2 A word from Upper Hutt City Mens Coach Hi all and welcome to Maidstone Park Today is the last game of the round and it is against our local rivals Lower Hutt. A number of players from our squad have played for Lower Hutt City previously which makes this game very interesting for both clubs. Local derbies are always special because of the history of both clubs and because neither side want to lose these games. There will be a lot of pressure for players,coaches,manager and everyone involved but at the end of the day it is just another game of Football. I would like to welcome Brendan and his team to Maidstone Park. But personally I would like to welcome Bob Walker to our new clubrooms. Bob has been a very special person for me and my family. He helped and supported me a lot during my time at Lower Hutt and even though today we are rivals for 90 minutes I'm sure that after the game we will be friends again. Before I end this match report, I would like to acknowledge the importance of picking up the 3 points last week, away, against Wellington United. It was a very ugly game but at the end of the day a win which helps establish us in the Central League away from relegation for now. Enjoy the game Pedro

3 Word from Upper Hutt City Womens Coach Upper Hutt City Women s 1st Team extend a warm welcome to Seatoun and their supporters at Maidstone Park. Today gives the ladies a chance to showcase their talents as the warm up match to the Men s 1st Team Central League Match against Lower Hutt City. Both sides are riding high with confidence with Seatoun coming off a 2-0 win over Valeron to remain 3rd on the table and Upper Hutt City Women s 1st Team securing their second win of the season to climb out of the relegation zone for now and knowing if they are able to take the points from today s match they are one step closer to survival for the 2014 Women s Central league Season. This season has been a rebuilding year for Upper Hutt City Car Sales Women s 1st Team. We are lucky to have a great mix of experienced players and some young up and coming players. If the players continue to work hard the way they have for each other and the majority stick around for the next year or 2 then the club is in great shape for the future. 6 Special Acknowledgement Today we welcome a great football family friend to Maidstone, Graham Watson. Both Upper Hutt and Lower Hutt will observe a minute s silence prior to kick off to acknowledge the passing of Sue Watson back in April Sue was a true football champion and amazing supporter of husband Graham throughout his football years. Graham and Sue are friends with so many in our football community and many of you will know Sue from the time that Graham was involved at both Upper Hutt ad Lower Hutt We ask that you join us today in remembering Sue as you knew her and reflect on the friendships we all had with Sue. I m sure Sue is watching down on us all today here at Maidstone on this special occasion where both Upper Hutt and Lower Hutt meet. We think of you of often Graham and family Rest easy Sue Xxx

7 Player Profile Parker Maher Many of you will have noticed another new face in the Upper Hutt Squad. A warm welcome to American Parker Maher who joins us for the bulk of the season from Missouri. Parker has come to us through the connections we have with Michael Seabolt at Missouri State Bears who many of you may know. Seabolt was instrumental in the recruitment of the two American players we brought out way back in 2008 with Brian Pasierb and Andy Cooper. Seabolt has coached Parker since he was 15 years old first at youth level and now at University. Seabolt says He is a dynamic player with technical ability, dynamic dribbling, pace, and strength. He can play anywhere on the left side and in the middle. He has a good shot from distance and can cross the ball well. Parker has all the attributes to be a top player and potential professional if he continues to grow. He is a determined young man, a great student, and quality person. I am excited to have him join Upper Hutt and am confident he will be an asset. Hopefully the experience in New Zealand will only serve to make him that much better and confident when he returns to Missouri State University in August Parker has been in New Zealand two weeks now and is settling in well with his first full game last week. Parker says of his first two weeks in New Zealand I am enjoying experiencing a different style of football to what I am use to in the States. It s unusual to compete against players over 24 years of age. It forces me to make adjustments to fit the play. Upper Hutt has made me feel very welcome in the club. New Zealand is certainly a beautiful country and I ve enjoyed every day thus far. We welcome you to Upper Hutt Parker and hope you enjoy your time here, I am sure you will all make Parker feel Welcome.

First on the turf are our Upper Hutt City Car Sales Women s Central League team who, last week, defeated fourth-placed Marist 2-1 with goals from Lucy Sneddon and Georgia Meachin. This was their second win in a row, lifted them off the foot of the table and may hopefully see a turning point in their confidence and results. What a difference a goalkeeper makes? Today s opponents are Seatoun who have been a powerhouse women s club over many years. At the moment, they are in third place with 21 goals for and five against. Their scorers have been [shirt numbers] Ana Olsen [2] 5, Maxine Cooper [13] 4, Kelly Stembridge [4] & Louise Potts [14] 2, Careena Oosterbaan [not in latest list] & Jamie Middleton [8] 1. Our Upper Hutt City Car Sales Men s Central League team has, so far, fared rather better than many expected in their first year of Central league with today s game being the last game of the first round, we will have played every team once. We currently sit in fourth-equal place on points with today s opponents Lower Hutt and Western Suburbs but our goal difference puts us in sixth. Since the last Hooligan, we lost in a rather listless fashion 1-4 (Javier Montalba) to Napier City Rovers at home, and beat Wellington Utd 2-1 (Peter Howe (p), Luis Corrales). Lower Hutt s scorers have been [shirt numbers] Hamish Watson [21] & Nathaniel Hailemariam [18] 3, Allan Keddie [4], Andrew Coad [77], Cameron Lidstone [9], James Craughwell [5], Kade Schrivers [6] & Karl Romijn [returned to Tawa 1. Hailemariam bagged a brace and Watson, Schrivers and Daniel Minshull one each in their Chatham Cup win on Monday. At 5:30 our third team in Capital Four will be playing Lower Hutt Ancient Ones on the turf. I don t know how ancient Lower Hutt s ones are, but they sit in ninth place on the table immediately above us in tenth. Our thirds results since the last programme have been a 0-6 loss to Tawa Devilz and a 1-1 (Tom Bradley) draw with IBU Sea Captains.

12 Harcourt Hooligan Our seconds in Capital Two beat Tawa Bulldogs 3-1 (Hamish McLachlan, Mike Sharp, Haemania Puna) and Wellington United 4-1 (Steve Coleman 2, Puna, Richie Henderson) lately. They are 5th on the table and don t play today, but will meet Lower Hutt (7th) at Petone Memorial turf on Tuesday at 8pm. The UH Saints in Capital Eight have been top-of-the-table all season but have finally slipped up. With commitment/availability problems affecting them, they have lost 4-5 (Diego Barrera, Chris Bingham, Marty Leck, Neville Philp) to Petone Stonecutters and 0-2 to Tawa Devilz. They are now in fourth place by my reckoning but third by Capital Football s. Today they play Waterside Karori Meke (8th) at Harcourt 2, 2:30. Alex Allen scored for the UH Marauders for a 1-1 draw against Western Suburbs in Capital Eleven, and Brett Faint did the deed in a 1-0 win over Waterside Karori Marmosets. They sit fourth and today play fifth-placed Waterside Karori Honey Badgers on Harcourt 1 at 2:30 pm. In the same grade, UH Defence lost 1-8 (Mark Brian) to Victoria University Amigoes and drew 2-2 (Ollie Smith, Brian) with Watersdie Karori Stevedores. This leaves them in eighth place and today they play tenth-placed Wellington Olympic AKA away. The Capital Fourteen Creeps drew 2-2 with Island Bay Utd Pak n Save (Ollie Gascoigne, Richard Gibson-Smith) and beat North Wellington Sinners 2-1 (Brent Leitch 2). In fourth place they play second-placed Marist today. This top-of-thetable clash will be at Harcourt 2 at 12:30. In Capital Fifteen, the Slayers had a bit of a relapse to their old ways with a 1-8 (Toa Kaleopa) loss to Wellington Olympic but then recovered with a 3-3 (Barrie MacDonald 2, Kaleopa) draw with Stop Out. They find themselves at the dizzying heights of fourth place by my reckoning (sixth by Cap Fed s) and today play North Wellington Rovers who [we agree] are in third place. Dave Bevan is a name from the past and he and Tristan Elder scored in the RJs 2-1 win over Victoria University Bombers in Masters 4. Last weeks 5-3 (Chris Jones 2, Elder, Steve Andrews, John Blaikie) win over Island Bay Utd Internationals left the RJs in second place. They will need full body armour today for their game against ninth-placed Wainuiomata Pacifica by all accounts. The halfway point of the season sees our Capital Women s Two team finish second on the table with 19 goals for and 5 against, so earning promotion to Capital Women s One for the second half of the season. Their last two games in CW2 saw a 2-1 (Aoi Uchida, Lisa Leighton) win over Wests and a 1-1 (Amanda Hewitt) draw with Stop Out. Tomorrows fixture is with Petone Pure on the turf at 2pm.
