Education We provide educational programs that promote lung health, including: Youth smoking prevention programs Adult smoking cessation programs Asthma management programs for children and adults COPD initiatives Advocacy We work at federal, state and local levels to enact policy change that protects the lung health of all people.

5 Camp Superkids Summer 2013, we will celebrate the 36 th anniversary of Camp Superkids. Located in South Bend, NE, Camp Superkids is a week- long educational and recreational camp for children ages 7-14 suffering from severe asthma. In most cases, this is the child s first experience managing their asthma without parent supervision. Camp Superkids teaches the children they are not alone and educates them how to manage their disease. Asthma triggers, breathing techniques and exercise programs are discussed throughout their time at camp. Camp Superkids has made a positive difference in thousands of lives over the years.

Lung disease is the third leading cause of death. 3 thousand children under the age of 18 start smoking each day. 1 in 12 children suffers (6.7 million children under 18) from asthma. 122 thousand Americans die each year from COPD. 1 in 2 Americans lives in an area that has unsafe levels of ozone or particle pollution Leading Killer Lung cancer is the number 1 cancer killer of both women and men. Clean air is critical to those suffering from lung diseases, including asthma and COPD.
