1 The Seahorse ( ) #6 Boulder County Championships: The Knights won the 27 th consecutive Boulder County Championships. Loveland High attended the meet this year to fulfill our obligation to swim them in a meet. The score of the top four teams: Fairview 902, Monarch 567, Boulder 439, Loveland 367. The Knights won three individual events and all three relays. Fairview was led by Brittney Beetcher, Julia Box, and Julia Benz. Brittney Beetcher defended her title in the 200 free with a 1:54.10 and placed second in the 500 free (5:04.92). Julia Box won the 100 fly (57.09) and finished 5 th in the 100 back (1:01.02). Julia Benz won the diving event with a score of , placing her second on the Boco Top Ten Performers list. The Diving Knights: Joining Julia Benz in diving finals were Ali North ( th ), Maddy Pawlak ( th ) and Jenna Brooks ( th) Points and lettering: The Boulder County Meet rules mandate scoring through 20 places, with the caveat that only four individuals and two relays would score from a team in an event. Fairview lettering guidelines award a sports letter to an athlete who places in the top 20 in an individual event in the BoCo meet. Individual Swim Events: Fairview had eight placers in the 200 freestyle. Joining County Champion Brittney Beetcher were Adee Weller (1: rd ), Aiden Ausley (2: th ), Olivia Phillips (2: th ); Kiana Junior (2: th ) Sarah Dalgleish (2: th ), Alex Guthrie (2: th ) and Shannon Derthick (2: th ). Our eight athletes placing in the 200 IM were Sandra Freeman (2: nd ) Sidney Andrew (2: th ); Lauren Adler (2: th); Molly Box (2: th ); Quinn Adams (2: th ); Sadie Matthews (2: th ); Blair Johnson (2: th ); and Sierra Szeto (2: th ) Filling 11 slots in the top 20 of the 50 free were Jessie Li ( rd ); Sienna Stonesmith ( th ); Logan Tidstrom ( th ); Victoria Felton ( th ): Emma Perkins ( th ); Clare Lupo ( th ); Chloe Vincent ( th ); Maggie Hearn ( th ); Chandler Webster ( th ); Clara Dresselhaus ( th ); and Ingrid Petersen ( th ). In addition to Brittney Beetcher, our placers in the 500 free were Adee Weller (5: rd ), Sandra Freeman (5: th ); Olivia Phillips (5: th ); Lauren Adler (5: th ); Sedona Sanders (5: th ); Blair Johnson (5: th ); and Shannon Derthick (5: th ). Fairview swimmers took 8 of the top 11 places in the 100 backstroke: Lizi Bolles (1: rd ); Aza Verhoeven (1: th ); Julia Box (1: th ); Cailen Chinn (1: th ); Kiana Junior (1: th ); Jenna Hattendorf (1: th ); Emma Perkins (1: th ); and Courtney Carter (1: th ). Also placing were Sierra Szeto (1: th ); Greta Dunn (1: th ) Sofija Andrew (1: th ); and Ingrid Petersen (1: th). Placing 11 of the top 18 spots in the 100 breaststroke were Sidney Andrew (1: nd ); Chloe Vincent (1: th ); Quinn Adams (1: th ); Amelia Nadelson (1: th ); Lucie Majeticova (1: th ); Caelyn Kinderman (1: th ); Elyssa Hofgard (1: th ); Hannah Freeman (1: th ); Iva Majeticova (1: th ); Amelia Heckman (1: th ) and Cassidy Waldrip (1: th ). Relays: The members of our winning 200 medley relay (1:50.33) were Julia Box (27.54), Sidney Andrew (30.55), Sienna Stonesmith (26.61) and Maggie Hearn (25.63). Our Fairview B 200 medley relay placed 3rd (1:54.76) and was comprised of Aza Verhoeven (29.37), Chloe Vincent (32.25), Sandra Freeman (27.16), and Emma Perkins (25.98). The winning 200 free A team (1:39.97) consisted of Michaela Mullison (25.46); Sidney Andrew (24.53); Jessie Li (24.99) and Brittney Beetcher (24.99). The 200 free B team placed 4th (1:43.22) and was swum by Logan Tidstrom (25.72); Maggie Hearn (25.59); Aiden Ausley (25.67); and Victoria Felton (26.24). The champion 400 free relay (3:40.62) was comprised of Jessie Li (55.20), Brittney Beetcher (54.29), Adee Weller (55.93), and Julia Box (55.20). The 400 free B relay placed 2nd (3:43.52) and was composed of

3 Cailen Chinn (57.47), Logan Tidstrom (55.85), Sandra Freeman (55.52) and Michaela Mullison (54.68). New state qualifiers: Our team goal for the season is 33 qualifiers. Seven new athletes were added to our state qualifier list at BoCo: Lauren Adler (200IM); Logan Tidstrom (50 and 100 free); Victoria Felton (50 free); Sadie Matthews (100fly), Greta Dunn (100 fly); Sarah Dalgleish (100 free); and Lucie Majeticova (100 breast). These athletes bring our season total to 30.Last year our team had 31 qualifiers, a school record. Ten of our state qualifiers this year are non-uss athletes. Best Times and Complete Results: A partial list of personal best times from the Boulder County Championships is included below. The complete results will be posted on the website. Team Events: Touch the Wall Special Screening Sunday, February 1: You are invited to an exclusive showing of the critically acclaimed, inspirational, motivational Missy Franklin / Kara Lynn Joyce documentary, Touch the Wall. Touch the Wall Sunday Feb 1, :00 PM (prior to Super Bowl) Fairview High School Auditorium There is no charge for this optional event, nor is attendance mandatory. Tickets are free but you need to secure tickets prior to the event. Priority for tickets will be given to swimmers, Fairview parents/families and coaches. We have invited other area high school and club teams. We need your responses - including number of requested tickets - by 5;00 pm on January 23. However, CHSSA has requested coaches do not have contact with our team so the coaching staff will sit apart from the team.

Last Dual Meet: Fossil Ridge at Epic Wednesday, January 28 On Wednesday, January 28, we will swim the last dual meet of the season against Fossil Ridge High at the EPIC pool in Fort Collins. Athletes will be excused at 1:45PM. A two way bus will leave Fairview at 1:55PM. Warm up begins at 3PM. Competition starts at 4PM. Sack dinners will be provided to the athletes. The meet is expected to end shortly after 6PM. and the bus should return to Fairview by 7:30PM Please respond to swimfhs@gmail.com.
