Name and address is to be filled out exactly how the purchaser wants a horse registered. We will not be responsible for errors on transfer if purchase invoice is not properly and clearly filled out. 4. All horses listed in this catalogue are guaranteed sound by their owner. The guarantee is strictly by the owner and not the sale management. Right of recourse must be directly to the owner and not through South Dakota Horse Sale, owners, auctioneers or managers. We act only as agents for consignors in the sale. Soundness to include sight out of both eyes, not to crib, hit the ground on all 4, & good in the air. 5. Be sure to inspect any horse of interest to your satisfaction BEFORE you buy. A veterinarian is available prior to sale time to answer any questions. A new halter will be provided with your horse purchase. All ride and lead in horses are haltered and tied after they are sold and leave the ring. A $2.50 fee for the halter will be assessed the buyer with seller paying an additional $ Phone or mail in bids are welcome. Buyers need to make arrangements by the Friday before the sale for credit references. 9. Writing an insufficient funds check the size of a horse purchase is a FELONY. Any person writing an insufficient funds check for a horse purchase will be turned over to the States Attorney for prosecution. Immediate legal action will be taken. 10. Longtime, regular monthly buyers, easily recognized by our staff, may apply for a permanent V.I.P. buyer number. 11. We DO NOT allow private horse trading in the yards, alleys or on the premises before, during or after the sale. Any offender to this policy will be banned from the premises. All persons selling no-saled horses on the premises after they leave the ring must pay full commission in the office. 12. For convenience in the quick location of a certain horse, horses will be penned in numerical order throughout the yard beginning with Lot 1 nearest the check-in gate.

"Silver" has every thing going for him - from top a notch pedigree, conformation, a working ranch horse, a Team roping ( both head and heal ) and along with that is safe and gentle for the youngest rider. Ready for 4-H or Trail riding as well. Shawn also topped the 17th Annual Super Bowl Invitational Gelding Session with his $5,600 gelding to win the engraved saddle presented by South Dakota Horse Sale.He sold to Greg Tweten, Benson, Minnesota. Buyers came from all the surrounding states and Montana as well as from all across South Dakota. 190 Head of horses and 86 rope cattle sold. A blizzard with heavy snow of 12 inches or more, fell across the state only 4 days prior to the sale. The storm kept a number of folks in the cattle & calving business home but those that made it to the sale sure were in the mood for buying the horses. The top dollar horses are those geldings with top of the line conformation & SAFE, fun to ride, meaning finished solid been there and done that & no have to worry about a doctor bill. As you can see, the Reserve sale horse was sold grade, so top of the line pedigree can not do it all for top prices, it is the finished product that matters the most along with conformation. & attitude or disposition and smarts.
