2 Activity Photography Wed 19 th July Thur 20 th July Fri 21st July Organiser Mrs Herrington/Mr Smith Photography Safari to Bristol and a day in Lyme Regis followed by a day working on your images on Friday. 3 day 3 day Cost=approx. 25 Deposit = 10 Street Art and SS Great Britain Organisers Ms West & Ms Keating A trip to Bristol looking at the SS Gt Britain followed by a tour of some of the famous street art and graffiti and the chance to visit the Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery 3 days 20 Use this inspiration to create some of your own art on Thursday and Friday. Cost= approx 15 Deposit= 5 Bake off/court Fields Master Chef Ms Poole/Ms Frayling 1 or 2 days Learn to make bread, pizza, salads and cakes. You will cook and eat lunch at school and take home bread and cakes. If you choose to do more than one day, you can make a variety of bread, pizza and cakes Cost = Free (Ingredients provided) Paper craft Ms Poole/Ms Frayling Create crafts out of paper and card 16 Free activity Gardening & Wild-Life Projects 1, 2 or 3 days If you would like to help finish off the Peace Garden, work on wildlife friendly projects, plant up your own flower baskets, have a go at plant identification and maintain the school allotment, then this is the activity for you! Please bring your own gardening gloves (washing up gloves will be fine - to avoid allergies), wellies and waterproof coats - we will garden in the rain (though not all day)! 3 Theatre workshop Organiser Ms Westwood Splendid Workshop - Theatre company will be coming into school to run a full day drama workshop. 20 Cost = per student Deposit = 10 Theatre Trip Organiser Ms Westwood/Ms Chidgey Theatre trip to Southampton - to watch Addams Family the musical. Cost 27 per student. Deposit = 10 Tacchi Morris Arts Centre Trip to Tacchi Morris Theatre Theatre tour and workshop with space students. Cost 7 50 per student. Deposit = 4 DT project Making bird feeders out of recycled materials Organiser Mrs Osborne 1, 2 or 3 days Free activity (materials provided) Coasteering Mr Dickson/ Mr Jenkins and staff from The Ultimate High Adventure Centre A very adventurous and popular activity. Explore the coastline around Baggy Point near Croyde by climbing, swimming and jumping into the water. You will be wearing a full wet suit, helmet and a buoyancy aid. You will need to be a confident swimmer, happy in the sea and have a sense of adventure! 20 Wednesday only Please note - In order to make the most of the afternoon high tide we will not return to school until 5pm. Cost= 30 Deposit= 15 No price increase for 2017 Rock climbing on Dartmoor Mr Dickson/Mr Jenkins/Mr Greenfield Try climbing, abseiling, top roping and bouldering on the Dartmoor Tors. 4 Surfing Organiser Ms Martin Have a go at surfing on one of the most beautiful beaches in north Devon. Join staff from the Southwest surf school at Croyde or Saunton Sands beach for a day of fun in the waves. Daily Cost= 30 Deposit= 15 No price increase for 2017 Play in day Organiser Ms James Fresh from her success as the narrator in the staff panto, Ms James is offering you the chance to rehearse and stage your own play in a day. 10 Cost =Free Coarse Fishing Organisers Mr Woodward & Mrs Samuels Coarse fishing at a variety of commercial fisheries for carp, roach, bream etc. Students must have their own fishing equipment suitable for this type of fishing and already have an interest in the sport. 5 Mountain Biking Organiser Mr Nichols/Mr Jenkins Thursday - A trip to the Haldon forest cycle centre. Practice your skills before attempting the blue and red trails. Friday Quantocks (Approx 15KM off road) Some school bikes are available for those people who don t have their own proper mountain bike. There will be a bike and helmet check before you are allowed to participate to make sure that your bike is in a safe condition to be used on the trails. Cost = 15 per day Deposit 5 15 A Organiser Mrs Hoban + driver Bring Science to life with hands on integrative experiments and activities. You might make a weather forecast, construct a building and see if it can survive an earthquake. The list of opportunities is endless.. Then you will have an amazing trip to the stars with the new 3D planetarium show and finally be entertained by the science stage show. 15 Price includes transport, admission and the Planetarium show. You need to provide your own packed lunch and wear sensible clothing appropriate for being both indoors and outdoors. 6 Kayaking Learn to Kayak and use stand up paddleboards on the sea at Minehead or Porlock with instructors from Exmoor adventures. Organiser Ms Lees Thursday only 15 Cost = 35 Deposit = 10 Splashdown Quaywest Water Park Organiser Mrs Robertson Splashdown is an outdoor water park located on Goodrington Sands Beach near to Paignton. It is the largest outdoor waterpark in the UK. The site has 8 water slides and a swimming pool. Cost = 20 Deposit = Paignton Zoo Organiser staff TBC With over 2,000 animals across the 80-acre site you are in for a wild time at Paignton Zoo. Cost = 23 Deposit = 10 Multi sports Olympics Take part in a variety of sporting activities such as 5 a side football, ultimate Frisbee, rounders, table tennis etc. on the field and in the sports hall. 7 Ardeche Adventure Seven day multi-activity residential in the south of France. Organiser - Mr Latchford Week long residential in France 3 left Cost = Needs to be paid in full by 05/05/17 Normandy Residential Organiser Ms Mayer 5 day residential in Normandy left This year, Court Fields MFL Department is organising a 5 day trip to a residential activity centre called La Grande Ferme, in Normandy, France. The trip will take place between the 17th and 21st July It will be educational as well as lots of fun for the students as the French instructors will speak French at all times, from serving breakfast and demonstrating the various challenges, through to running the evening programme of activities. The approximate cost of the trip is 400, depending on how many students sign up. 8 Activities week booking form 2017 Name Form 1. Fill in the form by ticking either a 3-day activity or 3 separate one day activities. 2. When bookings open, there will be a ballot box in reception where you can post your envelope containing your booking form and deposit. Please make sure your name is on the form and envelope! Mrs Bickerton will empty the box at 9.am each day so that every tutor group has an equal chance to get their deposits in for that day. PLEASE DON T GIVE THE ENVELOPE TO YOUR TUTOR, PUT IT IN THE BOX IN RECEPTION! 3. As activities start to fill up Mrs Bickerton will ask you to visit the finance office in order to choose another. Any existing deposits will be allocated to your new activity. 4. Once you have chosen your activities and paid a deposit you will be able to collect an EV5 form, permission letter and payment form from the activity leader. Please note - If you are in receipt of free school meals there is a limited amount of financial support available towards the cost of the activities.
