8 Keeping You Safe Life Guard Shack Located at the pool entrance, this is the entry point for the pools where member s pool wrist bands and guest passes are paid for and checked. First aid supplies and game equipment is available here. Swim Pool Rules For your safety and our guests safety please adhere to the following pool rules: Absolutely no one may use the pool unless a lifeguard is on duty. Running or horseplay in the pool areas, pool deck, and sidewalks is prohibited. Floating objects, rafts, face masks, fins, and balls must be used properly. Due to crowded conditions or misuse, the staff may ban their usage. Glass containers are not allowed in the pool areas. No swimming in the diving or sliding board area, and only one person allowed on the slides at a time. Children must be able to properly swim to use the slides and the diving boards and they are not allowed to be caught as this is an unsafe practice. Only one person on the diving board at a time, no double bounces and diving off the sides of the boards is prohibited.. No catching children off of the slide or diving boards Must wait until previous swimmer clears the diving or sliding area before entering pool Must jump/dive forward off of the diving board and off of the sides of the pool (diving in allowed areas only) Diving from the side is only permitted in designated deep sections of the pools. No hanging on diving boards or lane lines No one may use the starting blocks during the regular pool hours. Starting blocks may only be used during organized swim team time with coach present during practice or meets. Refrain from distracting the lifeguards for non-emergency related issues. Please report all accidents to a lifeguard on duty or to the pool office. Swimming lanes will be available for lap swimming, for all ages. Swim in circles only. Appropriate swimwear while using the club facilities is required. The spray pool is for preschool children only. The shallow section of the old pool is for young children, their parents, and non-swimmers only. Non swimmers may not be unattended by parent or guardian All children 10 and under shall be accompanied by a responsible adult. All children 5 and under in or near pool must be within arms length of a responsible adult Attendance permitting, adult swims are held daily for 15 minutes at 1:45 and 3:15 pm. For safety reasons, please no chairs or sunbathing on the pool decks surrounding the pools Alcoholic beverages and smoking are prohibited inside the fenced pool area. NO pets in fenced area of pool. Everyone please place all trash in appropriate containers Pool Hours may be adjusted without notice. Availability of both pools will be determined by attendance, activities, staff, and weather conditions. There will be times when only one pool or a partial pool is open. Pool may be closed due to adverse weather conditions. A Special Discount Ten Use Guest Pass: A ten use guest pass is being sold for only $50 until June 9th. This is a $30 savings! Regular guest passes are $8 per day. After June 9th, the price for a ten-use pass will be $65, still a $15 saving over the regular cost. 9 Competitive Swim Team GVCC sponsors a team that competes in dual, invitational, and championship meets sponsored by the Berks County Swimming Association. Coach Tom Houck is our head coach and he will be assisted by Liz Ebert and Dominic Vottero. Swimmers are divided into 5 age groups; 8 & Under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15 & Over. Register and pay your swim team activity fee to the GV Aquatic Boosters Club. In order to be eligible for the team, each swimmer must be able to swim 25 meters (1 length) each of two competitive strokes nonstop. Families must be members of Green Valley in order to have their children swim or dive for the GV team. Competitive Diving Team Coach Bob Biese will coach GV s Diving team again this year. The same age groups are used as in swimming. Practice schedule will be posted. Register at the pool office or contact Coach Biese at rjbclb@verizon.net. GV Aquatic Boosters Club The Green Valley Aquatic Club is a volunteer organization of the parents of the members of our swimming and diving teams. The group serves as officials for meets, conducts fundraisers, organizes and runs GVAC s Odd Age Group Meet on an annual basis. Aquatic Club meetings are held at the pavilion before dual meet. Registration forms are available at the Club office or by contacting one of their officers: President: Chuck Bartlett chuck.jeanne@verizon.net

10 Campus Building and Grounds In order to maintain a pleasant and safe campus and grounds, we ask you to honor the following: ALL MEMBERS AND GUESTS MUST WEAR THEIR MEMBER OR GUEST WRIST BAND ON THE ENTIRE 12 ACRE CAMPUS. Do not park on grass (Do not park off of parking lot to park under shade trees) No pets allowed on the grounds. No bicycle riding, skateboards, skates, go-karts, trail bikes, radio-controlled cars, etc. are allowed in the picnic areas, driveways, parking lots/ Members who ride their bikes to the club should park on the grass behind the refreshment stand where a bike rack has been provided. Please keep our grounds beautiful! Deposit all waste in receptacles. No glass containers may be brought into the pool area. No charcoal grills, gas grills, open fires, or hibachis will be allowed in the picnic grove or pavilion. There is an area for these grills in the vicinity of the fireplace. This is a safety practice. Absolutely no unauthorized overnight camping on the club grounds. No throwing or hitting balls of any sort against any buildings or roofs. Locker rooms/bathrooms will be locked when the pool is closed. All groups and individuals must exit the grounds by 9:00 pm unless special arrangements have been made with the club or pool manager or special events are scheduled. All facilities must be left in clean conditions. Please manage your picnic area for litter. No outside deliveries (e.g. pizza deliveries) or outside caterers to GVCC without prior approval of the Pool Manager and Board. Cabana Bar & Alcoholic Beverages It is against PA Liquor Control Board laws to bring alcoholic beverages to the club. All alcoholic beverages consumed on the club grounds must be purchased at the club. Bringing in your own alcoholic beverages not only jeopardizes Green Valley CC s liquor license, but risks your membership as well. Members must have their membership cards and only members may purchase alcohol. Members may serve their guests. Gator Bites Refreshment Stand Our new and improved self-serve GATOR BITES REFRESHMENT STAND features a wide variety of fast foods, snacks, ice cream, and beverages. Check for daily and weekly specials. The GATOR BITES STAND is to be used for your pleasure while enjoying food and drink purchased on club grounds only. On weekends and special days, our pavilion has been turned into a CABANA BAR complete with a bar and a grill. Wrist Bands Distribution will be at the Swim Club office during office hours or the Life Guard Shack when the Swim Club office is not open. All members and their children 6 years of age and older, must have a 2016 wrist band in order to use our outdoor facilities. The cost for lost wrist band replacements is $ If members forget their wristband there is a $1 daily guest fee. If no membership card - full guest fee... Under no circumstances, under penalty of suspension, may wristbands or daily guest bands be given or loaned to any other person. This requirement is for your membership protection. No exceptions. Guests must be sponsored by a GVCC member, and each guest is limited to five visits for the summer. Guest rates for the 2016 season are: $8.00 per day and after 4 pm - $4.00. ALL MEMBERS AND GUESTS MUST WEAR THEIR MEMBER OR GUEST WRIST BAND ON THE ENTIRE 12 ACRE CAMPUS. We reserve the right to limit the number of guests due to crowded pool conditions. Each member may sponsor no more than 2 guests per day without permission from the pool manager, and a member may sponsor the same guest no more than 5 times per season, unless they are house guests and pay house guest rates. All non-members are limited to 5 visits to GVCC during a season, regardless of how many members sponsor them. House Guests A house guest is a friend, relative, babysitter or nanny who is a temporary guest in your house, not a friend, relative, neighbor or boarder. Costs are: 1 Week - $40, 2 Weeks - $70, One Month - $100, Season - $175. VIVA Functions Please Note: The Chateau clubhouse and Tent at GVCC are owned and operated by VIVA and they are available to host to your next special event. If you are planning a wedding, rehearsal dinner, reunion, sales meeting, birthday or anniversary party, or any other special occasion, contact the sales staff at Viva Goodlife. Please be courteous to outdoor events such as weddings. Event Parking: when there is a wedding or large event the parking near the Tent and Chateau will be roped off and reserved for the wedding and party guests. Plenty of extra parking is available on the new parking lot: PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN GRASS
