2 N O V E M B E R - D E C E M B E R Calendar of Events November 5th, H Awards Banquet, 4 pm Guelph Please join us for a dinner and awards celebration Sunday November 5th! Please bring canned goods to donate, we will be completing a county wide community service project! Judging Practices Livestock Judging- Practices will be held at 3:30 pm starting Tuesday, November 7th at the courthouse. If you are new to judging this is a great way to gain basic knowledge and practice! Livestock Quiz Bowl- This is a new event this year! If you are interested in livestock and learning more about the event please join us at our first practice at 4:30 pm on Tuesday, November 7th! Hippology- Practice Sunday nights in Fullerton 5-7pm. Contact Breana for more information! November 5th- 4- H Council Meeting, Guelph November 30th- 4-H Volunteer Training - LaMoure County, 6-9 pm July 13th-15th- Dickey County Fair

3 State News Participation fee Implemented The new 4-H year is fast approaching and with it comes change. This year the State 4-H office will be implementing a $20 participation fee for each 4-H member with a $60 cap for family's with more than 3 youth. This includes all 4-H members, shooting sports and club members. The funds will go towards state programming. This fee does not include our normal county fee of $5. The county fee for this year has been waived. The fee goes into effect November 1st. The fee will be paid online on the 4-H online program. 4-H T-Shirts and Hats for Sale! 4 County News 4-H Council Meeting Please plan on attending the November 4-H Council Meeting! The meeting will take place directly following the awards banquet on Sunday, November 5th. We have a lot on our agenda and need your feedback on the upcoming 4-H year! During this meeting we will also elect new executive board members. Come with candidate names in mind. N O V E M B E R - D E C E M B E R Dickey County 4-H Events/Assignments 4-H Carnival Jim River Kids H Archery Dates 4-H Archery is open to youth 8-18 years old. Dickey County currently has two clubs, one located in Oakes and one located in Ellendale. Practices will be held over the winter months to prepare for contest. If you are interested in receiving more information about Archery please contact the office! All equipment and certified instructors provided! 5 County News N O V E M B E R D E C E M B E R r Congratulations Dickey County 4H Livestock Judging Team. They competed at AKSARBEN in Nebraska the beginning of October. Caleb Hauck received 3rd place in Swine and Reed Wendel won 10th place in Beef.

They painted windows in Ellendale and served a delicious meal to community members during National 4-H week. They recently had a fall party with a hayride and goodies!
