1 BECOME AN EVENT SPONSOR! 10/17/17 CWWA CONFERENCE 5K WALK/RUN Run for the Children Join your colleagues in a run for the children of Guyana! A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Ruimveldt Children s Aid Center. The Ruimveldt Children s Aid Centre is an after-school youth space for disadvantaged preschool, elementary and secondary school children in the Ruimveldt community outside the capital city of Georgetown. The Ruimveldt Children s Aid Centre provides a safe space in the community for approximately 40 kids to play, learn and receive a hot meal. The Centre is manned by Miss Patsy and Miss December. They donate food and give of their time and service on a voluntary basis to ensure the Centre is open for the children of the community daily. Resources are very limited at the Centre. Little government funding and low numbers of volunteers make it difficult to coordinate daily meals and activities, thus impeding on the full potential of the program. A portion of the proceeds from the CWWA Conference 5K will be donated to the Center.
