2 Welcome The 2016 Tennis Victoria Premier League season promises to be as exciting as ever, with an increased total prizemoney pool to $20,000. With another stellar field, a showcase month of Victoria s highest level inter club league is assured. Will Grace Park Hawthorn Club achieve a rare three peat in the men s league after winning the 2014 and 2015 titles? All eyes will be on the men s Country All Stars Team, who are an important part of the Victorian competition pathway, to see if they can grab a finals spot in 2016 after their highly competitive 2015 season. The return of Liston Tennis Club to the highest level in the women s league will be great to watch as will the continued resurgence of the men s Bundoora Tennis Club. The season will culminate on Saturday 9 April at Glen Iris Valley Recreation Club. A highlight of the Victorian tennis calendar, the day will include our ANZ Tennis Hot Shots League State Gala Day for juniors. I would like to wish all clubs and players the best of luck for the season, and thank the many volunteers and officials who work tirelessly to make the Tennis Victoria Premier League possible. 3 Match Format Matches allocated to 2 courts Court A Court B 1. No.1 doubles rubber No.2 doubles rubber 2. No.1 singles rubber No.3 singles rubber 3. No.2 singles rubber No.4 singles rubber Note: If match is allocated 4 courts, then the 2 doubles rubbers shall be played followed by all 4 singles rubbers over 4 courts Doubles Rubbers Played as best of 2 doubles tiebreak sets. If one set all at the conclusion of the second set, a match tiebreak (first to 10 with an advantage of 2 points) will be played to determine the winner. The doubles match tiebreak counts as a set and a game won. Doubles rubbers will use a non-ad scoring system, with the receiver choosing the service side when the game reaches deuce. The nominated singles No.1 player listed for that match must play in the No.1 doubles pair, if selected for doubles. Singles Rubbers Played as best of 3 tiebreak sets. Method of scoring For each rubber win, one point will be awarded to the team winning the rubber. At the conclusion of the match, the winning team will be awarded with two bonus points. There is a maximum 8 points available for each match.

4 Women s Competition Dendy Park Tennis Club Preseason ranking: 6 Dendy Park will feature a host of youngsters including Jessie Mount and Gabriela Sprague, who will gain invaluable experience across the competition period and look to upset some of their more experienced opponents. 5 Liston Tennis Club Preseason ranking: 3 The club returns to Tennis Victoria Premier League and looms as the real wildcard team for With Viktorija Rajicic and Katherine Westbury at number 1 and 2 in their squad, Liston will certainly be in contention at the business end of the season.
