3 Bosham Bosham FC is a West Sussex Premier Division side, based three miles west of the football club plays a pivotal role in the local community, and are now back on the up. Images courtesy of Carl Payne The Robins were founder members of the Sussex County League Division 3 in 1983/84 alongside current Conference South side, Eastbourne Borough (then known as Langney Sports), and although such heights may not realistic for the village side, close season progress on-and- Vase entrants has given them renewed optimism in making a return to the division they were cruelly demoted from in Tony Hancock s side had a strong pre-season against teams higher up the pyramid, and got off to a great start in the League by winning at last season s champions, Cowfold. The manager has draughted in a couple of new faces including striker Billy Huntley who has Wessex League experience with to help towards their aim of winning the West Sussex League, in perhaps one of the most open Premier Divisions for many years, with half-a-dozen teams capable of taking the title. 26 ISSUE 39

Commercial Manager Simon Jasinski has helped increase support from local businesses to provide new kit, pitch maintenance and programme printing in traditionally iona one of the more challenging aspects of running a football club at this level. Ongoing revenue initiatives have also beenen set-up with easyfundraising and GrassRoot sroo Media, who provide advertising boards for the newly painted dressing rooms which have also efforts of club custodian, Dick Doncaster, who alongside his wife, Treasurer, Geraldine have been the lifeblood of the club for many years. The playing surface is the envy of many visiting sides, courtesy of Andy Probee and his team who also doubles-up as the clubs right-back and coach! New signage has been put up in the club car park showcasing and club mugs for sale from the refreshment kiosk. The match day programme has also been given an overhaul - a must-read for groundhoppers while the club website continues to grow, alongside our Twitter please give us a follow! 27

5 Although Bosham are without a youth side this season due to a management re-structure, youth has historically been central to the club s success, developing numerous players over the years who have progressed to other local County League sides and beyond. Most notably defender Toby Pointing, who was part of the Sussex County League Division 3 title winning side of 2010, when just a teenager, is now a regular at Ryman League Division 1 (South), Burgess Hill Town. With the plan very much to revive the youth set-up next season, in the short-term, new reserve team boss team assistant bringing greater competition for places amongst both squads. would give formal recognition of the strides in which the club are making.
