Penguins Third in 3-Point Shooting in League Play Over the last 14 games, Youngstown State has been one of the top 3-point shooting team in the Horizon League. The Penguins rank third in the league with a point percentage and ranks fourth with pointers made per game. YSU also leads the league with 14.3 offensive rebounds per game and rank second in rebounding margin in Horizon League contests with a Robinson Net Career High, Leads HL In the loss to Northern Kentucky, junior Tyree Robinson posted a career-high 19 points on 9-of-10 shooting from the floor. Robinson also dished out three assists with a pair of steals and block. Robinson leads the league with a.621 overall field-goal percentage. Against league opponents, Robinson owns a.609 field-goal percentage, which ranks second. Bohannon Board Crashing Freshman Naz Bohannon is becoming one of the Horizon League s top rebounders. Over the last 18 games, Bohannon has grabbed 158 rebounds for an average of 8.8 per game. Bohannon ranks fourth in the Horizon League with 7.8 rebounds per game and is averaging 8.8 rebounds in league play, which ranks fourth. He has recorded five double-digit rebound games and had at least six rebounds in 22 of 27 games. A Win Would Give Youngstown State its seventh win over Oakland. Morse became just the second player in school history with at least 1,800 career points and 200 made 3-pointers. He ranks second all-time with 221 3s and sixth with 1,829 points. Morse also moved into the top 10 in career assists and career steals. He ranks eighth with 309 assists and ninth with 120 career steals. Bohannon Doublin Up Freshman Naz Bohannon back-to-back double-doubles for the first time in his career with 11 points and a career-best 15 rebounds against Wright State on Jan. 15. He also posted the second double-double of his career with career bests in points (13) and rebounds (12) against Detroit Mercy on Jan. 12. He is the first YSU freshman to record at least three double-doubles in the same season since joining the Horizon League in Bohannon is the first YSU freshman since to post multiple double-doubles in the same season. Ferguson Turns In Career-Best Performance Sophomore Jeremiah Ferguson scored a career-high 21 points on a career-best 8-of-12 shooting from the floor against Oakland on Jan. 10. It marked the first 20-point game of Ferguson s career. Morse Nets First Career Double-Double Senior Cameron Morse has moved to point guard this season and he seems to relish the role. He posted the first double-double of his career with 13 points and 11 assists against Cleveland State on Jan. 1. The last player to record a point-assist double-double was Francisco Santiago against Canisius on Nov. 26, Hartfield Nets Career Highs Sophomore Braun Hartfield turned in a career night in the Penguins loss to Canisius on Nov. 18. The Cleveland, Ohio, native scored a careerhigh 33 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the field, including a career-high-tying five 3-pointers. His previous high was 22 points against Cleveland State in the first round of the 2017 Horizon League Championship. Penguins Sign Three During Early Signing Period Youngstown State signed three players to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period. The Penguins added guards Darius Quisenberry (Huber Heights, Ohio), Jelani Simmons (Columbus, Ohio) and Atiba Taylor (Hackensack, N.J.). Calhoun, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, spent the last five seasons as the head coach at Fairmont State and accumulated an overall record of He guided FSU to the NCAA Division II Tournament in each of the last three years and four times overall. The Falcons won at least 20 games in each of his five seasons and won nearly 80 percent of their conference games.
