Happy fall y all! (I m practicing my accent for Eureka Springs.) First of all thank you to Art and Darlene for the September Drive and Eat to Inman that was both delicious and educational. Another thank you to Randy and LIn Smith for making the Funkahana possible, along with Kevin and Kent (and crew) for setting up the course, and finally to Mike and Monte for cooking the burgers and hot dogs. Congratulations to Angie Criggler (first place), Glen Bailey (second place), and Rex Corbin (third place). Everyone had a good time, including those of us who are less gifted and talented on the course. October is going to be a busy and event filled month. We can all share Eureka Springs stories at the meeting on October 6. We will have a drive and eat Officer at Large Mike McKee N.C.C.C. Governor... Save the date because on October 23 you are all invited to my house for a Halloween Party preceded by a rally/scavenger hunt. Costumes are optional but as I remember we had some very creative ones last year. The club will provide hot dogs, chilli, pop, tea, and coffee. You bring your favorite side dish. The party will be at 1242 Emerson in Wichita and we will get out more specifics closer to the party. I also encourage any of you who are interested in e-board for 2012 to be sure and contact me ASAP. 2 October, 2010 Volume 44 - Issue 10 Minutes from the September 1, 2010 ACCC Meeting The meeting was called to order by President Dale Brotton at Don Hattan. Guests: Toni Kowalsky & husband Ben - have a1999 Silver Coupe; Connie King who bought Rex s car and Kent Brummer Thanks to all the members who volunteered for the Black Top Nationals with special recognition to Monte & Chris Rans and Rick & Bev Smiley for their many hours spent in the planning of the auto-cross. The motion was made to accept the minutes as printed; motion seconded - vote taken; majority in favor. UTube has some highlights for the autocross - Christie Bailey took 19 videos and Glen placed them onto UTube. Thanks to the Rans for the last drive and eat. Central Christian Church will be having a car show on 9/ in the checking; $35.00 cash. NCCC Governor - Bob had the following: 9/11 - All Wheels Charity for soldiers; 10-5 pm - $20.00; 9/17 thru 18 - Wichita Falls; 9/18 Manacare (sp) 11-3 pm - free; 9/18 - K42 in Norwich, KS - $20.00; 9-5 pm; 9/25 - Burton Fall Festival; 9-1 pm; 2:00; 9/18 - Effingham; 9/30 - Eureka Springs. Secretary - Chris Rans had nothing else to report. Officer-at-Large - 1st place - Bailey s tied with Mike; 3rd place is Barkers. Old Business Friday, October 8th 8th Drive Drive & Eat & Eat to The Main St. Cafe in Durham, Kansas Meet at the Truck Stop on the South West side Meet at the of Truck the Stop on the 61st South Street West North side and of I-135 the Exit. 61st Street North and Hosted I-135 Exit. By: Funkahana will be 9/12. Kent & Kevin will do the track; Monte will bring the grill and others will bring the food. The Black Top Nationals was the main topic this evening. Rick Knuckles was present and discussed how the idea elevated from small conversations to bigger and more explosive ideas. The Ford president had taken a quick peek at the autocross and was excited. They figure about 100,000 people were around on Saturday during all events. FSN is to air some short shows of the Black Top Nationals starting on 9/5 at 11:00 (channel 34). Barrett Jackson and Ford are very excited which is an indication they will be back! Richard Ayres will talk internally about next year. There was a lot more in discussion but I have no time to give every detail. Sorry.Tentatively the dates are for the same weekend for There were 200 cars in Park City Friday night. Also, the Fallen Heroes Ride took place in Park City - over 100 motorcyclists carried flags and placed them at the VFW.1 per minute with a total of 565 runs. New Business Gene & Marcene Brown Hosted By: Gene & Group Marcene Leaves Brown Promptly at 6:30pm Group Leaves the Truck Stop Promptly at 6:30pm Brad, who works at Walgreens, has suggested a flu shot evening. He would come and do a clinic here at Don Hattan. Flu shots would cost $29.99; also available would be the pneumonia shot. A motion was made to try it and was seconded. The clinic will start around 6:00 pm on the night of the October meeting. 50/50 pot was won by Greg Esping with winnings of $ Gary Henderson won the drawing. Swap & Shop: Rick brought in Black Top Nationals T-shirts and a few hats. Next drive and eat will be on Saturday, September 4th and leaving from the truck stop across from Don Hattan at 5:00 pm. - Buffet style - new destination - museum possible. Meeting adjourned. 5 Volume 44 - Issue 10 October, 2010 Minutes from the September 15, 2010 ACCC E-Board Meeting The meeting was called to order by President Dale Brotton at Brotton s at 7:09 pm. Vice President - ABSENT. Membership approx. 86. Membership renewal time! Treasurer - Glen Bailey submitted his report of $3, in the checking account; $ cash/pending deposit. $1, w/ expenses of $ taken out was the final amount cleared from the Black Top Nationals. Secretary - had nothing to report. Officer-at-Large - Mike McKee had nothing new at this time to report. NCCC Governor - had nothing new. Old Business Too late to vote on making the Central Christian Church car show a club event. Discussion was on the Eureka Springs departure times. Some will leave at 6:00 from 47th and Broadway in order to get down early for the autocross. Others will leave at 8:00 from the Lowes parking lot on East Kellogg and others may leave at 7:00 7:30 depending on how they feel. New Business Discussed having a rally for the Halloween Party in October. Kent & Louise were not quite sure if they would have enough time; will present to the general meeting. New timing lights will probably be needed before the next Black Top Nationals. Quotes will have to be gotten and then brought in for discussion and vote Funkahana we will need utensils and napkins. Formed an election committee in order to get nominations for November elections. Gene Brown has October s drive & eat- going to Durham leaving truck stop at 6:30 on Friday night. November drive & eat will be hosted by Chris & Monte at the bowling alley. Next E-board meeting will be at Glen Bailey s at 7:00 pm. Meeting adjourned. 9 Wichita, Kansas Membership Application Regular Membership dues for ACCC are $50.00 per year for new members and $45.00 per year for renewals. Membership dues include ACCC spouse membership and one National Council of Corvette Clubs (NCCC) membership. If you already have an NCCC membership elsewhere, Regular Membership dues for ACCC are $25.00 per year for new members and $20.00 per year for renewals. Please specify the following: NCCC membership number: Primary Organization: Associate membership, designed for the non-corvette owner, is $25.00 per year for new members and $20.00 per year for renewals. Associate members are entitled to all the privileges of regular membership with the exception of voting and/or holding office. Associate membership does not include NCCC membership. Dues for renewals are payable on September 1st and are considered delinquent after the November ACCC meeting. Renewals received after the November meeting will be considered as new.
