AND TEXAS CORVETTE MOTORSPORT CLUB PRESENT TEXAS RUN N START 14 Event Speed Weekend March 19,20,21, 2010 The members of San Jacinto Corvette Club and Texas Corvette Motorsport Club invite you to join us at Grand Sport Speedway in Hitchcock, Texas, for a 14 event weekend with 14 Texas Low Speed. For those unfamiliar with the track, this is Texas s most historic racing facility, dating back to the 60's and John Mecom s racing stables, which included the Corvette Grand Sport. The 1.3 mile Mako Circuit offers probably the best paved surface of any track in Texas and we plan to offer several challenging course configurations. Check out the video at This is another NO FRILLS event and no awards will be presented. Lodging: A block of rooms has been reserved at the Comfort Inn, 320 TX 146, Texas City, Texas A special rate of $79.99 has been made for the Corvette club. To make reservations call Reservations must be made no later than March 10, There is minimal trailer parking at the hotel; cars, trailers, and motor homes will be allowed over night at the track Registration and Tech: Registration and tech will be held Friday at the track from 8:30am till 5:00pm and registration only from 6:30pm till 8:00pm at the host hotel. If you are not running Tune and Test; please try to arrive early enough Friday to register and tech at the track. To help coordinate workers we have added an anticipated arrival line to the registration form; please complete this line. There is no scheduled tech for either Friday or Saturday nights. Tech sheet will be handed out at registration. Hospitality/Dinner: A room has been reserved at the host hotel for registration and hospitality for Friday night. Lunches will be provided free to those registered for the Complete Day Package for either/or both Saturday/Sunday. Individual entrants and guest may purchase lunches for $10.00 a person. You will not be disappointed in the meal selection. Saturday night s dinner will be at Back 40. An evening everyone will remember. Tune and Test: Arrangements have been made securing the track for Friday March 19, for a Tune and Test day. Cars will be divided into run groups of drivers with similar experience. Track gates open at 8:00am and registration will be held at the administration site. Driver s meeting is scheduled for 9:00am followed by a course drive-thru. Convertibles must be equipped with roll bars. Do not take Old Blimp Base Rd to track! *Note: In High Speed Events: All roadsters must have roll bars as outlined under Section on Technical Inspection for Speed Events. 2. Fire extinguisher (min 5BC) required in all groups and classes. 3. It is highly recommended (required in Group III) that all competing cars be equipped with roll bar or roll cages. 4. All entrants must be High Speed Certified and fire suits are required for Group III. Car numbers MUST be clearly marked on driver AND passenger doors before Tech Inspection, min. 8 in height.
