1 STATUS REPORT MARCH/APRIL is on the roll and many programs, events and AGM s are at the order of the day. EDEN was the recipient of over the R2m for sport development for the 2018/19 year of which the sport community of the Eden district is proud of. The organising of the BTG that will be hosted in George this year, the 2018 Farm Workers Sport Day schedule for 12 May in Worcester and the EDENSC Sport Awards, are main projects on the Eden sport calendar. The EXCO is also steadily implementing the decisions taken at their strategic planning workshop early in January The EDENSC however remain true to its vision to serve their members in the best possible way irrespective of the financial outcome of the funding grants received. AMINISTRATION The R grant from DCAS that is now ring fenched for administration, S & T and Projects is not sufficient to service the 51 federations and 7 municipal sport councils and subsequent other methods of funding need to be investigated. This will, like last year, worked in detrimentally on the service delivery especially in the field of capacity building and commission activities. In order to streamline the operations of the EDENSC, bi-lateral meetings were held with all the commissions and the restructuring of the commissions are now a priority as the success of the EDENSC relies heavily on the work done by the commissions. MEMBERSHIP The affiliation of EDENSC is at present 51 DSF S and 7 LSC s affiliations. The target is to at least affiliate 3 more federations in At present EDENSC is proud to report that 42 of the 51 federations are now functioning under the EDEN name! The bottom line again was funding to fulfil their mandate. Regular reports on a template will be submitted and each commission is expected to at least host one major project per year. Bi-laterals will be scheduled on a regular base. 2 SWD CRICKET ANNUAL AWARDS 20 April 2018, Oudtshoorn De Opstal near Schoemanshoek was the venue of the SWD Cricket Annual Awards Function 2018 and true to the standard of CSWD this events was no different.
