I went to Pinehaven Sasol Garage to meet the riders that were going to N12 Fochville then onto PITSTOP on the P501 and join whoever couldn t go there on a short ride as I had prior arrangements to go to a friend in Pretoria. Arriving there found Andre vd Heever was already there waiting. Since arrangements changed he opted to ride with me, have a brekkie and then go proceed onto Pretoria. We went to the Bru House, it was packed as there was a group booking of 40 bikers upstairs. It took a while to get coffee and after a second cup we got our brekkie. They even ran out of orange juice, being so busy they closed the the entrance gate and showed more patrons away. We enjoyed our food and decided to do the dam wall and then take the Hennops road... Warning!! it is under reconstruction, stop and go over a long stretch and the rest of the road is so bad it needs rebuilding as well. Not a recommended route... I visited my friend and got back home safe, seeing that our Rally buddies and Charity Runners were finally home safe as well. 2 SUNDAY BREAKFAST CHARITY RUN 30 July 2017 [Continued from page 1] Motorcyclists banded together in support of needy Charity Causes and this was just such a deserving cause. The run was organised by the Fochville Wildhogs for Jaun Pierre Els being the recipient and held at the PITSTOP BOEREBAR Doornfontein along the R501. The event raised R12,400 and a donor kindly topped it up so as to reach R13,000. Chapter Vice, Kurt together with Boyd & Tania left the Speed Freaks Bundu Rally in the Free State on Sunday morning and rode through to Charity Event to join up with Allan. All 10 Presidents from clubs attending were paraded to the Comm Point. They were thanked for supporting the cause & each handed a small token of appreciation. Kurt (3rd from left in photo below) accepting the gift on vice our Chapter President, Daniel, who was laid up in bed sick. Mmmm first the Kawa was sick and when it got well and up and running the Rider gets sick - life is just not fair, is it? The Token Gift OBC with biker waist jacket After practicing the whole weekend Boyd entered the ice cold Quart Beer Drinking Competition & Unfortunately didn't win. Can you spot the Similarity? Both have a beer in the right hand! What s the difference? Kurt has a Castle Lite & Boyd a Black Label! Tania, our very own In Training Disgraceful showing the ladies & men just how to down a ice cold quart Black Label Beer. Tuff Luck only a second position. But remember Tania is still in training. The Rally event had returned back to its roots in the Free State along the N1 from Johannesburg just 15 km after Ventersburg. March 21- Kurt von Broembsen 28 - Kathy Braddon Boyd entered the 400m Sprint race on his BIG KTM and held the 2nd spot until another Busa entered and took second place. Just shows you that Endura Bikes can give the Superbikes a run for their money on acceleration. 4 SUNDAY - BIKER s CHURCH FOCHVILLE 30 July 2017 Seeing there were no Ulysses West Rand members or friends interested in the Charity Run at PITSTOP I left home at 09h00 to go meet up, at the 007 Engen Garage in Carletonville, with fellow Bikers from where we rode in mass formation to the Fochville Biker s Church to attend the service and Baptism of a biking family s little daughter. This being but a divine detour on route to the Charity Run at PITSTOP. Below some of the Back Patches of Motorcycle Clubs who attend the Biker s Church in Fochville on a regular basis. After the Biker s Church service was complete the bikers were invited to proceeded to a fellow biker s home for the adult s to be baptised. Even thou the water was cold at least the sun was out brightly and there was no wind. There were about 14 adults that undertook to be baptised that Sunday. Johan Van Eck wrote on Face Book, Awesome! Fin & Rob from the Chapter attended this Jol representing Ulysses. How is that for a T-Shirt Logo? Saturday 29th July 2017 MEGAFORCE Carletonville 2017 BOOB Run Allan attended this Day Jol representing Ulysses - West Rand where he meet and chatted to members of Ulysses - Centurion & Klerksdorp.
