Gonzaga (8) BYU (1) Pepperdine Loyola Marymount Saint Mary's Portland SAN DIEGO Santa Clara San Francisco 8 TORERO TO WATCH 8 DOMINIQUE CONNERS Senior guard Dominique Conners recorded a game-high 20 points in on 6-of-15 shooting from the field in Thursday's win over BYU. This marked the seventh time this season that Conners has scored 20 or more points, and it is also the sixth consecutive game that Conners has scored in double figures. On the season, Conners paces the USD offense with a 16.1 ppg average. TIP-OFF: The University of San Diego women's basketball team (12-3, 3-0 WCC) will continue their four-game home stand this Saturday s they welcome the newest member of the WCC into the Jenny Craig pavilion, Brigham Young University. The tip is set for 2 p.m. LAST TIME OUT: Behind a 17-point performance from Amy Kame, and 20-point effort from Dominique Conners, the University ofd San Diego women's basketball team cruised to a victory over Loyola Marymount University Thursday evening in a West Coast Conference game at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. Conners led all scorers with her 20 points on 6-for-15 shooting from the field, while pulling down four rebounds and recoding three steals. Kame scored her 17 points on 6-for-11 shooting from the field, while recording two steals, four rebounds and two assists. Morgan Woodrow was the final USD player in double figures, as she recored 13 on 4-of-10 shooting, while Izzy Chilcott poured in nine points, and pulled down five rebounds. Kameron Knutson had a monster day on the boards, as she came off the bench to lead the team with 11 rebounds, and she recorded six points and had three blocks. As a team, USD shot.456 from the field, but were out rebounded for only the third time this season at THE FRIENDLY CONFINES: The Jenny Craig Pavilion has become a difficult place for opponents to play, as the Toreros are bolstering an impressive 7-1 record at home. While playing at home, USD has outscored their opponents , are shooting.458 from the filed, while holding opponents to.331 shooting, and USD is out rebounding the opponents Morgan Woodrow (19.6 ppg), Dominique Conners (15.0 ppg), and Amy Kame (11.8 ppg) are all averaging double figures in home games. Izzy Chilcott is averaging an impressive 9.5 ppg and 7.6 rebounds-per-game while playing at the JCP.

The Cougars are , BYU all-time against the Toreros with the only meeting between the two programs coming last season in Hawaii, a win for the Cougars. BYU is led offensively by Kim Parker, who is scoring 11.1 ppg, while shooting.453 from the field. Kristen Riley (10.3 ppg) and Lexi Eaton (10.1 ppg) are the only other BYU players averaging double figures. The Cougars are under the direction of Jeff Judkins, who just became the all-time winningest coach in BYU women s basketball history, picking up his 220th career win this past Thursday. THE COUGARS: A pair of University of San Diego women's basketball players recorded double-digits, but it wasn't enough as future WCC member BYU claimed a win at the Hakilau Invitational Dec. 4, 2010 in a non-conference game. Junior guard Morgan Woodrow led the Toreros (5-3) offense as she scored 12 points on 5-for-10 shooting, while also dishing out five assists. The only other Torero in double figures was senior guard Sara VanderHorst, who had 10 on 3-for-7 shooting from the field and Emily Hatch recorded a team-leading 11 rebounds. As a team, USD shot.326 from the field and were out rebounded CONNERS NAMED WCC PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Senior point guard Dominique Conners of the University of San Diego women's basketball team has been named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday Morning. This is Conner's first player of the Week honor this season. Conners, a 5-10 guard from Oceanside, Calif., scored a team-best 20 points and grabbed five rebounds in a win at Saint Mary's College this past Saturday, San Diego's only game of the week. Conners also dished out four assists and had two steals. This marked the fifth game this season that Conners has scored 20 or more points and it was also the fourth consecutive game that Conners has scored in double figures. For the season, Conners leads the Toreros with 16.1 points-per-game average.

3 San Diego Weekly Release Torero Notes RECORD WATCH: Senior guard Dominique Conners scored 20 points against Loyola Marymount this past Thursday, which moved her career total to 1,480, good for third all-time and just 30 points behind Susie Erpelding for second all-time. Conners is aiming to reach the all-time leader in career points at USD, Amber Sprague, and is now only 248 points shy of that mark. USD All-Time Scoring Leaders 1. USD'S BIG 3: San Diego has it's own version of the "Big 3" in the form of senior guards Dominique Conners, Morgan Woodrow and sophomore guard Amy Kame. These three ladies are not only leading the Toreros in scoring, but they are all taking turns doing it. Conners leads the team with a 16.1 ppg average while Woodrow isn't far behind at 15.1 ppg and Kame has now raised her average to 12.1 ppg. Woodrow has paced the Toreros in scoring in seven games this season, while Conners has done it four times. Kame has been an added surprise this season, and she is second in scoring for USD in WCC games at 14.1 ppg. On any given night, these three have the ability to go off. NO GAMETRACKER OR VIDEO STREAM SATURDAY: The women's basketball game between the University of San Diego and Brigham Young University scheduled for this Saturday at 2 p.m. will not have any Gametracker or live video stream due Information Technology Services initiating a major network upgrade. SLAPPING ON THE D: San Diego's defense has been huge this season, as they currently lead the West Coast Conference with scoring defense, as they only allow 54.9 ppg. Conners was an All-WCC first-team honoree last season, after averaging a team-best 14.1 ppg, and she led the team with 64 steals. Conners scored in double figures in 23 games last season, with a season-high of 26 coming in the win against San Francisco on Jan. 15. TOREROS ON TV: The West Coast Conference and CBS Sports Network have announced that one San Diego women's basketball game will air nationally this season. The University of Portland at the University of San Diego will be televised on January 19, 2012 with tip-off scheduled for 6:00 p.m. USD will also be on TV on February 4 when they travel to Spokane, Wash. to take on Gonzaga on SWX, and the final televised regular-season game will be on BYUTV, when USD travels to Provo, Utah on Feb. 18. This service a free of charge for all who wish to watch the broadcast. MEET THE COACH: Head coach Cindy Fisher is entering her seventh season at the helm of the Toreros program. She was named the program's third head coach on April 19, In 2008, Fisher led USD to the WCC Tournament championship and back into the NCAA Tournament for the first time in eight seasons. In only her second season at the helm of the program, Fisher orchestrated the biggest turn around in school history, a 12-game improvement from 9-19 in the season to a 21-9 record in season. The turn around was the fourth best in the nation. Under her tutelage, the Toreros placed three players on the All-WCC lists highlighted by Amanda Rego being named the WCC Co-Player of the Year. For her efforts, Fisher was named the 2007 WCC Co-Coach of the Year. TOREROS TABBED SEVENTH IN WCC PRESEASON POLL: The USD women's basketball team was picked to finish seventh by the WCC head coaches in the WCC preseason coaches poll. Gonzaga was the consensus favorite to claim the West Coast Conference women's basketball title for the third straight year, while WCC newcomer Brigham Young University was picked to finish second. Pepperdine was tabbed to finish in third, Loyola Marymount was picked fourth and Saint Mary's was fifth with a total of 34 total points. In sixth place was the Portland Pilots closely behind the Gaels with 32 total points, and USD was picked to finish seventh and Santa Clara was picked eighth respectfully.

8 San Diego Weekly Release Game Recaps GAME 1 SAN DIEGO 80, Cal State San Marcos 56 Nov. 11, 2011 at the Jenny Craig Pavilion SAN DIEGO, Calif.- The University of San Diego women's basketball team kicked off the regular season with a commanding victory at home against Cal State San Marcos on Friday night. Senior Morgan Woodrow led all players with 18 points, while Amy Kame added 16 points off the bench for USD. USD was able to spread the offensive wealth around as 10 players scored for the Toreros on the night, including three in double figures. The Toreros (1-0) outshot Cal State San Marcos (0-3) 46.6 percent to 26.6 percent in the contest as well, helping USD overcome a 36% night from the free throw line. The Toreros got out to an early lead and never looked back, holding the lead the entire game with the exception of a 4-4 tie after two minutes of play. USD gradually stretched their lead over the course of the first half before closing out the half on a 16-4 run that put them up Coming out in the second half, it was more of the same for the Toreros as they stretched their lead to a game-high 28 points with a lead at the 4:17 mark before eventually wrapping up the win. Woodrow was nearly perfect from the field on the night, going 7-for-8 and 2-for-2 from beyond the arc. Senior Dominique Conners chipped in with 12 points and a pair of assists to go along with some stellar defense. Near the end of the second half, Conners stripped Megan Conroy in the backcourt on consecutive possessions and converted the layups. Freshman Sophia Ederaine proved to be a defensive force down low as she registered five blocks on the night to go along with seven points and seven rebounds coming off the bench. Kameron Knutson grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds and added four points. Justine Chacon scored 12 points to lead the Cougars, while Michel'La Logan contributed 11 points. GAME 2 SAN DIEGO 57, Eastern Washington 68 Nov. 17, 2011 at Reese Court CHENEY, Wash. - Senior guard Dominique Conners scored a season-high 20 points, and Amy Kameadded in 15 points, but it wasn't enough as the University of San Diego women's basketball (1-1) team dropped a non-conference decision to Eastern Washington University (2-1) Thursday evening at Reese Court. Conners scored her team-best 20 points on 8-for-17 shooting from the field, while recording two steals and nine rebounds. Kame was the only other Torero in double figures, as she recorded her 15 points on 5-for-16 shooting form the field, while pulling down six rebounds. As a team, USD shot.362 from the field, and out rebounded the home team Eastern scored the first seven points of the game, but a Kame free throw sparked a 10-6 Toreros run that sw three different San Diego players score at lease one point, and pulled San Diego back to within three at with 13:58 to go. GAME 3 SAN DIEGO 82, Seattle 65 Nov. 19, 2011 at Key Arena SEATTLE, Wash.- Morgan Woodrow's career-high 24 points paced the University of San Diego women's basketball team (2-1) to a win over Seattle University (1-2) Saturday afternoon in a non-conference game at Key Arena. Woodrow scored her game-high 24 points on 6-for-13 shooting from the field, and she was a perfect 10-for-10 from the charity stripe. Dominique Conners was the second of three Toreros in double figures, as she recorded 18 points on 7-for-13 shooting from the floor and Amy Kame scored 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field. As a team, USD shot.458 from the field and out rebounded the Redhawks In the first half, it was a close battle in the early going, as the two teams appeared to be trading basket-for-basket. Then with the score knotted at 4-4, a Conners lay-up sparked a 10-4 Torero run to give USD the momentum and a 14-8 lead with 14:44 to go. The Redhawks then got back to within three at with 14:09 to go, but the two teams went scoreless over the next two minutes until a Woodrow lay-up snapped that streak and gave USD a lead. 9 San Diego Weekly Release Game Recaps GAME 4 SAN DIEGO 103, Louisiana 44 Nov. 25, 2011 at the Jenny Craig Pavilion SAN DIEGO, Calif.- The University of San Diego women's basketball team (3-1) upended the University of Louisiana- Lafayette (1-4), Friday evening in a non-conference game at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. This marked only the third time in program history that USD has eclipsed the 100-point mark, and it is the second most points in program history. The 59-point victory marks the largest margin of victory in program history. USD has twice hit the century mark, both came against WCC opponent Portland, and both came in San Diego. The last time this happened was in the season, when USD hit 104 points in a win over the Pilots in the Jenny Craig Pavilion, and the previous time before that was in 1991 in the Sports Center, a win. The Toreros were paced by senior guard Izzy Chilcott, who recorded a career-high 20 points on 9-for-14 shooting form the field, while pulling down five rebounds and recording four steals. Freshman guard Katie Kuklok also had a monster of a game, as she recorded a career-high 18 points on 7-for-8 shooting form the field including hitting 4-of-5 from beyond the arc. Guards Morgan Woodrow (14 points), Nicole Ballestero (12 points) and Dominique Conners(11 points) were the three other Toreros to score in double figures, while Woodrow recorded a double-double with 11 rebounds. GAME 5 SAN DIEGO 75, Colgate 73 (OT) Nov. 28, 2011 at the Jenny Craig Pavilion SAN DIEGO, Calif.- Behind a 20-point effort from senior guard Dominique Conners and a career-high 17-point performance from sophomore guard Amy Kame, the University of San Diego women's basketball team was able to outlast Colgate University, 75-73, in overtime Monday evening at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. With time running out in the extra period and the Toreros (4-1)) trailing by one, USD looked to its senior point guard for some help, and she delivered. Conners drove in the lane and pulled up for a jumper, only to get fouled by Kelly Korkowski to put Conners at the line. The Oceanside, Calif. native was calm, cool and collected as she hit a pair of free throws to give the Toreros a one-point lead at with :35 seconds left. USD's defense then forced a turnover, Morgan Woodrowwas then fouled with two seconds left, and she hit one of two free throws to put the game at its final of Conners scored her team-best 20 points on 5-for-15 shooting from the field, while just missing a double-double with nine rebounds. Kame was almost unstoppable as she scored her 17 points on 8-for-17 shooting, while racking up seven rebounds and dishing out four assists. Woodrow was the final USD player in double figures as she recorded 13 points on 5-for-12 shooting. With the win, the Toreros improve to 5-1 overall and run their winning streak to four. With the loss, the Lions fall to 1-6 overall. Kuklock scored her 17 points on 6-for-14 shooting from the floor, including hitting on four shots from beyond the arc. Dominique Conners was the second USD player in double figures, as she had 12 on 5-of-9 shooting from the field. Freshman forward Sophia Ederaine recorded a career-high seven blocks in the win as well. As a team, USD shot.350 from the field and out rebounded the Lions In the first half, Columbia jumped out to an early 6-2 lead over the first five minutes of action. 10 San Diego Weekly Release Game Recaps GAME 7 SAN DIEGO 42, Fordham 44 Dec. 3, 2011 at the Rose Hill Gymnasium BRONX, N.Y. - Dominique Conners'last second shot rimed out, as the University of San Diego women's basketball team (5-2) saw its four-game winning streak come to an end with a loss to Fordham University (5-2) Saturday afternoon in a nonconference game. With the score knotted at 42-all, Fordham had the ball with 11.7 seconds remaining. The Rams then killed some time off the clock, drove down the right side of the key, and put up a shot that missed by a mile, but USD was called for a foul, which sent the Rams to the free throw line. Becky Peters then hit a pair of free throws to take a lead with just 3.7 seconds remaining. After USD inbounded the ball to Conners, she drove to midcourt and was fouled, but the Rams had one foul to give. Then with under two seconds left, Conners again got the ball on the inbounds and launched a 3-poinnter from in front of the Torero bench, only to see it not go into the basket, allowing Fordham to escape with a win. Conners recorded her first double-double of the season, as she scored a game-high 18 points and she pulled down 10 rebounds. Felicia Wijenbergwas the only other Torero in double figures, as she recorded 12 points on 6-for-10 shooting from the floor, and she pulled down seven rebounds. GAME 8 SAN DIEGO 56, San Diego State 45 Dec. 8, 2011 at the Viejas Arena SAN DIEGO, Calif. - A big second half sparked off a strong defensive effort, and Dominique Conners' season-high 22 points, the University of San Diego women's basketball team (6-2) picked up a win over cross-town rival San Diego State University (4-4) Thursday evening in a non-conference game at Viejas Arena. Conners led all players with her season-high 22 points on 7-for-14 shooting, while pulling down five rebounds and recording four steals. Both Morgan Woodrow and Amy Kame had 10 points apiece to round off the USD scoring attack. Izzy Chilcott also had a huge game for the Toreros, as she recorded 10 rebounds and helped hold the normally potent SDSU offense in check all game long. As a team, USD shot.333 from the field, and was out rebounded for only the second time this season, "This was a big game for us, the city championship, and I am just so proud of this team," stated head coach Cindy Fisher. "I am really happy for our seniors, especially Dominique Conners, who is a local kid, and for her to go out like this is just awesome." Woodrow recorded her career-high 31 points on 12-for-20 shooting from the field, including hitting on 5-of-5 from the charity strip, while pulling down five rebounds. Sophomore guard Amy Kame recorded her first career double-double as she had 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Kame recorded her 16 points on 5-of-15 shooting from the field. Felicia Wijenberg was the only other USD player to score in double figures for USD, as she tied her career-high with 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the floor. Izzy Chilcott had another solid game as well, pulling down a career-high 14 rebounds, while scoring five points. With the win, the Torero improve to 8-2 overall, have won their third consecutive game, and have matched the second best start in program history with the team. With the loss the Mustangs fall to 3-7 overall and have lost four in a row. Woodrow scored her game-high 22 points on 8-for-19 shooting, while managing to pull down seven rebounds, while Conners scored her 20 points on 8-for-12 shooting. And with her 20 points, Conners has now moved into third all-time on the USD career-scoring charts, passing former Torero great Sam Child. The final Torero in double figures was senior guard Izzy Chilcott, who scored 10 points on 5-for-8 shooting from the field. Freshman forward, Sophia Ederaine recorded four blocks, and as a team, USD recorded 10. The Toreros shot.448 from the field, and were even in rebounds at 42 apiece. After the Lady Raiders (12-0) scored the go-ahead basket with 7.6 seconds remaining on the clock, USD head coach Cindy Fisher called a timeout. The Toreros managed to maintain that margin and pushed that lead up to nine at on a Amy Kame lay-up with 4:53 to go. After a Texas Tech basket cut the lead to seven, a backto-back Woodrow baskets gave USD its biggest lead of the game at 30-19, marking the largest deficit Texas Tech has had this season. The Lady Raiders then closed the final 2:29 on a 9-0 run, which gave USD a lead at the break. In the second half, the Lady Raiders managed to tie things up at 32-all on a pair of Kelsi Baker free-throws with 16:11 to go, but the Toreros refused to go away as a Woodrow jumper then sparked a 5-0 run to give USD some breathing room and a lead with 13:38 to go. Texas Tech would pull to within one again at on a Chynna Brown jumper with 12:09 to go, but the Toreros then answered that with a Kame basket to regain a three-point edge.
