1 LET IT GLOW 2017 Thank you for joining Let it Glow 2017 and supporting The Shakespeare Hospice! On Saturday 13 th May, you ll be joining hundreds of other Glow Walkers at the Hospice s 5 th night time walk. This year, the event will be even bigger and better and you ll enjoy entertainment, candy floss, music and lots more as you walk through some of the most historic and beautiful streets in Stratford Upon Avon. This pack will give you all the information you will need for the night and lots of handy tips to boost your fundraising too!

2 On the Day Useful Information Saturday 13 th May Venue Make your way to the Recreational Ground, Stratford Upon Avon Town Centre (CV37 6BB). There is plenty of parking here and toilets will also be on site. Registration for the event will start from 6.45pm, get there nice and early to avoid having to queue! Ross Jarvis and his team from Clubercise will be warming you up at 8.15pm ready for the walk to start at 8.30pm. Route by now you would have signed up to either the 5k or 10k route. Both will start and finish at the Rec. The Map at the back of the pack highlights both routes which will take you around the Recreation grounds, through Old Town and in and out the bustling streets of Stratford. You can enjoy Ice Cream and Candy Floss along the way too!

Important Please remember to sign back in with one of our volunteers once you have finished the walk so we can keep track of our Glow Walkers and make sure everyone has returned safely.

We recommend that walkers bring with them a hand torch to take along the route. Please make sure that children are accompanied at all times.

Glow Packs You can also buy glow packs online for just 6 and these will be available to collect at registration. 4 Why Let it Glow? The Shakespeare Hospice is one of the lowest funded Hospices in the UK receiving just 5% from Government funding. We therefore rely on the generosity and support of the local community to help us raise over 2 Million each to allow us to run our services. By taking part in this event you are helping us continue our vital care in the community and local surrounding areas. Fundraising This year, we ask all walkers to help boost these funds even further by fundraising just 30 sponsorship for their walk. Our fundraising team are here to help with any fundraising ideas you may have or to give you some inspiration. Here are a few ideas to get your fundraising off to a glowing start Cake Sale easy and fun! Simply hold at work, school or at your local club. Ask friends and family to help by donating a homemade cake Hold a Coffee morning at your local village hall or even at work you can include cake and plants stalls, a raffle, bric-a-brac and a tombola Hold a quiz simple and easy to do. Get some prizes and see if you can hold it in your local Gift Aid with gift aid each donation is worth an extra 25% to us. All you need to do is ask your friends and family to tick the box when they sponsor you

This year we re asking you to fundraise just 30 sponsorship for this glowing extravaganza. Your 30 could help: - Fund 3 Complimentary Sessions for a patient or carer - Provide lunch for up to 6 of our patients in our Day Hospice - Buy 3 workbooks for children who have lost a family member and help them make sense about what has happened **********COMPETITION********** Your sponsorship really does make such a difference to the Hospice, that s why we re offering the walker that raises the most sponsorship a chance to win an AMAZING pamper day for two at Regal Hair and Beauty in Stratford-upon-Avon! The prize for 2 x 30 minute treatments each, a wash and blow dry and cream tea. The child (under 12) who raises the most will win a family ticket to the Butterfly Farm in Stratford-upon-Avon!
