2 RE: College Football Prospect Dear Coach, W. BROCK HILL 3450 GOOSE LANE GRANVILLE OHIO, I am interested in your program and would like to become part of a winning tradition. Although, I still have my senior year ahead of me, I am looking forward to competing at the next level. As a starting varsity player the last two years, football has been a major part of my life and I have worked hard to become bigger, better and stronger. I compete at the WR, DB and Punter positions; I will do whatever it takes to help my team succeed. Working hard on and off the field is nothing new to me; I understand the importance of the academic side as well evidenced by my 3.1 GPA. I am also active in track and basketball and will be graduating in Enclosed you will find: my player profile, link to video highlights, statistics, references and contact information. Thank you for your time and consideration. Regards, Brock Hill, Student Athlete lbbdhill@adelphia.net

7 P2 MAJOR FACTORS: 1. COMPETITIVNESS: HAS FLASHES OF EXTREME AGGRESSIVNESS- HIS INTESSITY SEEMED TO PICK UP DURING THE SEASON AS HE GAINED MORE CONFIDENCE AND SUCCESS- A BIT NASTY AT TIMES- IS VERY FOCUSED AND PLAYS FULL GO ON MOST PLAYS- PLAYS BIG IN BIG GAMES 2. EXPLOSIVE STRENGTH: SHOWS GOOD FUNCTIONAL EXPLOSION IN GAME SITUATIONS- WILL DISPLAY IT BETTER IN GAME SITUATIONS THAN IN TESTING RESULTS- CURRENTLY ON A PROGRAM TO INCREASE IN THIS AREA- SEE HIM OUT LEAPING DEFENDERS FOR THE BALL ON A CONSISTENT BASIS-NOW IS ABLE TO 2 HAND DUNK A BASKETBALL- GOOD RAC ABILITY AND WILL BREAK MANY TACKLE ATTEMPTS 3. FOOTBALL INTELLEGENCE: LEARNS QUICKLY- NO EXCESSIVE REPS NEEDED- ACTIVE TO WORK HIS WAY INTO THE OPEN SPACES- HAS BEGUN TO MASTER HIS ROUTES AND UNDERSTANDS THE VARIOUS CONCEPTS 4. QAB [QUICKNESS, AGILITY AND BALANCE IN COMBINATION]: SMOOTH-HAS A GLIDING MOVEMENT-QUICKER THAN FAST-ELUSIVE IN SPACE WITH THE ABILITY TO MAKE THE TACKLER MISS PRODUCING RAC YARDS-NEEDS TO BE MORE EFFICIENT IN PLAYING AT ANGLES BUT IS NOT CHALLANGED BY HIS COMPETITION 5. PLAYING SPEED: PLAYS FASTER THAN HIS CLOCK SPEED-CARRIES HIS PADS WELL-HAS A KNACK OF GETTING BEHIND THE ISOLATION COVERAGE ON THE STREAK-WILL GET FASTER AS HIS STRENGTH IN HIS LEGS INCREASES 6. TOUGHNESS: AGAIN, HE FLASHES A STRONG AGGRESSIVE STYLE AND HAS BECOME MORE CONSISTENT-SOME THINGS JUST SET HIM OFF AND HE RESPONDS ACCORDINGLY-DOES NOT HESITATE TO GO INTO TRAFFIC- CONSTANTLY CHALLENGES FOR THE BALL-A WILLING AND FUNCTIONAL BLOCKER AND ABLE TO GET AND MAINTAIN POSITION ON THE DEFENDER- SEEMS TO EXCELL VS. TOUGH AND DIRTY PLAYERS 7. PRODUCTION: THEIR GO TO RECEIVER-TURNS MANY MEDIUM DEPTH RECEPTIONS INTO LONG GAINS-THE OPPONENTS NORMALLY PUT THEIR BEST DB ON HIM 8. LEADERSHIP: A VERY QUIET KID BUT NOT INTROVERTED-HIS LEADERSHIP ABILITY IS MAILY DEMONSTRATED BY HIS PERFORMANCE 9. CHARACTER: A POLITE, COACHABLE PLAYER-HAS STRONG FAMILY SUPPORT-NO ALERTS

8 P3 POSITION SPECIFICS: 1. INITIAL QUICKNESS: OFF THE LINE ON TIME W/ GOOD FIRST STEP POWER OUT OF HIS STANCE-SEE VERY LITTLE FALSE STEPPING 2: LINE RELEASE: LIMITED IN VARIATIONS DUE TO THE FACT THAT EVERYONE PLAYS HIM 6-10 YARDS OFF IN ZONE-HE DOES NOT OFTEN SEE M/M PRESS. DURING THE OFF-SEASON HAS DEVELOPED HIS RELEASES VS. BOTH PRESS AND OFF COVER SITUATIONS. HAS GOOD FOOT QUICKS AND BODY CONTROL 3: ROUTE AGILITY: AGAIN, HE IS NOT FORCED BY COVERAGES TO RUN PRECISE ROUTES BUT HAS THE AA AND FUNCTIONAL SPEED TO BE A GOOD MULTIPLE CUT ROUTE RUNNER-SHOWS GOOD BODY CONTROL AND CHANGE OF DIRECTION-GOOD STOP AND STICK- QUICK OUT OF CUTS- HAS SHOWN DEDICATION AND SMART WORK TO DEVELOP AND MASTER HIS CRAFT AND HAS ALL THE TOOLS TO EXCELL IN THIS AREA 4: RECEIVING TECH.: SHOWS CONSTANT BALL CONCENTRATION-GETS VERTICAL TO SNATCH BALL-ADJUSTS WELL TO UNDERTHROWN BALLS-GOOD CORE FLEX TO REACH BACK FOR UNDER THROWN BALLS-CAN SEPARATE- CONSISTENT IN REACTING TO AND CATCHING OVER THE SHOULDER PASSES 5. HANDS: HANDS ARE RELATIVELY SMALL BUT YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW IT BECAUSE THEY ARE VERY SOFT-HE IS A HAND CATCHER WITH GOOD BALL CONCENTRATION-HAVE NEVER SEEN HIM DOUBLE CATCH A BALL OR USE HIS BODY TO MAKE THE CATCH-HAVE SEEN HIM CATCH, IN DRILLS, WITH ONE HAND AND THAT IS WITH BOTH THE RIGHT AND LEFT HAND 6. FIELD AWARNESS: SHOWS GOOD AWARNESS OF THE YARDS TO GAIN MARKER AND THE SIDELINE-WILL RUN DIAGONALLY IN FRONT OF THE END LINE WITH GOOD BODY POSITION 7. RAC: HE IS DANGEROUS WITH THE BALL-WON T OVER POWER A TACKLER BUT CAN MAKE HIM MISS-HAS CAUGHT A NUMBER OF PASSES GOOD FOR OVER 50 YDS-GOOD OPEN FIELD AA 8. CROWD: THEY DON T RUN HIM, OR ANY OF THEIR RECEIVERS, SHORT ACROSS THE MIDDLE-DO NOT SEE ANY FEAR WHEN IN THESE SITUATIONS-WILL NEED SOME PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT FOR THE SAKE OF INJURY PREVENTION 9. DOWNFIELD BLOCKING: ACTIVE- HAS THE QUICKS AND AGILITY TO ACHIEVE AND MAINTAIN POSITION ON STALK BLOCKS-NOT OVER POWERING BUT WILLING AND AT TIMES NASTY- CAPABLE OF MULTIPLE CONTACTS DOWNFIELD- GETS GOOD ANGLES ON THE TARGET

9 P4 SUMMARY NOTES: REPORT BASED GAME TAPE EVALUATIONS; 2012 SCRIMAGES; INTERVIEWS; COMBINE TESTING, AND WORKOUT OBSERVATIONS. BROCK HILL S BEST FOOTBALL IS IN FRONT OF HIM. NEITHER HE NOR I KNOW HOW GOOD HE CAN BE. HE IS RAW IN SOME RESPECTS BUT HAS APPLIED HIMSELF EXTREMELY WELL IN THE OFF SEASON. MOST TEAMS WILL PUT THEIR BEST DB ON HIM IN ISO SITUATIONS AND BROCK WILL END UP WINNING THESE BATTLES. HE IS AN EXTREMELY FLEXIBLE PLAYER AND AN ATHLETE WITH UNTAPPED POTENTIAL. AS HE GROWS INTO THE WR POSITION HE WILL ONLY GET BETTER. THIS IS A PLAYER THAT PLAYS FASTER THAN HIS TIME AND WILL GET BEHIND THE DEFENDER BECAUSE OF HIS DECEPTIVE SPEED AND SMOOTH RUN STYLE. HIS FAVORITE ROUTE AND MOST PROLIFIC IS THE FADE OR GO ROUTE WHICH HE HAS TURNED INTO BIG GAINS NUMEROUS TIMES DURING THE 2011 AND 2012 SEASONS. AT PRESENT A LEAN 175 LBS, HE HAS EMBARKED ON A SPECIFICLY DESIGNED PROGRAM TO ADDRESS THE WEIGHT ISSUE AND I EXPECT HIM TO BE IN THE LB RANGE BEFORE ALL IS SAID AND DONE. IN FACT, I EXPECT ALL OF HIS NUMBERS TO SHOW IMPROVEMENT. BROCK CATCHES THE BALL CLEAN AND MAKES GOOD ADJUSTMENTS. HE IS A DANGEROUS PLAYER IN SPACE AND IS SOLID TO AVOID THE 1 ST TACKLER. NOW IN HIS JUNIOR YEAR, BROCK HAS BEEN A STARTER IN FOOTBALL, BASKETBALL AND TRACK. KENNE PITTS, A FORMER STRENNGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH WITH THE BUFFALO BILLS, IS CURRENTLY WORKING WITH BROCK AND IS NOT ONE TO PASS OUT COMPLIMENTS THAT ARE UNDESERVED. 11 LETTERS OF REFERENCE I met Brock Hill during an assessment in August of Through various tests I began to see that Brock was gifted in many areas. I had no idea just how gifted Brock Hill truly is as an athlete. Initially, I was informed that Brock had encountered some injuries that had somewhat hindered his sports participation. Brock s assessment results uncovered a number of things such as his exceptional flexibility; his ability to produce power and his lack of strength in a certain type of muscle contraction. These results were my guide in designing a strength and conditioning program tailored specifically for Brock. I think that it is important to mention that some of the problems with the injury that Brock had encountered were caused by trigger points and muscular imbalances. Through Brock s hard work and proper program design he has made great progress not only in the weight room, but also on the football field and the basketball court. This work ethic and program would then, and continues to, strengthen the areas of weakness that had hindered Brock s athletic ability and sport performance in the past. Always respectful, Brock has challenged my own thinking at times and is not one to settle for the easy workout. For example, during numerous training sessions Brock has respectfully requested, chosen and accepted greater challenges on all exercises. It became very evident during our first few training sessions that Brock has incredible athletic potential. At this point, Brock has not only been virtually injury free, but is also excelling at his respective sports. Hearing stories that he is jumping over defenders to make a catch or leaping above the rim to block a shot truly makes me proud and happy to hear that his hard work is paying off. Brock is also a pleasant person and an excellent student as well. Brock Hill is an exceptional athlete and it is always a pleasure to work with him. As a former NFL Strength and Conditioning coach with more than 16 years in the profession, I can honestly say that Brock Hill is undoubtedly one of the best athletes I have ever trained. 12 Championship Seasons OHSAAStatePlayoffs February 27 th, 2013 Blue Aces Football This letter of recommendation is being written for Brock Hill(Class of 2014), a junior football player at Granville High School. I have known Brock in different capacities-student, community member, and athlete-for the last 4 years. As far as football is concerned, Brock was a starter and key player on the first Granville football team to win an outright Mid State League Ohio Division Championship in Brock took advantage of an opportunity that presented itself during the season (an injury to a senior receiver) and ended his sophomore season as one of our top deep threats, as well as a consistent possession receiver in our offense. In 2012, Brock emerged as a consistent threat to score every time our offense was on the field, as his impressive statistics(33 catches for over 600 yards and 10 touchdowns) will bear out. Our team won a second straight MSL Ohio Division Championship and made our school s 5 th appearance in the OHSAA playoffs, and Brock was a very important part of an offense that performed at a high level throughout the season. His touchdown reception with under a minute to play in our 2012 playoff game not only gave us the lead, but also clearly illustrated how much confidence Brock s teammates and coaches have in him. Off the field, Brock s offseason work ethic was off the charts last spring and summer, when he frequently got the attention of his football coaches and certainly our strength coach, who really enjoys the intense approach that Brock brings to every workout. Additionally, Brock has volunteered on numerous occasions to work at our youth football camps and clinics, and has displayed a very mature understanding of how much his actions and words impact the young people in our community. By watching this young man every day in competitive situations, I have been able to see Brock deal with both success and failure graciously, but also the impression he has made on the younger players within our football program. His work ethic, attention to detail, and selflessness will continue to have a positive impact on those younger athletes in our athletic programs long after he has left the Granville High School. Brock has a bright future in the sport of football, and speaking for our entire staff, I can say that we feel very fortunate to have him in the football program at Granville High School Undefeated Seasons Sincerely, John R.
