According to Equisure, the company that insures the American Driving Society, more claims are made each year because of accidents relating to golf carts and ATVs than horses and carriages. We can prevent most of these accidents by using common sense. Please follow these simple rules: Do not allow unlicensed drivers to operate golf carts or ATVs. Drive it only on the track of the course or where allowed by the competition. Remember that competitions are often held on private property and that golf carts and ATVs can get stuck on wet ground. Don t overload the golf cart or ATV with too many people. This is not only unsafe, but is probably not good for the cart either. USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 Show Pass fee. 138 American Driving Society DISCLAIMER and HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT: This form must be signed by every Competition participant or if a minor, their consenting parent, including each person who rides with a driver on a carriage not only during the actual Competition but including any time from arrival at the Competition to departure. I understand and agree that neither the American Driving Society ( ADS ) and its officers, the Driving Event Competition ( Competition ), Competition judges, officials, workers, volunteers or organizing committee nor the property owners accept or shall have any responsibility of any nature whatsoever for accidents, damage, injury or illness to the horses, owners, riders, drivers, grooms, passengers, attendants, spectators or any other person or property in connection with this Competition. I hereby expressly agree without any limitation or condition for myself and my principals, representatives, employees and agents: (1) to be bound by the rules and by-laws of the ADS and any local rules of this Competition; (2) that every horse, driver, attendant, groom and/or passenger is eligible as entered; and (3) to accept as final any decision of the Competition officials on any question arising under the ADS rules and by-laws or any local rules of the Competition. I also agree, without any limitation or condition, to hold the ADS, its officers, directors, employees and agents, and Competition judges, officials and organizing committee, harmless from any and all liability, loss, claims or actions, causes of action, judgments or demands of any nature whatsoever. I am fully aware and appreciate that equine sports, including driving in this particular Competition involve inherent dangerous risk of serious injury or death. By participating I do so voluntarily and expressly assume any and all risks of injury to me or loss of my horse(s) or equipment. I agree to release and voluntarily waive the right to sue the ADS, its officers, directors, employees, and agents, stewards, Competition judges, personnel, volunteers, officials, and organizing committee, including their agents and employees from and against all claims for damages, including money damages, for any action taken or otherwise any harm caused by me or my horse to others, including whether arising from directly or indirectly from the negligence of the ADS or the Competition. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the ADS its officers, directors, employees, clinicians, members, volunteers, coaches, representatives, assigns, Competition judges, officials and organizing committee, their agents and employees from any and all claims for loss or injury caused by me or my horse that occur during or in conjunction with this Competition. I also agree that as a condition of and in consideration of acceptance of entry, the ADS and/or the Competition may use or assign photographs, videos, audios, cable - casts, broadcasts, internet, film, new media or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the course of the Competition for the promotion, coverage or benefit of the Competition, sport, or the ADS. (the Federation ) Entry Agreement (GR906.4) as printed in the Prize List for this Competition and agree to all of its provisions. I understand and agree that by entering this Competition, I am subject to Federation Rules, the Prize List, and local rules of the competition. I agree to waive the right to the use of my photos at the competition, and agree that any actions against the Federation must be brought in New York State.
