2 Registration information: The registration for Furman Tennis Camp must be complete before the first week of camp. Each program will have limited numbers of participants. Waiting list will be available. Payment by check only. After school programs: (Limited participants) Tuesday & Thursday 4:30-6:30 1 Star program: $160 Monthly 1 day/per week 2 Stars program: $280 Monthly 2 days/ per week 3 Stars program: $360 Monthly 3-days/ per week No star program: $45 day *Video Analysis contact Kelly Jones *Multifamily discount Available HP Performance Camp Programs: Monday, Wednesday & Friday 11:30a-1:30p/5:00p-7:00p These programs are geared to the player already participating in the After School Programs but looking for more tennis on a daily basis. 2 to 1 ratio will be the cornerstone of this program for more personalized instruction. 3 Facilities: The Furman tennis complex is one of the best facilities in the area. The facility contains 13 outdoor courts and 4 indoor courts. Facility address: Furman University 3300 Poinsett Highway Greenville, SC Coaching staff: Kelly Jones - Men s Tennis Head Coach Kelly Jones is in his fourth season as the Furman head men s tennis coach. Last season the Paladins fought their way into the national rankings at #75 for the first time in 6 years. After a great conference record of 9-1 they lost in the SoCon conference finals to Elon. In his first 2 seasons Jones guided the team to the quarterfinals of the SoCon Tournament. Jones, a native of San Diego, Calif., is among the top developmental coaches globally. Over the last decade, he has coached some of the best professional tennis players in the world, including Mardy Fish, currently the top-ranked American and No. 8 player in the world, and James Blake, who has been ranked as high as fourth world-wide. His other players include two Top 20 performers, John Isner and Xavier Malisse, along with many other Top 100 performers. Prior to his coaching career, Jones established himself among the top professional tennis players on the ATP. In 1998, he reached the mixed doubles finals at Wimbledon, then won the ATP Tour Singapore singles championship in both 1989 and Jones attained a #1 doubles ranking on the ATP Tour in October of 1992, then went on to reach the doubles finals at the U.S. Open and the Australian Open that same year. The 1994 World Team Tennis Player of the Year, he also won the doubles championship on the ATP Tour at St. Polten in After retiring from professional tennis in 1998, Jones spent six years as a USTA National Coach scouting, recruiting, and developing the nation s best junior tennis players. During his collegiate career, Jones won NCAA doubles titles in 1984 and 1985, and then led Pepperdine to the finals of the NCAA Championship the following year. A four-time All-American, Jones dropped a 3-6, match to Furman s Ned Caswell in the second round of the 1986 NCAA Tournament. Prior to his junior year at Pepperdine, he also competed as a member of the 1984 U.S. Olympic team. In May of 2013, Jones was inducted into the Intercollegiate Tennis Association s (ITA) Men s Collegiate Tennis Hall of Fame.

4 Colt Gaston Men s Tennis Assistant Coach Gaston began coaching professionally in 2008 and has served as president of the Colt Gaston Tennis Academy and director of the ATI Tennis Academy since Colt has worked with three players ranked top 100 in the ATP/WTA polls, while 15 of his players have earned a national ranking and ten have received Division I tennis scholarships. Prior to his time as a professional coach, Gaston played professionally, reaching the top 500 on the ATP tour. He claimed three Future Doubles Championship Titles and was a member of the Dunlop ATP traveling squad. Gaston, a native of Rome, Ga., earned a bachelor's degree in General Studies from LSU in A four-year letter winner for the Tigers, he captured ITA Doubles All-American honors as a junior after reaching the NCAA Doubles Quarterfinals. The 2007 SEC Indoor Doubles Champion defeating John Isner, Gaston teamed with Danny Bryan to conclude the season ranked sixth in the nation. Gaston garnered second-team All-SEC accolades as a sophomore and was named to the SEC Honor Roll his junior and senior seasons. Tami Whitlinger-Jones Whitlinger-Jones comes from one of America's great tennis families, the Whitlinger's, from Neenah, Wis. Growing up in a small town Whitlinger-Jones and her twin sister Teri were developed by their grandfather Warren "Baba" Whitlinger. They trained in a one-court facility that was an old barn converted into an indoor tennis court. With "Baba's" guidance, Whitlinger- Jones became one of the United States best junior players. She won six USTA National Junior titles and was the nation's #1 ranked junior in both singles and doubles. She received a full scholarship to play at Stanford, where she played #1 singles and was instrumental in Stanford s back-to-back NCAA Team Championships. After two successful years at Stanford, Whitlinger-Jones left the collegiate game to pursue her dream of a professional tennis career. Whitlinger-Jones played nine years on the WTA Tour, competing in 38 grand slam tournaments, winning three tour titles, and achieving a ranking as high as #41. Whitlinger-Jones also had several wins over Top 10 players. In 1997, Whitlinger-Jones retired from professional tennis when she became pregnant with her daughter Makenna, now 14 years old. While enjoying motherhood, Tami has continued to stay involved in the game of tennis. She became Director of Tennis for Four Bridges Country Club in the Cincinnati, Ohio area, where she began to focus herself on training and developing junior players. In 2003, Whitlinger-Jones relocated to Tampa, Fla. While in Tampa, she coached privately and trained high-performance junior tennis players. For the past several years Whitlinger-Jones has been helping her husband build their very successful Tennis Family Consulting business.

5 Policies: New student: We have limited number of participants. The parents will be contacted if we have openings. Rain: The decision to move the program to the indoor facility due the inclement weather or cancel the program will be made (to the best of our ability)1 hour before the start of the clinic. Notifications will be sent by or text message. Indoor backup is only available if not in use by the Men s or Women s Teams or Club Members. Clinics cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances will be scheduled for make-up day.
