21 Drill Explanations 1 on 1's-Dodging from different areas on the field. 1 on 1 on 1 GB's-Line up two lines on the sideline per group. Add a third player in between the two lines. Have a coach or goalie in between the two lines and roll a ball out. All three players will fight for the ball. When one player picks up the ball and passes to the coach, the coach will then roll the ball out to the remaining two players to fight for it. The player who doesn't pick up the ball returns to the middle line. 2 on 2's-Line up four lines, two attack lines behind the net, and two adjacent midfielder lines up the wings. The short stick will play defense on the midfielders and long sticks on the attackmen. The drill will start on one side having a midfielder and an attackman attack the net, followed by two attackmen behind, followed by an attackman and a midfielder on the other side of the field. 3 on 2 From Behind-In this drill the coach rolls the ball out above the box as two offensive players stay above GLE and one attack goes to X. The players get the ball back to X, where the X man initiates the offense. The X man must draw a man so that he creates a 2 v 1, leaving a teammate open on the crease. 4 on 4 Diamond Shape-Groups of four on offense and defense, long sticks will stay on defense and attackmen will stay on offense. Midfielders will play both offense and defense. Have the offensive players start in a diamond shape. Offensive players can dodge from any four spots and run games with each other. 4 on 4-Continuous From behind-place the nets facing opposing direction approximately 10 yards apart. Split into two teams. Form two lines on each restraining line with the respective teams on their side. Groups of four (two players from each line) will go and play offense, defense, and then off. Once a goal is scored, a shot saved or a turnover, the first four players in the line break up looking to attack the net. From front-place the nets facing each other approximately 30 yards apart. Split into two teams. Form two lines on each restraining line with the respective teams on their side. Groups of four (two players from each line) will go and play offense, defense, and then off. Once a goal is scored, a shot saved or a turnover, the first four players in the line break up looking to attack the net. Feeders-place the nets facing each other approximately 30 yards apart. Split into two teams. Form two lines on each restraining line with the respective teams on their side. Groups of four (two players from each line) will go and play offense, defense, and then off. Once a goal is scored, a shot saved or a turnover, the first four players in the line break up looking to attack the net. The goalies will pass to the coach, who will place themselves on the GLE. Players will work to get open without the ball.

22 5 on 5 Continuous-Place on net in the crease and another net on the center line. Line up two attackmen and two defenders on the GLE on opposing sides of the net. Form two midfielder lines outside the field on the GLE. This is the same principle as 4 on 4 except the midfielders are the only ones rotating from offense to defense. 5 Man Line Drill-Shuttle drill, groups of five progress through the following: ball down, left hand out, catch right throw left, behind the back, right hand out, catch left throw right, behind the back, man out. 54 Half Field-Place three attackmen on offense in a triangle shape (two just below GLE, the other at X or on the crease). Have four defenders set up in a box and have two lines of players well past the restraining line. Two players from the lines up top will attack the net with a ball, initially moving it low to the attackmen. After the drill is over the two top defenders will go to the top line, the bottom two will take position at the top of the box and the two from the top line will occupy the two low spots, as the drill will start over. Full Field-Place three attackmen on offense in a triangle shape (two just below GLE, the other at X or on the crease). Have four defenders set up in a box and have two lines of players well past the restraining line. Do this on both sides of the field. Two players will attack the net with a ball, initially moving it low to the attackmen. After the drill is over the two top defenders will break out and attack on offense, the bottom two will take the position at the top of the box and two new players will enter from the sideline. 54/43- Place three attackmen on offense in a triangle shape (two just below GLE, the other at X or on the crease). Have three long sticks enter on defense (this can be done on both ends or only one). Form three lines of midfielders and LSM's on the wings. Two outside lines are on the same team, while the player in the middle is not. Have a coach in the faceoff circle roll a ball towards the line. As a 2 on 1 ground ball takes place. If the two teammates pick up the ball it will be a 54, if the lone player picks up the ball he will attack on a on 6 (Half Field)-Half-field controlled scrimmage. 7 Man Line Drill-Place seven lines near the midline. Four of the lines (O, D, O, D, O, D, O) will be on offense while the remaining three will be on defense. A coach will roll or throw a ball to one of the offensive lines, as the defenders rush back. The offensive players will attack 4 on 3 quickly. Attack Individual-Attack dodging and shooting variations. Diamond Passing-Create four lines in a diamond. Start with the ball moving clockwise and all players with sticks in their left hand as they run and pass to the adjacent line. Move to catch right, throw left. Followed by stepping to the ball, rolling and passing. Repeat counter-clockwise with right hand-out.

23 Full Field-Full field scrimmage. GB/OTS-Groups of three. Have two players start approximately 20 yards apart with the third running towards the other line with a ball and pass to the player in the outside line. After receiving the pass, the player will pass back to the individual who will catch it and put it on the ground for the player on the outside line to pick it up and run in the other direction. Repeat this process. Progress to a break out pass instead of putting the ball on the ground. Individual Shooting-Individual attack and midfielder shooting variations. Skeleton Offense/Defense-Running through offensive/defensive repetitions without opposition.
