Throughout the year we have run another successful rally, our 21st to be exact, had our 30th year celebration, held a successful overnight ride, and ridden our bikes, representing the club, all over from Goulburn in the south to Evans Head in the North and anywhere in between. Individual club members have ridden much further afield on their personal journeys. Really what more could you ask for, well a continuation into the Next and many further years is what. The 30th year celebration went well in the Showgrounds Pavilion With 60 members bikes lining the wall, thanks to everyone that helped make make this a great night. I have given over the history of the club write up to the magazine editors to publish, cerhaps a small bit each issue? Anyway that s up to them. Just seeing everyone on the night and experiencing the camaraderie was brilliant. Speaking of which Christmas is just around the corner and our Christmas afternoon BBQ will be on this coming weekend, a nice relaxing time with friends. Our next meeting will be the first rally organising meeting late in January, anyone interested in helping out and taking on a task is asked to show up and become part of the rally organising committee, many hands make light work. I will take this opportunity to wish all a very Merry Christmas and And wish you all the best for the New Year. Scott. OUTWARD CORRESPONDENCE ; ~ A text message to Sue George regarding some sponsorship for Neighbourhood Centre MOVED; Les Wilkes SECONDED; Richard Helm GENERAL BUSINESS; ~ Our two guests, Brian Sainsbury and Brett Goodfellow were voted in and welcomed as new members ~ Our treasurer s report for the month of October is to be presented at the December meeting ~ Scott read out the list of members participating to the Moonan overnight stay and a trailer is organised for the backup he also thanked the members showing up for the Ace Tyre photo shoot and stated that the anniversary event went well, thanking all that participated and special than ks to Sue Laut, Darren s wife, for spending a lot of time organising the DVD that was showing through the night ~ Christmas lunch to be at McNamara Park, Broke, on Sunday 4th, starting at 11am, should be discussed further at next monthly meeting ~ Bill Waugh made a mention regarding the Gentleman s ride and the cervical cancer ride in February ~ Martin Charles motioned that Denis Paget, a former member, should be rewarded for his consistent participation in club acti vities, seconded by Chris Rose, voted and passed; an oil pan was suggested by Swanny with a DVD of our club s past ~ DVD s are available from Sue Laut at a cost of $20 ~ Hampo is taking orders for dressed up shirts RALLY MATTERS 3

Didyuhearbout the tall skinny guy at our 30th anniversary?? He lost his very expensive Designer Sunnies he looked high and low under all bikes, seats, in petrol tanks! Everywhere in fact- alas his Uncle found em -on the roof of his vehicle! The skinny guy was so relieved almost in tears he was, but grateful to his poor old uncle- overwhelmed he hugged and kissed his old uncle!!! Nice one. NB :- All Dates/Times to be confirmed 4

6 Zephyr Cafe Ride- a good rollup of members ready to enjoy a great ride and a morning tea, a once a month ride welcome to all members. The following months Zephyr Café Ride- Wed 16 Nov 2016 Terry Dunn s reporttwelve (12) riders and one (1) car gathered at Townhead Park for the Zephyr Café mid-week ride. Much discussion took place on how we could use the BMW sports car as a breakdown vehicle. As both Martin s bikes were off the road he still wanted to join the mid-week crew. We were also joined by two(2) members of the Newcastle British Motorcycle Club, Howard Hardy and Bob Tolley. We set out at 9.30am via Bulga, Broke, Payne s Crossing for a morning tea stop at Wollombi. After cake and coffee we farewelled a member who had to return home. Then on to Millfield, Paxton, Ellalong and Quorrobolong (try saying that with a mouthful of marbles!!), then onto Mount Sugarloaf, once there the members sprang into action cooking a great Bar.b.que lunch. We farewelled our Newcastle guests and members, some of the grandfathers were required back home for school pick-up duties they travelled home by the highway; other members enjoyed coffee and travelled home through the vineyards. It was a great day enjoyed by all. 6

9 WAKEFIELD PARK ALL HISTORIC RACE MEETING Shortcut to Wakefield Park 2016.txt.lnk Wakefield park pics by Bill Waugh -----written by Bill Waugh A combined bike and car race meeting was organised to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first historic race meeting which was held at the now sadly gone Amaroo Park in The organisers made the decision to restrict entries to the same era as the original, meaning cars up to 1960 and period 3 and earlier (up to 1963) motorcycles and sidecars. My friend Rod was intending to enter his Norton outfit and i was going to assist him. Rod wasn't able to have his bike ready in time but Linda and i decided to go anyway to support the event as i am keen on early race bikes especially P3 and earlier. Hadn't been to Wakefield before so arrived Saturday morning with no real expectations. On arriving was greeted by Noel Green who was assisting in Ken Lucas's pits. Ken had arrived with a F350 with 10 historics loaded on back as well as a motorhome with the bikes he was riding. His famous Douglas, a 250 Manx, 2 Tritons and a G50. Ken is 86 and still competing, as the saying goes "you dont stop riding when you get old, you get old when you stop riding" the bikes were organised into 2 groups of solos plus the outfits and the "ride group" non competition entries. First group were the unlimited and senior (500cc), second group were the smaller capacity and class C prewar. Saturdays racing was first class with few incidents some people were seriously fast and others had come out of retirement to support the event and all put on a good show. Most succesful unlimited rider was Garth Francis on a Norton Atlas he also won all sidecar events.cont, 9

10 on another Norton. He was chased by Jim Scaysbrook on his G50 leading the seniors in each race. the second group was dominated by Jonathon Houston on his incredibly quick and well ridden Motobi , 750 sidevalve harleys and indians raced in this group the quickest was Ross Bolding on his Harley but he just couldn't get past a Rudge 500 4v for the class win. Sunday started with the weather looking ominous and by the time the first bike race started it was raining. several riders fell causing restarts and was called after two restarts. The second group raced without incident. as did the sidecars. The second seniors/unlimited race saw Jim Scaysbrook leading until he fell causing another stoppage. rain was falling heavily by this stage but while some packed up most continued. The next was won by Charley Palmer on his Harley WL also successfully completed were the handicap events great fun to watch. All in all it was a great event with some outstanding motorcycles too see, great racing and Sundays weather didnt dampen the enthusiasm just the track. Classic racing in NSW has been dominated for some time now by Post Classics so it was great to see full fields and riders willing to travel from interstate to support the event, i hope it isnt the last
