Fowler Ave. Tampa, Fla., O: (813) / C: (320) / E: mheise@usf.edu Quick Hits - The Bulls have three transfers and three freshmen on this season s team, adding an influx of talent to the 2015 roster. - Courtney Draper begins her fourth season with the Bulls, and gathered just her third recruiting class as the head coach of USF. She is through three seasons as 2015 opens. - Junior transfer Elyse Panick rejoins junior outside hitter Dakota Hampton this season for the first time since the duo teamed up to win a National Championship in club volleyball during the spring of The duo lead USF at #1 and #2 with the most career collegiate kills. - Senior Wylie Devlin was named the team captain for Devlin is one of just two players to have been on the roster since the start of Coach Draper s tenure, and has been an all-purpose, do-what sneeded player who has handled three different positions while with the Bulls. - Junior Denise Belcher comes to the Bulls from the University of Florida as one of the best leapers on the team. Belcher touches 10 4, and puts up a big block on the outside for USF. - USF has increased its size at the setter position over the past two years, signing 5 11 Alex Mendoza as a freshman in 2014, and 6 0 Molly Burkhardt in Previously limited to playing a 6-2 offense due to setter size, the Bulls will be fully capable of running either a 6-2 or 5-1 offense in Series Records - USF has never faced Alabama A&M, Friday s opener marking the first meeting between these two teams. - The Bulls hold a 3-0 edge over North Florida, taking on the Ospreys in three consecutive years from USF swept two of those three meetings, including the last one in FIU edged the Bulls in 2014, but recent history gives the advantage to USF. The Bulls are 15-3 against the Panthers since 1983, FIU holding a record against USF all-time. 11 Dakota is one of the strongest competitors we ve had in our program since I ve been here. Her drive and desire to win is stronger than most Division I athletes. She s a great 6-rotation player for us. - Draper Dakota Hampton 2.02 KPS 2.5 DPS 265 PTS in 14 JUNIOR Collected career-best 16 kills Sept. 5, 2014 vs. Buffalo Joli s arm is getting so much faster. It s funny to call her the experience middle because she s only a sophomore, but she s the oldest of our middle blockers. Her experience and athleticism is hard to stop. - Draper 6 Joli Holland 1.24 KPS 0.76 BPS 175 PTS in 14 SOPHOMORE Lone loss when hitting FG vs. UConn Another great 6-rotation player. Elyse passes and plays defense really well for her size. She s our only lefty attacker, and gives our opponents a lot to think about. -Draper 15 Elyse Panick 2.26 KPS 2.52 DPS PTS in 14 JUNIOR Leads team with 489 career kills Wylie is one of the easiest players to play with. She s a really good communicator, and gives maximum effort all the time. She s always pushing her teammates to be better. -Draper 8 Wylie Devlin 3.06 DPS 6 ACES 701 CAREER DIGS SENIOR Played as a setter during FR/SO year before moving to Libero Molly s defense has improved tremendously since she s been with us. She s one of our strongest blockers, and has the ability to hit or set. -Draper 7 Molly Burkhardt FRESHMAN Sets and hits on the right side Ady has great versatility. I think she can impact our team on either pin. She s continuing to grow, develop and get better every week. -Draper 23 Denise is our highest and fastest player. She has a really fast arm, and we can give her a nice tempo ball knowing she ll hit it hard. -Draper Clara is becoming a lot quicker in transition, and is doing a good job off of one foot. -Draper Priscilla Ehieze SOPHOMORE 1.57 KPS 0.3 BPS 109 PTS in twenty-point games in Nikki has been one of our most consistent passers throughout preseason. She puts up a great out-of-system ball, and she is also extremely competitive. 33 -Draper Nikki Koval FRESHMAN Won HS National Championship as a senior Alex is the one who is working when no one is watching. She s a great leader for our program, and has a great grasp of what we re asking from our setters in terms of how 19 to run our offense. She has great tempo to pins and spreads out the offense. -Draper Alex Mendoza SOPHOMORE 5.69 APS 1.48 DPS Contributed career-high 49 assists at Tulane on Nov. 23, 2014 Alexus is an amazing athlete. She s one of our best blockers. She s also very tough, having fought through some injuries. I think she s going to be an important and impactful player for us this year. -Draper 16 Alexus Heidelberg JUNIOR 1.35 KPS 1.07 DPS 0.39 BPS Recorded career-high 13 kills at Auburn on Sept. 13, 2014
