6 6 WELCOME TO THE LAIR Good afternoon and welcome to Lingfield Football Club for today s FA Vase First Round tie with Epsom & Ewell. Saturday was much better from us and it was great to have Brendan back and doing what he does best, scoring goals, I didn't think we played as well as we have done in previous games but it was a very welcome 3 points, we controlled the game for most of it and Callum made a few great saves and was brave on numerous occasions at vital times in the game. We scored some great goals especially Brendan's where Curt played a lovely ball down the line and Brendan picked the ball up and cut inside and finished superbly, we gave ourselves a few hairy moments towards the end but held off for the 3 points. Established 1893 Sports Pavilion, Godstone Road, Lingfield, Surrey, RH7 6BT 44 2 DESIGNS antscott7@hotmail.co.uk Tuesday for me 2nd half was our worse performance in a very long time, with Brendan, Callum, Frithy missing we were a little bit short but we should have had enough to beat them, I thought in the first 20 minutes we played well getting behind their defence with Harry and Joel causing their full backs a lot of problems but then we lost Joel which we hope isn't too serious as he is a very important player for us and then Marco who didn't give their number 10 (who proved to be the thorn in our side second half) a kick when he was on the pitch. The second half they were the better side and we didn't look like scoring which is concerning as previously I have always thought we would create and score goals. Saturday's game is massive for the club and the Village and we will be playing a very good Epsom side but we still believe that we can give anyone a game on our day and will be looking to get into the next round. Enjoy the game, C mon the Lingers! Gareth Graham LFC Coach v Epsom & Ewell // Saturday 1 November
7 Saturday at home to Cray was a great all round performance from the boys and we should have won by more. Callum in goal ensured no one got past him in the first half and was different class in goal. He was racing off his line for everything... Unfortunately though he collided with a Cray player, injuring himself, and that made the game a little more difficult for us. SKIPPERS NOTES 7 Brendan with his first goal back. he didn't have to wait to long for his second either! it was nice to see the ball go in the back of their net and stay out of ours at the same time. We lived dangerously through the second half but I managed to end my three week drought and give us the victory we deserved. It was good to have Brendan back who had carried us through the first few games of the season, he has a great eye for goal. After all our decent link up play in the first twenty minutes, it was a simple flick on from the throw in that presented We have been supported so well for the first couple of months of the season and I heard the cheers when we took a 3-1 lead. Its a much better feeling when you can give them something to smile about on a Saturday night... Joel Saturday 1 November // v Epsom & Ewell

10 10 MATCH ACTION 3-2 SATURDAY 25 OCTOBER SOUTHERN COUNTIES EAST LEAGUE After 3 consecutive losses we looked to grab a win against Cray Valley, who we beat 4-2 earlier in the season. Shallow. After more chances for both sides as well as some rough challenges we doubled our lead through Brennan Kiernan, finishing well into the top left corner. The game started slowly, with Cray We started the second half as we left seeming comfortable passing it the first, looking strong and dangerous. However it would be Cray who around their back line. However we began to press them and after some struck first, countering down the good attacks down the flanks we got flank and crossing for Jones to head our first goal of the afternoon, in. Hoping to not repeat the second scored by Harry Sintim. Shortly after half slip ups we ve seen in recent an injury forced Cray to make a substitution, taking off Felix Ogeah-An- despite the second half being largely games the team rallied together and drews for Alex Chambers, and they end to end we seemed confident slowly began getting into the game. both defensively and offensively. After lots of end to end play and a Our attacking play improved as the few good chances there was a heated discussion between Harry Sintim of pressure from Cray we came for- game progressed and after a period and the manager, leading to Sintim ward and scored for the third time, being subbed off in favour of Curtly v Epsom & Ewell // Saturday 1 November
11 11 Joel O Hara heading home a Matthew Warren cross at the near post. Following the goal Odane Smith replaced Abraham Udofia and Cray managed to hit the crossbar via a free kick, but the game seemed very much in our hands. There was a scare towards the end as Cray Valley chested in a cross to bring the score to 3-2 but we still seemed in control and as the final whistle blew we celebrated a welldeserved victory. Hopefully we can replicate this form against Epsom and Ewell in the FA Vase on Saturday. Saturday 1 November // v Epsom & Ewell
