1 Nebraska Region SCCA RE Column Dave Zitzlsperger Hello Nebraska Region SCCA! 2015 was a pretty successful year for the Region, hosting a total of 15 events including Solos, Rallycrosses, and Races. As we head into 2016, we are once again looking forward to hosting several successful events. In order to continue to have successful events, we need you, the members, to volunteer as Event Masters and workers. None of it is difficult, and we will be more than willing to help anyone who volunteers. We re not gonna just say There ya go, knock yourself out!. We all want our events to be successful. Your basic job as Event Master is to design the course. We ve all wanted to do that, so here s your chance. Everything else, like getting the Club trailer to the site, setting up timing, registration, and so on, is handled by other volunteer folks. And speaking of those other areas, we also need help there. We need some more folks to help out in the Timing and Registration areas. And we can always use more help setting up fences at the Airpark. If we get some more folks to help out in these areas, then no one person will feel like they have to do it all day, or at every event. But these are improtant things that need to be done. To that end, I m going to ask our Solo and Rallycross Chairmen to get on the phones and/ or and start trying to recruit some of you folks as Event Masters and workers. We January/February 2016 ended up having the same couple of members put on multiple events this past year, and that needs to change. Again, if we have some more volunteers, nobody feels obliged to do it all the time. The reality is, if we don t have these vital volunteers, we may need to cancel some Events, and none of us wants that. And to start things off, I am hereby volunteering to be Event Master for one of our Solo events. Who s next? Enough of that seriousness for now. How about those trophy winners at the 2015 Annual Awards banquet? Congratulations to all of our trophy winners! You all had great 2015 seasons. (Winners are listed elsewhere in this issue.) And a very big Thank You to our 100% Club members. These are the folks who attended every Nebraska Region event in These are the folks who showed up and volunteered to help at every event. And if you look back through the recent years, you will see some of these names are frequent repeats. Again, Thank You all for your continued committment to the club! We look to have a fairly full calendar this year, with 7 Rallycrosses; 7 regular Solo s, plus the MiDiv Championship event, Spring Nationals, and of course the Solo Nationals; and 1 Club Race at RPM. We have the first Rallycross of the year coming up on February 28th, followed by another on March 20. And then our first Solo of the year on April 10th. So a busy year ahead. Now, back to the garage I go, to get the Solo car ready. Hope to see you all at one of our events! Dave Zitzlsperger NRSCCA Regional Executive. NEBRASKA REGION - EXHAUST NOTES P AGE 1

Although 37 drivers are listed as 2015 champions, only 17 qualified for the hand-tooled leather director s chairs. Another dozen drivers will receive the leather seat stools given to 2nd and 3rd place. New eligibility rules this year - a driver had to do at least one non-majors weekend and needed to race, at minimum, events sanctioned by two different regions. Nonetheless, the class champion was whoever scored the most points. Nebraska Region: AS, Kim McDonald posted 8 wins in 10 starts and was the only driver to qualify a Run- Offs invitation through his MidAm participation. He won two at RPM, three at Iowa Speedway and three at Hastings. ITE, Frank Safranek won the three RPM races. He actually tied for the Championship with John Waldbaum, but Waldbaum s only starts were at Hastings. A DBF at Iowa Speedway met the minimums to earn Safranek a chair.
