This is our annual two week (first two full weeks of August) plant shut down and vacation. Everyone has been working hard and all are looking forward to the time off. We have been fortunate to have an abundance of work and fall will be here before we know it so we have a lot of work ahead of us! Page 1 of 8

2 This month Sterling says I want to first say thank you for the big turnout last week for the Maintenance Seminar! We had a packed house and a good exchange of ideas and problem solving conversations. I would like to talk about some possible upgrades for the Model 2000XL: transfer case cooling kit and sprocket liners. The 2000XL does not run a cooler for the transfer case. We have seen cases where the vehicle is running a max speed for extended times or pulling heavy loads, both of which result is building heat. The drive sprockets on the XL consist of a pair of sprockets bolted to a drum, (see below), the drum could be steel or aluminum. Either way it is possible for ice to build up on the drum and keep the track from dropping all the way into the sprocket. Conditions have to be just right for this to happen, but to keep it from happening we have developed a non metal liner to prevent this (see below). The light 2000XL runs a single row of support wheels, the other heavier models us a combination of multiple wheels. In between these multiple wheels are more nonmetal liners that need to checked for cracks and damage. These liners are standard but I thought I would mention them so they would not be confused with the sprocket liners (see below). WHEEL LINERS XL SPROCKET LINER MULTIPLE WHEEL This is a reminder about Terra track tension. The Model 2000XL runs the 175 track and has a single end adjuster, adjust the sag to 5/8. The Model 2000 & 1600 with 2000 tracks and dual end adjusters need to have 3/4 of sag (see above for space we measure for sag). Page 2 of 8

The physical address is 2872 South Pacific Hwy., Medford, OR The seminar will consist of but not limited to the following: Overview of the production process Service and maintenance tips Cummins Northwest presentation Allison Transmission presentation Factory tour Question and answer Shop time The cost is $ per person. This includes coffee and doughnuts in the mornings and lunch both days. Participants are responsible for their travel, lodging and other meals. All participants must wear leather work boots and pants that cover the full length of the leg to participate in the factory tour and shop times. All participants will be given a brief safety procedure lesson before entering the work areas. Safety glasses are required in all work areas and will be supplied by Tucker SNO-CAT. 5 Mic has been with Tucker Sno-Cat Corporation for almost 42 years. He grew up in nearby Phoenix, after high school Mic joined the Navy Seabees and for four years refined his skills in building and fabricating their projects. Soon afterward he married and went to work for Tucker tacking and welding steel track. Since then Mic has welded cabs, sprockets, the big 4-track trailers, and blades. Currently he spends most of his time on the saw and punch press, and he still has all his fingers! Mic and his wife have a grown daughter that lives in Seattle. Outside of work he really enjoys hot rod restoration and has a lot of trophies to prove it. Mic also likes to hunt and fish if there is no car work to be done. Mic is looking forward to taking a road trip to Canada, he really wants to see the Banff area and anywhere along the way that looks interesting...he says since I don t have to be back to work the following Monday I m going to take my time. Another thing he wants to do is work on his house (not house work, lol), he says he will catch up on those little house projects that are easily put off. Page 5 of 8
