3 Welcome to the 2011 Peewee Tier 3 BC Championships On behalf of the Campbell River Minor Hockey Association and the Mainstream Biological, we congratulate you on representing your region at the 2011 Peewee Tier 3 BC Championships. We are honored and excited to be hosting this tournament and we welcome you to Campbell River and hope you enjoy your stay in our beautiful city! It is our intent to make this tournament a positive and memorable experience for all participants. Please review the host information in this package and confirm the necessary documentation as soon as your team is confirmed as a zone representative. Tournament Location The 2011 Tier 3 BC Championships will be held at the Rod Brindamour Arena located at 225 Dogwood Street, Campbell River approximately 1.5 hours north of Nanaimo. Team packages can be picked up at the Rod Brindamour Arena on Saturday, March 19 th, 2011 at 7pm in the Mezzanine Room. You won t want to miss this fun and relaxing evening with great food and activities for all and we hope that all teams, coaches, parents and siblings will consider joining us. Distance to Major Centres: Comox Valley, Vancouver Island, BC Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, BC Vancouver, Mainland, BC Victoria, Vancouver Island, BC 52 km 153 km 235 km 264 km 7

8 Campbell River is approximately 1.5 hours (153 kilometres / 95 miles) drive north of Nanaimo on Highway 19, and 3 hours (264 kilometres / 165 miles) north of Victoria. Travelling by Land The new Inland Island Highway provides a quick, practically non stop route from Nanaimo to Campbell River with opportunities to explore the ocean front or mountain trails all the way. Travelling by Water The BC Ferries Service crossings between Vancouver Island and BC's Lower Mainland can last from about 95 minutes to two hours, depending on which route you take. There are three to choose from, including a Vancouver to Nanaimo service with frequent sailings every day of the year. 8
