Victoria Rampado led the Purple Eagles with 20 points and 10 rebounds, recording her MAAC-leading seventh double-double of the season. Jai Moore added a career-high 15 points for NU, as well as making her first career 3-pointer. Kaylee Stroemple had 10 points and Jamie Sherburne led the team in assists with four. Niagara In The MAAC The Purple Eagles are the third-highest scoring offense in the MAAC, averaging 65.0 points per game. Niagara leads the MAAC in free throw percentage (78.7%) and is third in field goal percentage (39.8%). Victoria Rampado leads the league in scoring with 20.0 points per game and is second in rebounding with 9.6 rebounds per game. Jamie Sherburne is second in the MAAC in assists, averaging 4.3 assists per game. She is also second in free throw percentage (90.5%). Maggie McIntyre leads the MAAC in 3-point field goal percentage (46.5%). Rampado Named MAAC Player Of The Week Victoria Rampado was named MAAC Player of the Week for the second time this season on Tuesday, Dec. 26 following the Purple Eagles 2-0 week against Buffalo and Colgate. Rampado tied her career-high with 27 points against Buffalo and recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 22 points and 11 rebounds against Colgate. On the week, she averaged 24.5 points per game and 10.0 rebounds per game. Rampado was also named MAAC Player of the Week on Monday, Nov. 27 following her performance in the South Point Shootout. Rampado led her team in both scoring and rebounding in both the Purple Eagles games in the tournament. She averaged 23.0 points per game, 9.5 rebounds per game and 1.5 steals per game. She went 15-for-28 from the field (53.6%) and 15- for-16 (93.8%) from the charity stripe. Scarbrough leads the MAAC in field goal percentage (50.3%) and is seventh in the conference in both scoring and rebounding. Guard Deja Rawls has the fifth-most assists in the MAAC, averaging 3.6 assists per game, and forward Maddie Sims is fifth in the conference in blocked shots with 1.1 blocks per game. Feb. 16, Siena W, Current Streak...Siena W2 Coach Pierce vs. Siena Beating The Bulls In their last time out, the Purple Eagles defeated Big 4 rival Buffalo, 75-62, for the first time since Niagara snapped the Bulls 12-game series win streak and took the advantage in the all-time series, Victoria Rampado led the Purple Eagles with 27 points, tying her career-high. Maggie McIntyre had a career-high eight rebounds and Jamie Sherburne had seven assists to tie her career-high. Welcome To The 1,000 Point Club Senior forward Kaylee Stroemple surpassed 1,000 career points in the Purple Eagles victory over Louisiana Tech on Sunday, Nov. 26. Stroemple is the 24th player in Niagara women s basketball history to reach that milestone. South Point Shootout The Purple Eagles competed in the South Point Thanksgiving Shootout from Nov in Las Vegas, Nevada. The South Point Shootout was the first in-season tournament Niagara had competed in since the season when the team competed in the Winthrop Classic in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The Purple Eagles fell to Louisiana, 68-52, in their first game of the tournament. Victoria Rampado led the team with 19 points and 13 rebounds, recording her second double-double of the season. Niagara picked up its first win of the season on Nov. 26, defeating Louisiana Tech, Rampado led the team in scoring with 27 points to tie her careerhigh and also had a team-high six rebounds. Rampado was named to the South Point Shootout All-Tournament Team at the conclusion of the tournament.

Rampado had 12 points and a career-high 15 rebounds, while Stroemple scored 11 points and brought down 11 rebounds Rampado, Stroemple Earn Preseason Honors Forwards Victoria Rampado and Kaylee Stroemple both earned Preseason All- MAAC honors. Rampado was named to the Preseason All-MAAC First Team for the second stright season. Her 16.8 points per game in led the MAAC and she was fourth in rebounding with 7.9 rebounds per game. She also finished third in the conference in free throw percentage, making 122 of 153 attempts for a percentage of.797. Stroemple was selected to the Preseason All-MAAC Third Team for the second straight season. Stroemple was second in the MAAC in field goal percentage (.512), 11th in scoring (13.0 ppg) and 13th in rebounding (6.0 rpg). Fresh Faces Niagara welcomes two newcomers to the squad, guard Claire Wanzer and forward Emerald Ekpiteta. Wanzer is a local product, recruited from Amherst High School in Amherst, N.Y. Wanzer surpassed 1,000 career points in her junior season and set the Amherst High School single-game scoring record with 39 points. She averaged 16.0 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game in her high school career. Wanzer was a two-time All-Western New York selection was named to the All-ECIC III First Team three times. Ekpiteta, from London, England, played for the City of London Academy, part of the Women s Elite Academy Basketball League (WEABL). She averaged 14.9 points per game, 8.7 rebounds per game and 1.7 steals per game during the season en route to a WEABL National Championship. Purple Points Niagara returns nine letterwinners from last year s squad which went 8-22 overall and 5-15 in the MAAC. Redshirt-senior forward Victoria Rampado returns for her final season on Monteagle Ridge. Rampado led the conference in scoring in with 16.8 points per game and was fourth in rebounding with 7.9 rebounds per game. Rampado was named to the All-MAAC Second Team at the conclusion of the season. Seniors Kaylee Stroemple (forward) and Jamie Sherburne (guard) also enter their final season with the Purple and White. Stroemple was second on the team in scoring (13.0 ppg) and rebounding (6.0 rpg) in Sherburne averaged 5.6 points per game and 2.0 rebounds per game. The junior class includes guard Kharysma Bryant and forward Adila Gathers. The Purple Eagles also welcome back sophomores Maggie McIntyre (guard), Morgan Baughman (guard), Jai Moore (guard) and Dagny Davidsdottir (forward). McIntyre and Baughman saw significant playing time in their freshman season; McIntyre started in 23 games and Baughman started in 29 out of 30 total games.

11 JADA PIERCE HEAD COACH Third Season At Niagara Fifth Season Overall Jada Pierce, who has 20 years of collegiate coaching experience at the Division I and II levels, begins her third season as head coach of the Niagara University women s basketball program. The Purple Eagles played one of the most difficult non-conference schedules in the country in Niagara opened the season with a win over Little 3 rival St. Bonaventure, the teams first victory over the Bonnies since Niagara faced two nationally ranked teams, welcoming then-no. 6/5 Maryland to the Gallagher Center on Nov. 20 and playing at then-no. 20/19 Syracuse on Dec. 10. Following the season, Victoria Rampado was named to the All-MAAC Second Team and six players were named to the MAAC All-Academic Team. Pierce earned her first win as coach of the Purple Eagles, as well as her first win in the Gallagher Center, on Nov. 27, 2015 in a thrilling victory over Cleveland State. She picked up her first conference win against Fairfield; Niagara defeated the Stags, 56-55, on Jan. 4, Pierce also led the team in an upset against local rival Canisius in the first round of the MAAC Tournament; the ninth-seeded Purple Eagles defeated the eighth-seeded Golden Griffins, 65-64, to move onto the quarterfinals and take on top-seeded Quinnipiac. Following the season, senior center Sam Lapszynski, who thrived under Pierce, was named to the All-MAAC Second Team. Lapszynski was also one of 20 student-athlete recipients of the 14th Annual Division I-AAA Athletic Directors Association Scholar Athlete Teams. All seven eligible members of the Purple Eagles squad were named to the MAAC All-Academic Team. Pierce has built a reputation as a dynamic player developer while creating effective defensive schemes throughout her coaching career with stops as an assistant at programs in the Atlantic 10, Patriot League, Northeast Conference, MAAC and America East as well as head coaching experience at the Division II level. Pierce has coached 25 all-conference players, three defensive players of the year, 29 all-academic honorees, two WNBA players and assisted four programs to five NCAA Tournament berths. Pierce arrives to Niagara University from Saint Joseph s University where she served as an assistant coach for three seasons. Pierce was a part of a winning program at Saint Joe s where the Hawks made two NCAA Tournament Appearances (2013, 2014), won two Philadelphia Big 5 titles (2014, 2015) and won the 2013 Atlantic 10 Tournament. At Saint Joe s Pierce was involved in on-the-floor coaching at individual workouts, practices and games, was responsible for point guard development, and assisted in all aspects of recruiting. Pierce coached the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Year Chatilla van Grinsven, who signed with the WNBA s Connecticut Sun in 2013, and played a strong role in the success of guards Natasha Cloud (drafted by the Washington Mystics in the 2015 WNBA Draft) and Erin Shields (two-time A-10 All-Conference honoree and two-time I-AAA scholar-athlete). Prior to Saint Joe s, Pierce served as an assistant at the United States Military Academy at West Point ( ), Mount St. Mary s ( ), University of Massachusetts ( ), Marist ( ), Massachusetts-Lowell. ( ), and the University of Delaware ( ). Pierce gained head coaching experience at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, an NCAA Division II program, from During her tenure with the Wolves, Pierce had six players garner scholar-athlete honors, with one player earning all-conference accolades, while coaching the conference leader in rebounds and blocks. Pierce played collegiately at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Playing for the Golden Rams from , she helped West Chester to the program s first NCAA Division II Tournament berth as a senior co-captain during season. A two-sport standout at Central High School, Pierce was a four-year letterwinner on the court, earning Philadelphia Public League All-Star honors as a sophomore and junior (1990, 1991) and First Team Philadelphia All-Public League honors in Averaging 21 points per game as a senior, she set Central s all-time scoring record, while her only season on the track and field squad saw her earn All-Public League honors in the high jump. Pierce became the first female be inducted into the Central High School Athletic Honor Roll in 2001.
