FISCAL IMPACT STATEMENT The petitioner has paid a fee of $6, for the investigation of this request pursuant to Section 7.42 of the Administrative Code. Any deficit fee to recover the cost pursuant to Section 7.44 of the Administrative Code may be required of the petitioner. DISCUSSION: Request: The petitioner, George E. McCall, owner of the properties shown outlined in yellow on Exhibit "A", is requesting the vacation of the public street area shown colored blue. Zoninq and Land Use: The properties adj oining the proposed vacation area to the northwest and to the southeast are both zoned C2-2D-0 and are developed with an automobile dealership together with its parts department and service facility. To the southwest lies the Santa Monica Freeway. Description of Area to be Vacated: The area sought to be vacated is Lebanon Street from Venice Boulevard to approximately 165 feet southwesterly thereof. Lebanon Street in this area is an alley and is dedicated 20 feet wide and improved. Lebanon Street is a continuous alley lying beneath the Santa Monica Freeway connecting Venice Boulevard and 18th Street. The alley continues southwesterly to Washington Boulevard. Adioininq Streets: Figueroa Street is an improved class II Maj or Highway dedicated 99 feet wide with a 67-foot wide roadway, curbs, gutters and a 16 - foot wide sidewalk on both sides. Venice Boulevard is an improved Secondary Highway dedicated 60 feet wide with a 40-foot wide roadway, curbs, gutters and a 10-foot wide sidewalk on both sides. Flower Street is an improved Secondary Highway dedicated 90 feet wide. It is a one-way street (south bound only) with a 35-foot wide half roadway and 10-foot wide sidewalk adj oining the MTA Blue Line rail system. Surroundinq Properties: The property owners in proximity to the proposed vacation have been notified of the proposed street vacation.

No.9 Effects of Vacation on Circulation and Access: The proposed vacation of Lebanon Street from Venice Boulevard to approximately 165 feet southwesterly thereof will have a negative impact on vehicular access and circulation should that portion of the street be closed to through traffic. This alley is currently in use by the general public. During field investigations to this alley, both north and south bounds, vehicular and pedestrian movements in the alley proposed to be vacated were observed. In addi tion, since Flower Street in this area is an one-way, south bound street, vacating this alley would preclude adj acent property owners to use this alley to reach Venice Boulevard northerly of the Santa Monica Freeway.
