KIRBY AND CO.: Last night, RHP Kirby Yates earned his first save in a Padres uniform it was his second career save (his first coming on July 20, 2014 at MIN, while pitching for Tampa Bay in his rookie season)...the Padres bullpen has now accrued four consecutive saves, which is the longest save streak for the Padres this season and the longest active safe streak in the Majors. This season, the Padres have 30 saves, ranking fifth most in the Majors. TRIPLE-DOUBLE: INF/OF Jose Pirela hit two triples in last night's game for the first time in his career it was the 16th time a Padre hit two triples in a game since Nick Hundley did so on August 16, 2011, and he became the 15th Padre to accomplish the feat (Dave Roberts recorded a pair of triples in two games in his Padres career) Pirela, who had just four triples in 101 major-league games entering play on Saturday, became the eighth player this season to record multiple triples in a game (ELIAS). THREE'S COMPANY: The Padres' 25 triples this season tie for third-most in the Majors...since the All-Star break, the club has hit 10 triples, which lead the league...the Padres are the only team in the MLto have two triples in the same inning twice this season (last: July 21 at SF). ROSTER MOVES: The Padres reinstated C Austin Hedges from the 10-day concussion list and INF Yangervis Solarte from the 10-day disabled list...hedges makes his return since receiving a foul-ball to the catcher's mask on July 14 vs. SF, and Solarte returns since being place on the disabled list on June 23rd with a left oblique strain...the club optioned OF Jabari Blash and reliever RHP Kevin Quackenbush to Triple-A El Paso. HOME (AND ROAD) IMPROVEMENT: Entering the All-Star break, the Padres'.227 collective batting average ranked last in the league, but since the All-Star game, the Friars are tied for the most hits in the Majors (157), most triples (10), second-most RBI (84), and tied for the second-most runs scored (87). RAMPANT RENFROE: With his double last night, OF Hunter Renfroe has had six extrabase hits in his past seven games (three homers and three doubles)...his 22 doubles lead all National League rookies and rank second-most in the Majors, behind HOU Yuli Gurriel's 27...Renfroe is the only Major League rookie this season to have 20-or-more home runs and doubles (he has 20 homers and 22 doubles). PADRES ON DECK: Advanced Single-A C Austin Allen went 4-for-6 with a double, two homers and six RBI, as the Storm had a total of seven homers in an 18-1 win at Visalia... Michael Gettys, Fernando Perez, Carlos Belen, Edwin Moreno and Kyle Overstreet all homered for the Storm. LHP Adrian Morejon allowed a run on five hits with two strikeouts in his first start since being promoted to Single-A Fort Wayne. LF Robbie Podorsky went 4-for-5 with a triple and a stolen base for short-season Single-A Tri-City. DATES IN PADRES HISTORY: On July 30, 1984, LHP Dave Dravecky pitched the ninth one-hitter in Padres history, shutting out the Dodgers on one-hit with four strikeouts in a complete-game, 12-0 win at San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium. On July 31, 1979, RF Dave Winfield went 5-for-5 with a double, a homer and four RBI in the Padres 10-3 win in Atlanta...in his final at-bat, Winfield became the first Padre to get hits in eight straight at-bats.
