2 General Information for ASC of MT Events These shows are ASCA sanctioned by the Australian Shepherd Club of Montana. All ASCA rules apply. ASC of Montana and their members assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by an exhibitor, handler, dog, property, child or spectator. No entry fee will be refunded if the show cannot open or be completed due to riots, civil disturbances, acts of God, public emergencies or other events beyond the control of ASC of MT. Entries must be made on the official ASCA entry forms. (Attainable at: select: Forms and Rulebooks) Proof of rabies vaccination may be required. IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE Draw will be posted prior to start of trial. Bitches in season will run in draw order. Bitches in season will remain crated when not competing. All dogs must be on leash or crated when not competing. Changes and/or substitutions, other than natural division progressions, must be submitted to the trial secretary in writing the evening before the trial. Move-ups are allowed, but they may not be recorded correctly unless written notification is provided to the trial secretary prior to the start of the trial. Any change requests, including substitutions, must be submitted to the trial secretary in writing the evening before the trial. Entry fees will be refunded only when a dog has been certified by a licensed veterinarian as unable to compete due to sickness or injury. Owner will be responsible for all vet fees. Pre-entry deadline: Postmark no earlier than July 12, 2017 and no later than August 4, 2017 No telephone, facsimile, , or incomplete entries will be accepted. All entries must be on ASCA entry forms with proper fees included. Please use one entry form per dog. Indicate AM Trial and/or PM Trial in the date row above the columns for each date. Selling runs will not be permitted unless the trial is full. If the trial is full and you wish to sell a run, the transaction must be handled by the trial secretary. All offers to buy or sell runs must be submitted in writing at least one hour before the trial starts. No exceptions. Please clean up after your dogs. 3 Summer Roundup Stock Trial Information Four days of Stock trials: August 18 th through 21 st Pre-entries open July 12 th and close August 4 th, 2017 Schedule: Friday: August 18: AM Post Advanced Stock Dog Trial Cattle & Sheep Course A; Judge: Dana Mackenzie Friday: August 18: 8:00 AM First Annual Rally Trial Judge: Robyn Johnson-Garrett Friday: August 18: PM Post-Advanced Stock Dog Trial Judge: Robyn Johnson-Garrett Saturday: August 19: AM Stock Dog Trials Cattle Course D & Ducks Course H; Judge: Dana Mackenzie Sheep Course D; Judge: Robyn Johnson-Garrett Saturday: August 19: PM Stock Dog Trials Cattle Course D & Ducks Course H; Judge: Robyn Johnson-Garrett Sheep Course D; Judge: Dana Mackenzie Sunday: August 20: AM Stock Dog Trials Cattle Course F & Ducks Course B; Judge: Dana Mackenzie Sheep Course F; Judge: Robyn Johnson-Garrett Sunday: August 20: PM Stock Dog Trials Cattle Course F & Ducks Course B; Judge: Robyn Johnson-Garrett Sheep Course F; Judge: Dana Mackenzie Monday: August 21: Ranch Trial 20 runs available with a maximum of 9 cattle runs Judge: Dana Mackenzie Stock to be used: 5 head per run Khaki Campbell or Indian runner ducks, 3-10 head per run Katahdin sheep, and 3-10 head per run angus cattle. Owners of dogs will be held responsible for all injuries to livestock during their runs. Replacement costs are: $25.00 per duck, $250 per sheep, and $1500 per cow unless posted otherwise at time of trial. Judges/handlers Meeting will be at 7:30 AM sharp and trial will start at 8:00 AM Awards Post Advanced Awards: placement ribbons will be awarded 1st thru 4th place and Rosettes for High in Trial and High Combined by class. Daily awards: placement ribbons will be awarded 1st thru 4th place and Rosettes for High in Trial by division and High Combined by class in the arena trials. Week-end awards: High Combined Stock dog (Silver Buckle); High in Trial; High Combined Aussie WTCH; High Combined Aussie Non-WTCH; High Combined Other Breed; and Most Promising Started Aussie (Silver Buckle), (determined by 2 highest scores out of each class of stock.). Ribbons and awards will be given out at the end of each day. Additional prizes may be awarded. Details for award determination are posted on the website: Ranch Trial Awards: Placement ribbons will be awarded to the first four places and a high in trial ribbon will be awarded for cattle and sheep. Other prizes may also be awarded. Overall High Combined Stock Dog: Combined scores from Post Advanced, Arena trial, and Ranch Trial.

Pre-entries close on August 4 th All entries will be put in order of postmark date. Entries postmarked after August 4 th or received after August 14 th will be considered day of show entries. Day of show entries will be accepted until the trial fills. Once the trial fills, additional entries will be put on a waiting list in postmark order unless the applicant requests otherwise. Applicants preferring an immediate return of their application and fees if the trial is full should include instructions with their entry form. Divisions will run for all classes of stock: Advanced, Open, Novice, Junior, FEO and Started. Be sure to fill out ASCA stock trial entry forms completely (one per dog) and indicate trial AM or PM, or cattle/sheep/ducks, where applicable on one entry form All entries must be accompanied by payment. Please remember to include your jump heights, if needed. Rally Pre-Entry Day of Trial AWARD INFORMATION: Ribbons: 1st thru 4th in all classes and qualifying scores. Rally: High in Trial, High Combined, High Scoring Junior

5 Rally trial will be held on grass. Dogs must be on a leashed or crated at all times, unless competing. Bitches in season will not be allowed to compete in the Rally trials. The shows trials will be held under the current rules and regulations of ASCA. No entry shall be accepted from a dog or handler disqualified from the ASCA conformation program; a dog or handler disqualified from all ASCA programs; or a person not in good standing with ASCA. ASCA Rally Trials: ASCA sanctioned trials are open to all breeds and mixed breeds eligible for registry with another club (including AKC). Dogs with titles or legs in other registries must begin at the novice level in ASCA. Entry fees will not be returned if the show cannot be opened or be completed due to riots, civil disturbances, acts of God, public emergencies, or other events beyond the control of ASCofMT. Entry fees will not be refunded if the dog is absent, disqualified, excused or barred from competition by the Show Committee, ASCA, show veterinarian or the judge. General Information for the Summer Roundup In Lewistown (approximately fourteen miles from the trial site) there are eateries serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a grocery store. Camping: There will be limited camping on site: no hookups-- $10.00/night. Include dates and fees with application. Please make separate checks for camping payable to Betty Williams. Hotels (in Lewistown) Super B & B Calvert Hotel Lewistown Lodge Mountain View Motel Sunset Motel Trails End Motel Yogo Inn Trial Location: John & Betty Williams Ranch (W Lazy J) 554 Red Baron Lane, Lewistown, MT Directions to Trial Site: Coming into Lewistown from the West you will turn right at the 3rd stop light (1 st Ave S & Hwy 238). Coming into Lewistown from the east you will turn left at the first stop light. Drive past an Albertson s store on your right, continue on Hwy 238 or Upper Spring Creek Rd. Stay on main highway and go approximately 10 miles and it will make a sharp turn to the right. Stay left at the turn off to the reservoir. Continue on to the top of the hill and at next junction, stay to the right on Red Hill Rd. Go approximately 2 miles. Just past mile marker 13 you will turn left just past the Sweeting Ranch sign. Drive about a half mile down the lane (watch for the pivot irrigation system) to the ranch house and parking area. Miscellaneous Items: All entries must be on the official ASCA Entry form. Indicate AM and/or PM trial(s) as appropriate. Non-ASCA dogs may enter the stock trial without a tracking number, however, only those with a tracking number will be awarded ASCA titles upon completing title requirements. Bitches in season will run in order in the stock trials.

6 Bitches in season will not be allowed to run in the Rally trials. Run order will be posted day of trial Individuals will be responsible for any damage done to the stock and /or equipment. ASCA, ASC of Montana, and club members will not be responsible for any loss, damage or injury to persons, dogs or equipment of any competitor or spectator. All dogs must be crated or leashed except while competing. All ASCA Rules will be strictly enforced. ASCA Tracking Number: Beginning 1/1/2003 for non-asca registered dogs In order to have ASCA qualifying legs tracked and to receive ASCA titling certificates, each non-asca registered dog will be required to have an ASCA tracking number. This requires a one time fee of $10.00/dog. At the time if applying for the tracking number, the individual owner must also be an ASCA member (minimum is Service Membership: cost $10.00.) 7 SET STOCK Summer Roundup Ranch Trial Gather stock from 11 acre pasture. Take stock through Gate #1 into Pen A. Move stock from Pen A into alleyway through Gate #2 and put into Pen B. Take livestock out of Pen D and take down alleyway through gate 2 and turn out into pasture through gate 1. Sort livestock from Pen B and put unmarked into Pen D and marked into Pen B. Put unmarked livestock into cattle tub and run down the chute into the squeeze chute. Release livestock into holding area and then put back into Pen B. Take livestock out of Pen C and put into Pen D. Move livestock from Pen B into Pen C. Run ends when gate closes. Red arrows point to gate openings. All gates that will be used are 12 foot.
