Please be ready for a one hour plus caravan to Christie s on the Square, Salem from Brown County Winery. We start the trip with wine tasting at Brown County Winery. The winery opens at 10:00 am. They have a Black Raspberry wine that is strong and good. Donna and I love their Port also. They have a wonderful selection. Please be at the winey soon enough to sign the waiver. We depart at 11:00 am by heading west on US 46 to US 135 S, which is winding and hilly and sometimes narrow. There is beautiful country side all the way to Salem. The caravan should take about one hour. Allowing additional 15 to 20 minutes to park and arrive at Christie s. In Salem, you need to check out the Victorian style houses, brick streets and the town square. Salem was laid out in The Post Office has been in operation since This is where Morgan s Raid occurred in Then onto Christie s restaurant on the square which has the best criss-cross sweet potato fries. We have planned to be seated around 12:30 pm to provide one hour and thirty minutes to eat and visit. We need to restrict to 15 cars due to banquet room holds 30. There is parallel parking enough for everyone. The secretary to the Mayor said she might be able to block off parking for us. It is a nice two hour ride back to the north side of Indy. To get back to the northside by 4:00 pm you will need to depart Salem by 2:00 pm Please notify James Shaver the date you would like to join us. Register today! Indianapolis: 4 th Annual IMPD Cruisin W/Cops Car Show Westfield High School Home Coming Parade. Save the date: Volunteers needed. Convertibles needed to carry the Court through the Westfield campus. We can use coupes too. If you aren't willing to use your Vette we may need some additional drivers to drive Penske convertibles for the parade. Each year Corvette Indy supports Mike Quinn (Chevrolet District Sales Manager ) in his support of Westfield High School by providing Corvettes and drivers to carry the Westfield Home Coming Court through the campus in their parade. Penske Chevrolet also helps out by providing additional convertibles for club members to drive when we are not able to muster enough club cars. Annually we need somewhere about Vettes for the parade. Please volunteer and support your club as this is Corvette Indy's way to say "thank you" to Mike Quinn for all he does for the Chevrolet owners in general and Corvette Indy specifically each year.
