Justin Dorward is one of the players who burst on the scene for the Cardinals as a true freshman last season. He appeared in 10 events and proved that he will be someone that Crabtree can rely on consistently. Chris Biuso is another player who saw limited action as a true freshman, and appears to be ready to take a step forward. Riley Wheeldon came to Louisville last year and continued the trend of outstanding freshmen players to compete for the Cardinals. Named the BIG EAST Newcomer of the Year, Wheeldon recorded the second-best stroke average on the squad at and tallied two top ve nishes and three in the top 10. Wheeldon placed seventh at the BIG EAST Championships last season, which was the third-best on the squad. His best nish came at the Palisades Collegiate Classic when he placed third overall, including a secondround score of 61, which tied a school record for the lowest round. he was recognized as the BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, player with the ability to shoot low numbers as demonstrated by his 61 last year in Charlotte. 5 Head Coach Mark Crabtree If a consistently high level of achievement over a long period of time is the measure of a successful program, then Louisville meet those high standards. Beginning his 11th season as the head coach of the University of Louisville men Crabtree has guided the Cardinals to two BIG EAST titles, ve regional appearances and two trips to the NCAA Championships. When University of Louisville Athletics Director Tom Jurich hired Crabtree he knew he had someone who would eventually take the Cardinals men actly what Crabtree has done. Crabtree has the Cardinals on the national scene and the Hall of Fame coach isn with what his program has accomplished to date. title last season and advanced to the NCAA Regionals for the fth straight year. Crabtree has orchestrated a remarkable string of successful seasons for the Cardinals. Crabtree has guided his program to four straight regional appearances, two straight visits to the NCAA Championships and a BIG EAST title.
