3 Chicago Cubs Race to Wrigley 5K Legendary Wrigley Field and the start of the new baseball season are both celebrated at this unique "home run" of an event at the iconic ballpark. Date: Saturday, April 25, 2009 Location: Clark and Addison (Wrigley Field), Chicago Participants: 7,500 Components: 5K run; top fundraising awards/prizes Benefits the Chicago Cubs Charities Stepping Up to Wellness This 4 th annual 5K/10K run and family walk supports the Cancer Wellness Center and the center programs which focus on nutrition, exercise, spirituality, meditation and support groups. Date: Sunday, April 26, 2009 Location: Independence Grove (Libertyville), IL Participants: 2,500 Components: 5K run, 10K run, 1 mile family walk Benefits the Cancer Wellness Center Palos Bank Southwest Half Marathon Presented by Palos Bank & Trust, this 13.1 mile event, celebrating its 2 nd year in 2009, is on the fast track to become an annual southwest suburban running tradition. Date: Sunday, May 3, 2009 Location: Palos Heights, IL Participants: 2,000 Components: pre event health expo; prizes for top race winners Benefits Prostate Cancer Research, the Southwest Recreation Association, and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America Walk MS Chicago The 22 nd Annual Walk MS Chicago will bring out more than 4,000 participants to join in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. In 2008, more than $3 Million dollars was raised for the cause. Date: Sunday, May 3, 2009 Participants: 4,000 Components: 3 mile walk Benefits the Greater Illinois Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society 3

4 C4 Miles: Making Strides for Mental Health Community Counseling Centers of Chicago (C4) presents this chip timed 4 mile run and 2 mile family walk to raise funds as well as awareness of mental illness, which affects about one in five Americans every year. Date: Sunday, May 3, 2009 Location: Montrose Harbor Demographics: A12 65 Participants: 600 Components: 4 mile chip timed run and 2 mile Family Walk Benefits Community Counseling Centers of Chicago Climate Cycle This inaugural cycling event will bring out kids and adults alike with the mission of raising awareness and funds to prevent global warming and the overall greening of our environment. Date: Saturday, May 9, 2009 Location: Butler Field, Chicago Adjacent to the Petrillo Band Shell Demographics: A5 55 Participants: 500 Components: Green Expo, Kids Activities, 12 mile and 25 mile ride Partnering with the Chicago Public Schools to assist in their efforts to educate kids about respecting and protecting the environment. The Rockford Marathon Held in Illinois' third largest city, this marathon takes place along the scenic Rock River and is truly a celebration of community pride for both participants and spectators. Date: Sunday, May 17, 2009 Location: Downtown Rockford, IL Participants: 2,000 Components: half marathon; full marathon; relay teams; community expo Benefits the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois. 5 Alivio Y Salud Run for Health Raises awareness of health and nutrition issues in the Hispanic community. Date: Saturday, May 30, 2009 Location: Harrison Park (Pilsen neighborhood), Chicago Demographics: A12 65 Participants: 3,000 Components: 5K run/walk for adults and kids Benefits the Alivio Medical Center Run for the Zoo This iconic annual event is popular with both adults and children and benefits Chicago's world acclaimed "no admission" animal menagerie. Date: Sunday, June 7, 2009 Location: Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago, families Participants: 4,250 Components: 5K/10K run and walks; kids dash; post race awards ceremony Benefits the Lincoln Park Zoo Bastille Day 5K Run, Walk & Block Party It's all about France and the French Revolution at this run/walk that celebrates European culture. Another big draw? It uniquely takes place on the paved streets of the hot West Loop neighborhood. 6 Race Judicata Sprint for Justice Lawyers providing free legal services for the poor is the celebrated cause at this downtown/lakefront run & walk that celebrates its 16 th year in Date: Thursday, July 30, 2009 Participants: 5,000 Components: 5K run along lakefront; post race awards ceremony and party Benefits the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services Foundation Lymphoma Walkathon A cure for this immune disorder cancer is in the spotlight and this often dubbed "Lymphomathon" that raises money and public awareness to battle the disease. 7 Chicago Blackhawks' "Mad Dash to Madison" The city's hometown team celebrates its upcoming season with this run/walk held as one of several activities at a day long hockey fan fest at the United Center.
