Alistair, our server, pointed out the new Menus with the ULYSSES Bottomless Koffie now on print. Photo Far Right: Mark had already had his Sgt At Arms Scroll, which was awarded at the AGM, sewed onto his jacket. After breakfast, 3 headed home whilst 10 decided on a trip to the Parys Airport restaurant so that Tania could get in kms on her new Kawa and to get used to its handling and the power upgrade from her KTM. All reported home safe with last report coming in at 14h55. 3 CHAPTER AGM Saturday 14 April 2018 Members waiting for the Meeting to Commence Even though the Chapter was only inaugurated on the 14th November 2017, the start-up committee had informed all that it was ideal to remain in sync with National and that the Chapter Books should close on the 31 March 2018 and that the new financial year commencing on the 1st April 2018 for the FY 2018 /2019. Petro & Gert had offered their home as the venue for the AGM & the Social that followed the meeting. The members thanked Petro & Gert for opening up their home for the Ugly Buggers. Committee getting ready for meeting The Ladies had decided that since the cooler autumn weather was upon us that a prepared home cooked meal consisting of Gerald & Beatrix s speciality Curry & Rice, coconut, bananas & chutney served with tomato salsa & mini buns as a side. The Curry was either a Mild or Hot pot [fire extinguisher was not needed]. The members had booked their preferred choice via the Chat Group earlier in the week so Head Chef Gerald could cater accordingly. For Desert there were 3 puddings. Cremora Tart, Milk Tart & Manda s Chocolate Surprise. Where can one get a meal and pudding for R25 a head today. Compliments to all those involved in the catering arrangements. Members had brought their own cooler boxes filled with their favourite thirst quencher. There was even a special shooter mixture made from some alien ingredients so as to set the mind free. With the Pudding Serving Completed What was very encouraging was that out of the 26 Chapter Members there were only 5 that were unable to attend due to a Colours worn at the AGM with only 2 members FORGETTING their Colours at Home and therefore a hefty Fine was Considered. clash in their diaries. The weather had presented its usual West Wits Meeting weather of Intermittent Rain Showers but under the Lapa all would remain dry and there wasn't even a need to light up the fireplaces for warmth. 4 CHAPTER AGM Saturday 14 April 2018 NEW PATCH MEMBERS: It was announced to the Chapter that Philip & Belinda had been Patched at the Naughty By Nature Day Jol on the 7th April A Photo which was taken at the Jol by the Professional Cameraman & Allan [Chapter President] handed it over to Philip & Belinda. Chapter Committee as Elected/Ratified at AGM. Allan Ferguson - Chapter President Harold Van Zyl - Chapter Vice Mark Westcott - Sgt At Arms Trudie Ferguson - Treasurer Tania Spinnler - Secretary Specs Vermeulen - Road Captain Nicky Oosthuyzen - Road Captain Tania [Chapter Secretary] handing Mark [Sgt At Arms] his Road Captain Certificate. Harold [Chapter Vice] handing Specs his Road Captain Scroll after he was voted in as one of the Chapter s Road Captain. After AGM & Social a Lost Property was discovered however it was empty. 5 CHAPTER AGM Saturday 14 April 2018 JOL FOR THE MONTH OF MAY 2018 At the AGM it was discussed and agreed to that the Chapter will make this Kings Bash the May Chapter Event to be supported. It has become customary since our inauguration that the Ulysses West Wits Chapter looks at the Day Jols on the various biking calendars and then by mutual consensus would select an event to be known as the Chapter Event to Support for that particular month. Many members just can t attend a jol and or a breakfast ride each and every weekend due to other commitments. That is why when one looks at the newsletters one can see different members in attendance week by week. A suggestion has been made asking that once a month we arrange a Saturday Chapter ride. Page 5

6 Congratulations Tania over time has slowly and wisely being adding on the motor CCs. Tania had a Kawa 250 Ninja which is the ultimate starter motorcycle for a new rider and when she was comfortable on it moved up to a KTM 390 Duke which had sufficient power, ample torque, and low costs at an extremely low weight. It handled extremely well and came into its own wherever nimble agility is called for. In short: its said that no other bike offers more riding fun for your money. Tania has now moved up to a Kawa Z Supernaked Series 650cc Parallel Twin with strong low-mid range torque and an all-new lightweight chassis in a slim, compact middleweight package that offers sugomi performance and styling including ABS. The Z650's nimble handling, superb feedback and strong acceleration. Wishing Tania many happy and safe riding on her Z650 dream machine. I think this generation will have to go into separate rooms and text each other to work out their problems I changed my password to "incorrect", so anytime I forget and enter the wrong thing, the computer tells me what it is.
