I understand they raised $1, that afternoon between the hours 4:30pm to 7:00pm. We all had a good time and good home style chili with cornbread. Q: What was the first car fitted with an alternator, rather than a direct current dynamo?
2 BLUEGRASS REGION ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE CLUB OF AMERICA September 2014 different route and had lunch at a new restaurant: The Bluebird Cafe. Club member Group Photo at Richmond Place Since there are very few ways across the river, we took the often used route through Keene and Troy and crossed the river via the Brooklyn Bridge. We then hit some backroads to our first stop at the Kountry Kubbord in McAfee. This is a great little store that makes huge sandwiches including country ham and stocks other foods that you normally find in Amish stores. Howard Carter s 1955 Chevy Nomad, a potential member? After this stop we took some back roads as we headed to Perryville. One of our goals when laying our a tour is to find at lease one road that most folks had never traveled. This time we out did ourselves and found a road we had never been on. While talking and not paying attention we drove past on of our turns and everyone followed. A quick stop in Cornishville to confirm that the map route would work we were soon heading on to connect with our original route. Due to out SNAFU we spent less time at the Perryville Battlefield. This was the first time a few of the folks had been to the battlefield and we hope they return sometime to check out the history of the battle, which was the biggest battle in Kentucky of the Civil war and ended the Confederate's attempt to control Kentucky. Wayne Wesley s 1952 Cadillac A quick straight run to Stanford where we had a great lunch. The Bluebird Cafe is a farm to table restaurant that opened a couple of years ago and uses local as much local products as possible. Marksbury Farm supplies much of their meat. Everyone appeared to enjoy lunch and a couple of us even had room for dessert. (I highly recommend the Creme Brulee.) Everyone took their choice of routes home. Luther Fritts with his 1957 Chevy Bel Air Bluebird Café in Stanford, KY August 23rd by Phil Schneider and Loetta Arnold 16 AACA members headed out for a return to Stanford on a sunny August 23rd. While going back to the same town as the May trip we took a completely Photo by Loetta Arnold

Ray Note that this tour is on a Friday. We will take the back roads to Cave Run Lake and eat at Pop s B-B-Q. Afterwards we tour the Minor E. Clark Fish Hatchery (closed on weekends). Then we travel to Morehead. We will tour the KY Folk Art Center with a traveling exhibit of Civil War Photos and the Cora Wilson Stewart Moonlight School (both have no tour
4 guide on weekends). It s a little early but hopefully, we ll see some beautiful fall color! Ah-ooo-gah Garage By Charlie Simpson I was having trouble with brakes pulling to one side and the other. I tried to adjust the brakes and they would do okay for a while then they would start pulling again. A previous club member, Ray Clark of Nicholasville, had the same problem with his 1959 Corvette. I was talking to Paul Stewart about the problem. He said he had just changed his 1959 El Camino over to disc brakes on the front. He said there was a disc brake kit you can order. We ordered the kit but, of course, it was not that simple. Paul said the kit had two right side brackets; no left. Paul stayed on the phone for over an hour talking to different people. They said they could not take back the extra right bracket because it would be considered a used part; "what a hassle." After waiting a week, we finally received the left bracket. It wasn't even close to fitting so Paul cut off the piece then re-welded and drilled the holes to make it fit. After that problem was solved the 14-inch rims would not fit over the calipers so we had to change to 15-inch rims and tires. After driving the car on our last tour, it drove great. No pulling to left or right. It was a much safer trip for a change AND Carolyn didn't have to put out her foot to help me stop the car. Carolyn and I would like to say a BIG thanks to Paul Stewart.
