At the opening eight-round race of the Super GT 2016 Series at Okayama International circuit on April, the drivers secured an excellent 2nd place in the GT300 class in their Mercedes-Benz AMG GT3. FRANCE The talented Cyril Raymond Cyril Raymond of the Olsbergs MSE team bravely captured 2nd place in the 2016 World Rallycross Championship at the prestigious Hockenheim circuit. 2 FRANCE First success for Cyril Raymond The first race of the 2016 World Rallycross Championship took place on the prestigious circuit of Hockenheim on 6 to 8 May. Driving the RX Lites of the Olsbergs MSE team, Cyril Raymond won 2nd place in this round against the best drivers in the world. The French driver put himself in a good position in the early races by grabbing the top spot for the first two qualifiers with the best times. With a good lead (1.145 sec up in the first qualification), he was able to hold his own against the other competitors, including his main rival, Norwegian Thomas Bryntesson. Several small mechanical problems slowed down his performance. These excellent tests nevertheless meant he was in the second row on the final starting grid. At the first corner, the 23-year-old driver showed talent and tenacity to get into 2nd place behind race leader Thomas Bryntesson, and the brilliant duel between these two drivers lasted the entire race. It's a good result for the first race! I had a problem with my engine during the semi-final, but I stayed focused for the final, said Cyril. The second round of the season will take place at the Mettet circuit in Belgium.

3 Photo credit: Médiacross FRANCE Victories and podium finishes for Xavier Boog FRANCE Darian Sanayei: collector of podium finishes A newcomer to the world of the FIM EMX250 European Championship, American Darian Sanayei successfully earned a place on the podium in the first races of 2016 in the Netherlands and Germany. The young rider joined the Monster Energy Kawasaki Bud Racing team at the end of 2015 and benefited from the organisation s know-how in learning about new circuits, his opponents and the European Championship. This 19-year-old rider needs to be chosen as one of the 150 best European racers if he wants to be one of the 40 qualified riders participating in this top-level championship. My goal is to win the title, said the young rider, who has won the prestigious title of US amateur champion. Very efficient and professional on the track, motivated and well integrated into the team, Darian Sanayei has everything he needs to achieve his ambitions. The 2015 French title champion, Xavier Boog, has performed brilliantly at the French MX1 Motocross Championship with great successes at Romagné (2nd and 1st place) and Castelnau (1st and 2nd place). Franck Deloof, of FUCHS LUBRIFIANT FRANCE, enjoyed Boog s memorable moments together with clients. With only two rounds to go before the end of the season, Xavier Boog is a serious title contender. He intends to get the best out of his talent to achieve his goal. The 28-yearold rider will continue his season in the SX European Supercross next June. He will also defend the FUCHS Silkolene colours on 4 and 5 June at the MXGP World Championship of Saint-Jean d'angély (FR), at which many FUCHS guests are expected. Photo credit: Médiacross FRANCE Nicolas Dercourt: Quest for the title Photo credit: Médiacross In his relentless chase for the French MX2 Motocross champion title, Nicolas Dercourt of the Monster Energy Kawasaki Bud Racing team won four brilliant podium finishes in the last rounds of the championship. This rider, who has been racing on the Motocross circuit for as long as he can remember, has the know-how and undeniable experience to compete against 65 competitors in this championship. Upcoming events: Ernee on 11 and 12 June, Iffendic on 16 and 17 July.

The fifth of the 13 rounds of the 2016 FIM World Superbike Championship took place at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari at Imola on 30 April and 1 May. Rider Lorenzo Savadori of the Iodaracing team crossed the finish line in 8th place in race 1 and in 11th place in race 2. His team-mate Alex De Angelis finished 15th in the first race and 14th in the second. Both riders gained championship points and Lorenzo Savadori is in 8th place in the world ranking, with Alex De Angelis in 15th. The mechanics had just enough time to make the necessary improvements and prepare the bikes for the Sepang circuit for the sixth round on 14 and 15 May. The second race of the Malaysian round of the Superbike saw Alex De Angelis achieve his best result of the season, while Lorenzo Savadori finished with points for his overall ranking. They overcame race conditions that were far from optimal as a result of torrential rain on the circuit. Lap by lap, Alex De Angelis was particularly effective in managing the bike in these wet conditions, with a pace close to that of the leading group. De Angelis battled with the Dutch Honda rider until the last of the 16 laps of the Superbike race, finishing in 7th place. Lorenzo Savadori s race proved more difficult, with the rider not feeling entirely at ease on his Aprilia RSV4RF on the wet circuit. The Iodaracing team rider nevertheless did everything possible to stay in the points, ending his race in 14th place. Alex de Angelis said: I ll settle for this position after a difficult and very long race. The team has been helping me find the right set-up. We are getting closer to ideal conditions, but I am still not racing as I would like and hope to do so soon.

5 Photo credit: Andrea Bardi ITALY Jordi Torres close to podium finish at Imola and Sepang A fantastic result was achieved by Jordi Torres at the first of the weekend s home SBK (Superbike World Championship) races at the Imola circuit on 30 April and 1 May. The rider battled it out with the other competitors near the front to finish race 1 in 4th position. For Markus Reiterberger, it was a more difficult outing, which saw him finish in 13th place. On 14 and 15 May, the Sepang International circuit in Malaysia welcomed these highly motivated and courageous riders. Spaniard Jordi Torres managed his race effectively and scored his best result in race 1, with a 4th place finish. German Markus Reiterberger rode his BMW S1000 RR bike over the finish line and won some important points for the standings by finishing the race in 10th place. After round six, Spaniard Jordi Torres lies 7th in the overall standings, while Markus Reiterberger is 13th. BMW is 4th in the manufacturers classification, while Althea BMW is also 4th in the team rankings. Jordi Torres said: With the rain we knew it would be difficult, but it helped us to understand more about the bike s behaviour in the wet and how we are fixed in terms of traction control. I was able to understand a lot of things and the data we ve collected will be useful. Considering the conditions, we weren t too far from the leaders in terms of time and we take a positive view of this as we continue working to prepare as well as we can for the next race in Donington. In the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup, after his excellent 3rd place at the Aragon circuit, Raffaele De Rosa the team s third rider was victorious in the Netherlands, beating 27 other riders. The Naples-born rider continued his good performance and won his third podium finish of the season on the Imola circuit in Italy. He currently ranks 2nd in the overall championship standings with his BMW S1000 RR. All the team s riders are preparing for the next Grand Prix in Great Britain.

6 AUSTRIA FUCHS: the main sponsor of the Mountain EM Landshaag in St. Martin ITALY Nicolas Covatti in front everywhere After his first victory in the first round of the Speedway Individual Italian Championship at the Pista Olimpia in Terenzano, Nicolas Covatti repeated this performance on the Santa Marina di Lonigo circuit with a magnificent 2nd place on the podium. After these two events, he ranks 1st overall and is currently tied with his team-mate from the MC Olimpia team, Michele Paco Castagna. The 28-year-old rider is also involved in the Individual Speedway World Championship. This international championship brings together riders from Poland, Germany, France, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Austria, Denmark, Ukraine, Sweden, Russia, the Netherlands and Slovakia. Competing with 20 outstanding riders, Nicolas Covatti a recent winner of the Argentinian Championship just missed out on a podium finish and placed 4th in the second round in Mureck, Austria. Two days later, on Saturday 7 May, the rider finished 6th on the Terenzano circuit in Italy. The next round will take place in Olching in Germany and the semifinals in Lonigo (Italy) in early July a great programme for the FUCHS rider. For the third time, FUCHS AUSTRIA SCHMIERSTOFFE was the proud main-sponsor of the Uphill Motorbike EM race in Landshaag, St. Martin one of the rounds of the prestigious Motorcycle European Championship. More than 250 riders were involved in this impressive event and more than 10,000 enthusiastic spectators enjoyed the races. Riders like Petra Fischer, Manuel Schleindlhuber, Josef Frauenschuh and Georg Albrecht achieved major success at this FUCHS event. Andreas Gangl scored a new track-record of 1 min 09 sec 94 and an average speed of 186km/h on the 3,6km race track. Markus Kollenz, head of application engineering from FUCHS AUSTRIA SCHMIERSTOFFE, and his colleagues were in a nice FUCHS Silkolene tent in the heart of the paddock, where they were able to welcome riders and visitors and tell them about the latest FUCHS lubricants. The winners had the opportunity to be given some FUCHS Silkolene products from the FUCHS team.

7 BENELUX Jürgen Van Hover makes a strong start! This season, racers of the Benelux Porsche GT3 Cup and the French Porsche Carrera Cup will compete together in four of the six calendar events. The first race of this joint challenge took place on 6 and 7 May on the legendary and magnificent Spa-Francorchamps track. It provided great entertainment to a large number of spectators and motorsport fans. This year s new format offers both professional and amateur racing. Driver Jürgen Van Hover wore the colours of FUCHS in class B in his Porsche 991 GT3 Cup. He shares the Speedlover with his team-mate Pierre-Yves Paque, increasing their sponsors chances of getting visibility on the podium. All the cars are identical, and the championship brings out the drivers quality and best performance, which makes all the difference on the circuit. At the end of their two Belgians races, the Benelux man ended up with two brilliant victories in class B, despite a tire deflation problem in race 2. He finished 2nd behind Dylan Derdaele in the general overall classification. 8 CZECH REPUBLIC Masterful racing by the FUCHS riders! Mariánské Lázne (Marienbad) hosted the International Long Speedway Championship on 8 May. Josef Franc, who rides for the FUCHS Silkolene Racing team, did everything possible to impose his leadership on this toplevel motorsport event. But despite all his effort and talent, the 2015 title champion faced serious rivals for victory. After some magnificent contests, German FUCHS rider Stephan Katt won 1st place, his fellow countryman Markus Eibl was 2nd and Josef Franc finished in 3rd place. This very well-known speedway rider wears FUCHS Silkolene colours in all his races, and uses FUCHS Silkolene products. On 16 July, he will participate in the FIM Speedway Long Track World Championship on the same circuit and the races already promise to be very exciting. This great event will bring together riders from Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Great Britain and the Czech Republic. 9 CZECH REPUBLIC Thrilling spectacle at Vysker FUCHS OIL CORP. (CZ) was the main sponsor of the traditional FUCHS Oil Traktoriada, a highly popular and fair-spirited event offering races and tractor exhibition. The 10th event took place in Vysker in North Bohemia on 23 April and as usual attracted more than 3,000 spectators fascinated by these extraordinary and unusual races. This tractor event involved 50 drivers, including six women as well as 110 children aged between six and nine, competing in five categories. These real off-road tractors fought to avoid all the pitfalls and difficulties of the race, including mud, ruts and vertical drops! The winners were given the opportunity to benefit from numerous gifts, including FUCHS lubricants and other goodies. The organisers set up a drawing contest called Draw your tractor, and 76 children took part in this challenge. These highly popular competitions attracted the attention of a lot of media outlets, such as TV Nova, TV Barrandov and Czech Radio North, explained Pavel Bína of FUCHS. Given the success of this event, the organisers are already working on the 11th edition.

10 JAPAN Excellent podium finish for FUCHS and Abe Shokai Ltd FUCHS local distributor Abe Shokai Ltd and FUCHS JAPAN LTD, made a successful start to their second season of sponsoring Goodsmile Racing & TeamUkyo in the 2016 Super GT Series (GT300 and GT500). Involving 45 cars, this competition is one of the most popular car races in Japan and attracted more than 410,000 spectators in Goodsmile Racing & TeamUkyo and their drivers Nobuteru Taniguchi and Tatsuya Kataoka won their first podium finish of 2016 in the GT300 class with the latest model of Mercedes-Benz AMG GT3. 11 SOUTH AFRICA Lance Isaacs: on track for the SuperM title The third round of the Super-GP Championship took place at the Zwartkops Raceway near Pretoria. Unbeaten in the SuperM, FUCHS rider Lance Isaacs now had hopes of imposing himself in the SuperGP class. Although the BMW S1000RR isn t made for the Zwartkops Raceway, team engineer Dean Ferreira immediately established a good set-up and Lance clocked the second fastest time in the SuperGP in practising and stayed in the top five in the qualifying rounds. Lance Isaacs messed up at the beginning of race 1, dropping back to 15th place in the first corner. But with hard work and some daring overtaking he climbed into 8th place by the end of the race, after finding his rhythm. This was disappointing for me, even though I won the SuperM race, explained the racer. The FUCHS rider took to the starting line of race 2 more motivated than ever. He had every chance of competing for top spot with a 3rd place front-row position on the grid. For the first time in my 26 years of racing I made a jump start, said Lance. He eventually finished the race in 2nd place. I was in a position to fight for top place, which shows that we have the pace to compete with our counterparts. Although a podium finish was out of reach because of a 30-second penalty, the clear field still gave Lance the chance to win the SuperM race and make it six out of six wins in this class. 8th place overall for the day in the SuperGP class is not a true reflection of where we are at the moment. I am happy with the lap times and the competitiveness of the bike and Dean deserves a lot of credit for it. It makes me confident that I will be competing for top spot again for the rest of the season. With my home-town race of Cape Town coming up in a few weeks, I am ready to do exactly that: go back to winning.

12 GREAT BRITAIN Mighty Morgan wins in Thruxton thriller FUCHS LUBRICANTS (UK) PLC sponsored Ciceley Motorsport driver Adam Morgan enjoyed a superb weekend in the British Touring Car Championship at Thruxton, Hampshire, the highlight being a second win of the season in his Mercedes-Benz A-Class along with another two podium finishes. This fantastic set of results makes Adam the first driver to score a hat-trick of weekend podium finishes for several seasons and moves him into 3rd position in the drivers standings. It s been an unbelievable weekend, said Adam. Three podium finishes are just amazing and I can t thank the WIX Racing team enough. The car has felt better than ever. It s been our best weekend ever in the championship and to be in contention for the championship lead is a huge deal! GREAT BRITAIN Brown named Star Performer with final-round victory in Wales Needing to secure victory at the final round of the REIS MSA Asphalt Rally Championship to stand any chance of taking the B9 title, Rochdale rally star Steve Brown duly came up with the goods as he took a class win at the Old Forge Garage Mewla Rally in Wales. After leading from the opening test across the Epynt Military Ranges, Brown scored his second-class win of his debut year with the new Nissan Micra Kit Car, and was named John Horton Motorsport Management Star Performer in the process. But even this sizeable victory under his belt was not enough to secure the sought-after class B9 title. We did everything we could but it sadly still wasn t enough. Ian Barnard took 2nd today, meaning we finish just two points behind him in the championship. GREAT BRITAIN Triple podium for Woodward in Thundersport Gary Woodward of the Able team had a great weekend at a very sunny Snetterton in the Thundersport GP1 Sportsman. After a shaky start off the grid in his first race on Saturday, Gary finished on the podium in 3rd place before claiming another 3rd and 2nd place finish in the televised Sunday races.

13 GREAT BRITAIN Promising start for Ryan Cooke in BCCC Greenwood saves the day FUCHS LUBRICANTS (UK) PLC sponsored speedway star Ollie Greenwood s late heroics inspired Buxton Hitmen to a victory over his former Coventry Storm team. Coventry were one point ahead going into heat 15 and Buxton team manager Jason Pipe nominated Greenwood and Ryan Blacklock to battle it out in the final heat, with Greenwood winning the race and his team-mate finishing 3rd to turn the final outcome on its head. Round 1 of the 2016 British Cross Country Championship (BCCC) saw FUCHS LUBRICANTS (UK) PLC sponsored Ryan Cooke setting the top three stage times of the weekend to place him comfortably in 2nd place after the first day. His continued good form on day two was unfortunately brought to an end when the team suffered an electrical fault, forcing Ryan to retire and settle for 10th overall and 3rd in class. Round 2 at Bovington was a closely matched contest, as only 17 seconds divided the top three after day one. An overnight downpour made for a damp day two, but a very pleased Ryan was able to secure 2nd place overall. GREAT BRITAIN Paige triumphs in a tricky weekend for the Bellerbys Weather conditions were the toughest yet for the Bellerby team, with even the track s gravel section turning into thick mud. Round three of the British Rallycross Series was hard for Drew and Paige, as a slippery circuit limited both of them to 9th place overall in their respective divisions. Round four held a change of fortune in store for Paige however, as she claimed wins in both her semi-final and final. Double delight for CA1 Sport at home rally It was a case of home sweet home for FUCHS-backed CA1 Sport as the team enjoyed a double celebration on their local round of the MSA British Rally Championship (BRC) with a maiden stage win and driver Fredrik Ahlin claiming 1st place in the overall standings. CA1 team-mate David Bogie almost joined Ahlin on the podium, but spun off the track on the final day, surrendering his 2nd place standing.

14 AUSTRALIA Short Bus Motorcycle Drag Racing team participates in Competition Bike Race The Short Bus Motorcycle Drag Racing team entered the Competition Bike Race, in which a minimum bike and rider weight of kg per litre of engine capacity is required. For the Short Motorcycle Drag Racing team, with their 1397cc engine, the minimum weight was kg. Weighing in at 392.6kg, rider Mick Withers was a comfortable 51.58kg over the minimum. Testing on the Wednesday before the Nitro Champs was great. Mick managed six passes and finished with new personal bests. The 60-foot time of shows he was working hard. That s a good time for a bike and rider that weighs nearly 400kg. The only change from previous meetings was a larger rear sprocket and a fresh batch of FUCHS Silkolene PRO 4 10W-40 XP in the sump. Leonard from Azzopardi Racing went through the basics with Mick, reminding him of what he had to do. The primary objective was a reaction time of under 0 sec 100. Starting-line roles were defined and he went up to the staging lanes for the first qualifying pass. When Mick left the line, Leonard expected to see a red light, but went into a state of near-shock when he saw the reaction time on the finish-line boards. The team wishes it had a photo of it. Mick had produced a best-ever reaction time of 0 sec 002. The rest of the pass was pretty good but still put in the shade by that reaction time! A was within a second of the index. That red light saved Mick from a potentially dangerous situation when Terry Jackson set off. The rear slick tire on the turbo s Suzuki spun and sent the bike left into the empty space behind Mick. Completely unaware of any of this, Mick completed his pass and then pulled up alongside Terry who was parked on the return road. Ken was also racing in Comp Bike on his 1441cc Hayabusa. At the end, Mick and Ken were paired up for the first round. With a laugh, Mick bet Ken that he d beat him on reaction times a great idea, but Mick then red-lighted a second time.
