1 Volume 52 - Issue 5 May, 2018 Air Capital Corvette Club Newsletter Message from the Prez... March dates to remember 5/5 Cinco De Mayo 5/13 Mother s Day 5/19 Armed Forces Day 5/28 Memorial Day Birthstone: Emerald Birth Signs: Flower: Lily of the Valley & Hawthorn We are always thrilled with the wonderful meal served at Carolyn s Café in Arlington, KS. They close the restaurant down just for us and with smiles and enthusiasm they serve us a family style buffet dinner with wonderful deserts. Please don t forget to thank Gene Brown who arranged this drive and eat. There was a little confusion this year for the Newton Prom. At first we were told that they didn t need us to drive the special needs children this year. Then we were asked last minute to provide rides. When we asked for more details how many cars do they need, where do we pick up the kids, etc. they said that the children were told to find their own rides this year. I wanted to thank those of you who stepped up at the last minute to volunteer only to be told it was off again. The person from Newton High School who used to coordinate the Prom rides isn t there anymore and no one wanted to take care of it. But next year they are asking us to help, and will give us plenty of notice and details up front. Again, sorry for the confusion. There were a few couples who made the trip to Hot Springs, AR this year. Don t miss the meeting to find out the details of how it went. Continued on Page 2 Page 1
