3 Conditions of entry: Entry is conditional upon acceptance of these conditions. Entry Fees: All entry fees are to be paid prior to the event. Open riders must sign a day participant form (available on PCAV website) before riding on the day. Statement of Rights: The organising committee reserves the right to a) cancel any class or competition; b) divide any class; c) alter times; d) refuse any entry with or without stating the reason. e) No refunds after closing date except with vet or medical certificate. An administration fee of $5 will be deducted. Disclaimer: Neither the organising committee of this competition nor the PCAV accepts any responsibility whatsoever for any accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, riders, ground spectators or any other person or property. PCAV Club Member Cards: For pony club members, PCAV club member cards must be inspected at the event office before riding. Armbands: Medical armbands must be worn by all competitors (applies to pony club and open sections) Helmets: Correct standards numbered helmet must be worn as specified in PCAV Gear Rules. Spot checks may occur and incorrect helmet will mean elimination. Gear Check: All competitors must present for one PCAV Gear Check per discipline on the day ideally 30 mins prior to the scheduled riding time Competitor Numbers: The organising committee will pre-allocate and advise numbers. Competitors may supply their own numbers. Body numbers will be available. Open riders: $5 refundable deposit on body numbers. Queries, Protests, Horse Abuse: Queries, protests, horse abuse rules as per the PCAV Handbook of By- Laws. Dog Policy: Dogs are prohibited without exception. Horses: Must be at least 4 years old, no stallions, colts or rigs. Multiple horses: More than one horse may be ridden subject to the conditions in the PCAV Handbook of By-laws multiple horse rules Lunging: only in specified area. Day Participant (formerly Day Attendance) for Open Riders Participants in events organized by PCAV Clubs, who are not current financial members of a PCAV Club, or who do not have any other approved insurance* in place, are deemed to be 'Day Participants' of the event/activity on completion of the Day Participant Waiver. Protection is afforded to the Day Participant under the PCAV Public Liability policy, only whilst participating in activities organized and/or run by the PCAV club at that event, where they are liably for causing bodily injury or property damage to others, excluding whilst travelling to and from such event. By completing the Day Participant Waiver form, you agree to abide by the Rules and Conditions of the PCAV and any Rules of the Event. 1. All participants in an Open Competition, Clinic or activity - including Pony Club Members- MUST sign a Public Liability Declaration Form. 2. Riders without adequate Insurance Liability Cover MUST ALSO complete the Day Participant Waiver and pay $10 per day fee. * Approved insurance - Participants who are NOT current members of PCAV, Equestrian Australia* (EA), an Inter State Pony Club, Arab Horse Society of Australia (AHSA), Australian Endurance Riders Association (AERA) and cannot provide proof that they are covered by Public Liability Insurance Policy with a minimum of $10, cover must pay $10 per day to cover the cost to participate. *As of July 2014 HRCAV Insurance does not provide this cover, their members must pay the Day Participant fee and complete the Day Participant Waiver Form FOOD AND DRINK WILL 3 BE AVAILABLE ALL DAY

4 Participants must provide proof of current membership or Insurance cover to avoid paying the $10 per day Day Participant Fee (*EA -must be a direct member, not just a member of an EA affiliated Club) Learner Participation All learners will receive a prize for participating in the day Learners have the opportunity to participate in one dressage test and/or one show jumping round. Learner dressage test is available from the organisers (on our website). Riders may be led or have the test called. Learner show jumping course will be 6 to 10 obstacles with a minimum starting height of 10 cm, Maximum finishing height of 45 cm. It will not be timed. Top Score Min Starting height Max Starting height Max finishing height Max spread A B C D E F Speed metres per minute Table A- Judge Dorothy Miles This is the easiest showjumping event. it starts with a round of jumps which must be jumped cleanly, in the correct order and within the time limit (which is based on a normal canter speed). Riders without penalties including time penalties - go into a jump-off. The jump-off course is usually a shorter and higher course. The steward informs riders what the course is. The jump-off will be against the clock', that is, the fastest clear round is the winner. The time is taken from when the horse's nose goes through the start flags until it goes through the finish flags. If your horse will turn smooth, tight corners and jump on slight angles there is on need to go too fast - this method is preferred as it is safest for the horse and rider. Top Score -Judge Anne Leviston In this event the jumps are given a value number with the easiest jump having the lowest number and the hardest jump the highest number. Jumps do not have to be jumped in number order and not all jumps need be jumped. Start and finish flags are placed together so they can be passed through from either direction. The idea of this event is to get the highest score (from value number) in the time allowed. Riders make up their own course keeping in mind the ability of their horse You must pass through the flags to start your round. A jump can be scored twice only and any additional times it is jumped is a waste of time. Jumps can be jumped from both directions or the same direction. Any jump knocked down will not get a score and will not be put up again until the round is finished. Normal penalties for knock downs and refusals do not apply in this type of event. When the judge rings the bell, to signal the end of your round, ride as quickly as possible to pass through the flags - the time between when the bell rings and you pass through the flags will count if there are riders on equal scores. Show jumping times are approximate. Please be prepared to walk the course 30 mins prior or when called on the PA. Please notify the judge if you are held up by another event.
