3 Junction 311 Endurance Sports is a locally owned company that organizes and produces running events with 15+ races planned for While our organization continues to grow, our runners can always count on the same first-class racing experience at every Junction 311 event. We do everything we can to ensure that your experience before, during, and after the race exceeds your expectations. We know that you work hard to train for race day, and we work hard to ensure that your preparation is rewarded with an exceptional race experience. Every event we produce will let you push your limits and compete against others or yourself. All of our events will always be timed and provide an exciting atmosphere. CARE Making someone else s life or day a little happier, brighter and better is just plain fun. We like it! A portion of the proceeds at each of our events goes to a non-profit organization, such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Friends in Action, which is dedicated to helping others. Freedom Run 10K, 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run The Freedom Run 10K, 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run kick off the Fun Fourth Celebration in Downton Greensboro. Come run in honor and support of military personnel who protect and defend our freedom. Deck yourself out in a patriotic costume and show your American spirit!

4 Race Rules and Regulations Can I wear headphones? It is unsafe to wear headphones while running. Event organizers will not restrict headphone use and leave it up to the athlete on his/her ability to follow direction while wearing headphone devices. If you choose to wear headphones, please keep the volume level down so you are able to hear and follow the direction of course volunteers. Can someone else run in my place? In case of your inability to participate in this event, your bib can be transferred to another runner. You will need to do an official transfer. If you wish to transfer your bib, please contact us for further direction. Can I register on race day?

5 Yes, you may register at packet pick-up. Be sure to leave time to pick up your race bib by the time packet pick-up ends. Packet pick-up on the day of the race will begin at 5:45 PM and close at 7:00 PM. Am I allowed to walk? Yes, however, you must meet the requirements of completing the race by 8:30 PM Are baby joggers, strollers or pets allowed during the race? Yes, baby joggers are allowed on the course. However, strollers and pets are not allowed on the course. Dogs that are trained to run the entire race distance are permitted on the course. You must take responsibility for your dog and clean up any mess left behind. Is there a bag check? Yes, bag check will be provided at the Junction 311 Tent and will close at 9:00 PM. Any items left at bag check will be donated to a local charity. Packet Pick-up Packet pick-up will be on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 12:00 to 5:00 at: Bill Black Chevrolet 601 East Bessemer Avenue Greensboro, NC And on Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 2:00 to 5:00 at: Omega Sports 2431 Battleground Avenue Greensboro, NC We strongly suggest picking up your packet on Saturday or Sunday prior to the event to ensure a smooth race evening. If you register no later than June 29, 2017, you will receive an with your bib number. To ensure you receive a race shirt, you must register no later than

6 June 16, Limited shirt sizes may be available to those with late registrations. We strongly suggest either printing that or pulling it up on your smart phone to expedite your time at packet pick-up. If you are unable to print the , or do not have a smart phone, no problem. We will be able to look up your bib number and t-shirt as long as you have your registration information. Packet Pick-up for Someone Else We will allow you to pick up the race bib and t-shirt for someone other than yourself with a copy of the sent to registered runners. Race Evening: Pre-Race Race Start time The 10K race will start promptly at 7:15 PM. The 5K race will begin at 7:30 PM and the 1 Mile fun run will begin at 7:35 PM Getting to the Start/Finish area All races will begin and end near the 315 S. Greene Street.

7 Parking Please note that Elm Street will close at 4:00 for the event. Greene Street Parking Deck 211 S. Greene Street, Greensboro, NC Eugene/Washington Parking Lot 201 S. Eugene Street, Greensboro, NC Gear Check Gear check will be provided under the Junction 311 Tent at the on-site registration area, and will close at 9:00 PM. Any items left at gear check will be donated to a local charity. Restrooms Portable restrooms will be located near the start/finish area. Please do not use a local business restroom unless you are also there to support the business. Bibs Please wear your race bib on the front of your shirt. If you are not wearing a shirt, pin your bib on the front of your shorts. Please do not bend or fold the timing chip!

8 During the Race Hydration Stations Hydration stations will be provided at N. Church Street and W. Lindsey Street for both the 10K and 5K racers and at the end of the pedestrian bridge over the railroad tracks on Hendrix Street for the 10K runners. If weather conditions warrant, a 3 rd water stop will be added at a to be determined location. Medical Support We will have medical professional on site throughout the race. If you have a medical emergency while running, please notify the nearest volunteer so that we can dispatch proper assistance to you as quickly as possible. Restrooms Portable restrooms will be available near the start/finish line. Please avoid using the restrooms at various restaurants as these are reserved for their customers. Spectator Locations Spectators are strongly encouraged to participate along the course. We love to see all those creative signs of encouragement. Gold s Gym will supply materials to make signs of encouragement. A table for this will be set up near the registration/packet pick-up area. All runners will be going out and back along Elm Street between Smothers Place And Lindsey Street. What better way to cheer your favorite runner on than to line up along Elm Street!

12 After the Race Awards Overall and age group awards for both the 10K and 5K races will be announced around 8:50 PM. Winners must be present to receive their prize; awards will not be mailed out. Age groups are as follows for the 10K race: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49; 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 up. If enough runners register for the 5K race, then the age groups will be as above, otherwise, they will be awarded in 10 year age groups Food After the race, runners will be treated to some great food options and free beer from a local brewery. Food trucks will also be in the area. Help to support our local community. Post-Race Survey You will receive a link within a few days after the race for a post-race survey.
