5 Brian s corner P a g e 5 Hi all Green Milers, I can almost hear the clock countdown to the new year...buuut before we get there we still have 2 very important party's to conclude. Firstly the Green Mile TT this Tuesday and the social that goes with it! I hope that our Chairman and his aqua fresh team can wear more clothes this time round! If a remember well he ran in his underwear last year! For the ladies somewhat disappointing as there was not much to show. The 2nd biggest function and the last one for the year is the Club year end function. As you have seen the invitations are out and the day is going to be packed with the "boeresports" games. Its our last function so come and enjoy the day with your fellow GMilers! The annual year end function also includes the year prize giving and the most contested Drinke Broer trophy! I know the title is heavily contested and I am sure Anthonie can fit in a few more beers before then to keep the title! But be warned Grant wont give up a good fight! and also not on a castle light! The novice for the year is also up for grabs! and I know some of our novices are also waiting to see who takes this one. This weekend saw a quiet weekend in terms of racing, sorry running! It was the Voortrekker run and I saw that it s been somewhat challenging for some GMilers! Johann Schoeman I saw you did not enjoy this one...lol...but then it looked like Adri was on a Sunday stroll! On Sunday the Tough one made its present felt for some GMilers. I know Mattie just enjoyed every step of the way (sarcastic). Yet Brizilda finished ahead of him on her first 32km run! Congratulations Brizilda! (for finishing the race and also finishing ahead of Mattie). Belinda and Francis of course contributed to this achievement and just shows the massive support we have for one another in the club. So guys as the year draws to a close so does this part of the news letter with this being the second last one for year. I wish you all safe running in the holidays! and remember Comrades training starts again in 5 weeks!
