3 ELMHURST SCHOOL SWIMMING GALA 2017 WELCOME TO OUR THIRTY SECOND ANNUAL SWIMMING GALA It is a pleasure once again to make use of the swimming pool at Trinity School. Grateful thanks are extended to the staff and parents who help to make this evening's gala possible. The format of the gala this evening will be the same as in previous years. Qualifying heats have already been held during normal swimming lessons with points awarded to boys who achieved Standard Time in the various individual events. Tonight there will only be Finals, involving the fastest twelve swimmers from each individual event. The winners of the following Finals will receive cups: 4 x 25m Individual Medley - Open 25m Butterfly - Open 25m Freestyle - Form 6 25m Backstroke - Form 6 25m Backstroke Form 5 25m Breaststroke - Form 6 25m Backstroke- Form 4 Medals will be presented to the first three places in all Finals. Medals will also be presented to the winning team in stroke relays. The top junior swimmer (Years 3/4) will be awarded the Junior Cup. The top senior swimmer (Years 5/6) will be awarded the Dodson Cup. The boy making the most progress in swimming this year will be awarded the Leathwood Shield. The boy making the most progress in butterfly this year will win the Ogunfeibo Cup. The boy consistently displaying good sportsmanship will win the Prior Cup. The winners of the Parent/Son Races (non-scoring) will receive a shield. All trophies will be formally presented on Speech Day. 2
