Open to: any dogs with a CKC Master Hunter title or AKC Master Hunter title who has successfully completed 2 CKC Master Hunter passes at Hunt Tests hosted by member clubs in good standing of the Canadian National Master Club during the period of August 10, 2010 to August 1, 2011 any dog with a CKC Grand Master Hunter title any dog that qualified in the most recent Canadian National Master Hunt Test Stake any dog that qualified in the most recent AKC Master National Hunting Test. Additionally: 1. After a series has been officially set up by the judges, no dog on the grounds and still in competition shall leave the area of the series until it has been tested and excused by the Marshal, unless otherwise excused by the National Master Committee. Further, during the running of the stake no competing dog shall, while on the grounds, be exercised, trained or worked with the exception of a bumper thrown by the handler and this only in an especially approved area and only for the purpose of exercising the dog. 2. Any dog not entered in the stake and interfering with the running of the stake will be removed. 3. Exercise areas will be clearly defined. 4. Dogs not appearing on line when called will be given 15 minutes to do so. 5. Rotation of starting dog will be used as directed by the Marshal. 6. No person participating in any capacity in the National Master shall be subject to an indignity of any kind. An officially appointed Discipline Committee will investigate any concerns. 7. No dog to be allowed to watch any test having just run the test or not, thus eliminating confusion as to who has run and who has not and reducing the chance of dog fights. 8. The first scheduled test of the National will be announced. Each next scheduled test will be posted with the call backs. This procedure will help create fairness for all by eliminating possible competitive advantage for those involved with putting on the trial. 9. Judges have no obligation to go ahead with a scheduled test as conditions may change.

3 Canadian Kennel Club caution: It shall be the duty and obligation of the event giving club to see that a judge, club official, volunteer, or any participant at a hunt test held under these rules is not subject to any indignities of any kind. The Hunt Test Committee Chair shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation, and the Discipline Committee shall have the authority to take such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred. Entry: Limited to 75 dogs. Due to the late start of the Hunt Test season in Canada, and to allow time for dogs to qualify, a maximum of 30 entries from United States based competitors will be accepted up until July 18, 2011, after which all Canada and United States entries will be accepted in the order they are received until the limit of 75 dogs has been met. The entry fee is $ CDN per running dog. Please make all cheques and money orders payable to the 2011 Canadian National Master. Please Note: Non - CKC-Member Participation Fee Non-CKC member participation fee a) An annual non-member participation fee for awards and titles will be charged to a Canadian non-member of CKC. The fee will match the ERN fee. b) In order to protect the awards/titles earned, the non-member will have a choice either to become a CKC member or to pay the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will cause all awards and titles to be cancelled. c) The Premium List must carry a note stating that "these fees apply only to dogs wholly owned by non-ckc members and are not applicable to CKC members". If you are a Canadian dog and qualify at this event, you will be responsible for payment of the CKC Non Member Participation Fee prior toward of your title. Entries close on Friday, August 5 th, 2011, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. after which no entries will be accepted. A listing fee of $9.30 (including HST) per dog is required for dogs NOT individually registered with the CKC or having an ERN number. Telephone or FAX entries will not be accepted. entries will be accepted, but a hard copy of the entry with payment must be received by mail or courier prior to the closing date. All entry fees paid for bitches in season will be refunded provided that notice in writing is given to the National Master Hunt Test Secretary before the start of the stake. Entry fees paid for any dog withdrawn because of an injury, illness or death shall be refunded in full. To be considered, refunds must be requested in writing to the National Master Hunt Test Secretary no later than seven days after the stake, explaining the reason for the scratch. An appropriate veterinary certificate must accompany all refund requests. Vetting of bitches will take place at Headquarters on Sunday, August 14 between 1:00 and 3:00 pm by the official veterinarian Chemainus Animal Hospital, Dr Jay Pollock. Spayed females will be exempt from vetting if a veterinary certificate of spaying accompanies the entry form. Awards all dogs receiving a qualifying score will receive a duck band, rosette and the title of National Master Hunter and shall be entitled to add the NMH prefix to the registered name.

4 Start time Monday, August 15 at 7:00 am a caravan will lead entrants and spectators from Headquarters to the site of the first test. Clothing all Handlers, observers and workers must wear dark or camouflage clothing or appropriate hunting attire. Game dead ducks or pheasants will be used in all stakes except for the upland test, which will use live chukkar partridges or pheasants. Upland test the upland test requires the flushing of game birds. The flushed game birds will be live pheasants or chukar partridge. Assisting at the trial all entrants will be expected to pitch in and work to keep things running smoothly. The gun captain may ask entrants to assist by gunning, running a winger, planting a blind or helping to move equipment. AGM will be held at 2:00 PM at Headquarters on Sunday August 14 th, 2011 Pre-Trial Training Designated areas for pre-event training will be available commencing on Wednesday August 10, Maps showing the location of training grounds and the times that competitors will be allowed on the grounds will be available at Hunt Test Headquarters. A limited number of training aids may be purchased from the host club at the trial headquarters. Training Aids must be ordered in advance and will be available on a first come, first served basis. Include your order on your ticket order (attached). Note: Most of the training ground will be either private property or government controlled estuary property. Club representatives will be in attendance each training day to ensure rules and regulations regarding use of the sites are adhered to. Any competitor not abiding by the training site rules will be asked to leave the site and will be prohibited from access to the remaining training sites. The Pacific Rim Hunting Retriever Club has worked diligently to secure suitable sites for training and testing of retrievers and we trust the CNM competitors will respect the policies put in place by our stakeholder land owners. Competitors are responsible for their own breakfast, but the Westholme School Historic Society will offer coffee and muffins each morning for a nominal fee. Sewage pump out will be available at cost, to be arranged during the event (likely twice over the 10 day event period on Monday and Thursday). Photography A formal photograph of each competitor showing their number and their dog will be taken during the first day of the event. Photos (8X10) will be provided to competitors on the last day of the event for a cost of $10 per photo. A host committee member will photograph the entire event and a disk containing all event photos will be provided upon request at the end of the event for a cost of $25. Custom photographs of dogs and handlers may be available through the committee photographer as time allows. On the right is farm market. At the lights, turn left onto Mount Sicker Road. The signs indicate the turn to Crofton and the Salt Spring Island Ferry. Proceed 0.5 kilomtres and the Westholme school is on your right.
