Based n extensive internal evaluatin and in cmmitment t bth the KHDA framewrk and the framewrk fr German Schls Overseas, the German Internatinal Schl has identified the fllwing areas f fcus fr imprvement during the upcming academic year 2018/19. Effective Teaching and Learning Mdern pedaggical practice that meets the learning needs f the students is the cre cmpetence at ur schl. Teaching effectively assures the prgress f students achievements. Slid and Rigrus Curriculum Based n the strngly laid ut prgram fr German Schls Overseas, a rbust, rigrus curriculum is implemented and cntinuusly adapted in rder t meet the needs f ur schl cmmunity. Prmting German Cultural Understanding and Glbal Citizenship Educatin always must be able t generate a framewrk fr students t grw their understanding f themselves and ffer perspectives f develpment at the same time. Serving a German speaking cmmunity in Dubai, ur schl wants t ffer a balance between the rts f the German cultural understanding and the knwledge and skills t act as Glbal Citizens. 2

3 Fcus Area: Effective Teaching and Learning Indicatrs f successful achievements: All students and parents will always be infrmed f learning achievements and prgress. Regular feedback n teaching and learning will be dcumented and cmmunicated interny and externy using a new internet based, interactive infrmatin tl. The schl will take part in the internatinal ISA assessments fr the first time in grades 4-9. The schl will adjust the admissin plicy by intrducing a mandatry standardized cgnitive test fr new students. The schl will develp a new SE strategy that incrprates the prvisin f German as a secnd language (GSL). All teachers f Islamic and Arabic will take part in a series f targeted teacher training.
