3 On August 18-19, 2018 NSSCC is proud to present the Council Summer Classic Celebrating 60 Years of Midwestern Council of Sports Car Club. The event will be at Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL. and will not just incorporate Wheel-to-wheel Sprint Racing, High Speed Autocross, and HPDE; but also cars on display and a charity event for the Lemons of Love (501c) Charity that aids in the creation of care packages for chemotherapy patients. The weekend will kick off on Saturday the 18 th on the Autobahn North Course track with a ½ day of HPDE (High Performance Drivers Education) in the morning and a ½ day of High Speed Autocross in the afternoon finishing off the 2018 HSAX Season. Then on Sunday a full day of Wheel-to-Wheel Club racing on the Autobahn South Course track showcasing the 8 th points paying event of the club racing season. Registration starts at 7 am with Drivers Meeting starting at 8 am for both days. There is a lunch break on both days and trophy presentations at their conclusion. Kids 18 & under are FREE! *-Racing crews and drivers are exempt. $15 dollars per head ($5 for Autobahn, $10 for lemons of love). * Kids under 18 are FREE! Track Touring Weather permitting, we will offer 25 minutes of track touring at lunch time each day. Refunds: Refunds will be allowed up to 7 days prior to an event; any request for a refund within 7 days prior to an event will be at the discretion of the event registrar. 5 Driver Eligibility: Drivers must be 18 years old and have a valid state issued driver s license. Minors 16 and 17 years old may participate with a valid driver s license and a Midwestern Council Minor Participation Wavier. License must be presented at tech. General Information: The chief steward of the event may modify, add to, delete from, or grant exceptions to these regulations at any time, at their sole discretion. Driver Safety HSAX: Drivers must wear long sleeve tops and long pants and have closed toe shoes. A Snell Foundation SA2010 or newer helmet with SA rating is required, OEM 3 point harnesses or optional 4-5-point racing harness are also required. Roll Bars/ Roll Cages are required in Convertibles without factory roll-over protection. Any Drivers running in HPDE with Wheel to Wheel vehicles must meet Midwestern Council GCR Safety rules for those wheel to wheel vehicles as specified in the GCR. No alcohol is permitted until after the on track activities have been concluded for the day. Performance impairing substances are prohibited at all times. *If you do not have a SA2010 Helmet, one can be rented when you arrive at Autobahn CC. - $30 Dollar Rental. Numbers: Numbers will be assigned on a first come first serve basis, HSAX MC permanent numbers will generally be honored, numbers must be 6in high in a contrasting color on both side of the vehicle, and may not be Made of Shoe Polish or Blue painters tape. Run Group (HPDE): There will generally be 3 run groups for this event beginner, intermediate, and advanced the passing rules will change based on the group. Passing: It is recommended that all passing be done after giving a point to the overtaking driver, passing more than one car at a time is not advised unless passed vehicle is pointing driver around. Areas where you are allowed to pass will vary depending on the run group, and conditions this will be finalized at the drivers meeting. Passengers: Only Instructors with helmet stickers or Ride along Approved Drivers with Helmet Stickers are allowed to take any passenger during the HPDE sessions, Instructors may also Ride in Students or competitor s vehicles. Instructors: Instruction is Very limited, Instructors are volunteers from the HSAX program and if available will assist drivers with the racing line and basic driving techniques, most of the instructors are also competing at the event, a full day on track school is available for those who want more instruction. * Please sign up on Motorsport Reg.com! On-Track Behavior: Front windows must be down in any weather, Honor the blend line when entering the track, watch your mirrors and corner stations. You will be black flagged if you are not paying attention. Not all corners will be manned. When exiting the track put your left hand out the window to signal you are slowing down, move off line. Only exit the track at the location approved at the morning drivers meeting unless your car is having a mechanical issue. Any off track excursions 5

6 will bring you into the pits for a talk with the steward. Multiple off track excursions will generally end your day, emergencies on track may result in the session immediately being ended. Flags On-Course: PLEASE NOTE DOUBLE YELLO FLAGS MAY BE USED AND WILL BE DISCUSSED AT DURING DRIVERS MEETINGS ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. 6
