10 PRESIDENT S MESSAGE Since the announcement of my election as President I have been struck by the number of Members sending me their best wishes and congratulations. I am looking forward to the challenges and I have been fortunate to come to the office with a great team at TOPO led by Dave and a strong platform built by Tim, Tony and Roger. Our Club has prospered over the years and been largely successful in maintaining the traditions and moving with the times. The style of many of our individual events has endured despite the significant increase in legislation but sometimes there has to be change. I remember standing at Old Hall in the late 80s listening to a group of spectators moaning about the 50s Sports Car Race because they only wanted to watch Pre-war cars. More recently we have introduced new grids to our Meetings as a financial measure to offset some of the costs of our Race programmes and to give enjoyment to Competitors and the viewing public. I realise that we can never please all of our Members all of the time, but I appreciate the delicate balance of tradition and change and I will do my best to measure the mixture wisely. During my time on Committee I have enjoyed working on the various teams and Eligibility has been a special pleasure. When my old friend Ian Hall laid the foundations for this structure he could not have done a better job. We talked in 2016 about the current state of play and the far reaching effect of eligibility classification on the Club. The Eligibility Sub-Committee is in safe hands going forward and my next personal involvement will be submitting a Buff Form application for my own GN after the long rebuild. Over the last few seasons we have had some accidents at Race Meetings that were avoidable. The Club has moved decisively on driving standards and the acceptable level of car preparation. I want to emphasise the importance of car preparation and encourage all Competitors in every discipline to put the time in before a Meeting so that they can safely enjoy a good days sport. Our Scrutineering Team is there for a purpose so help them to help you by presenting the car in a suitable condition with (Lorna Bullett) all of the necessary wire locking, catch tanks and rain lights where required. I always feel angry with myself if I have to put a spanner on any of my cars during an event and checking for any fluid leakage between runs should be a way of life for all of us. When I first joined the Club I attended a number of local meets in neighbouring counties, always enjoying the late evening run home with no hood and the warmth of the engine flowing into the transmission tunnel. Although I hope to see many of you at our various Race and Speed Meetings, I want to start going to Pub Meetings again and I hope to do one a month, making 36 in all if I last that long as your President! The VSCC has attracted some outstanding Members over the years not solely for their taste in motor cars. Many Members lead successful professional lives and I want to encourage them to contribute their skill and experience where practically possible for the good of the Club. There are some challenges ahead for the Club and I hope we can harness some of the Members expertise. I am aware that our peculiar interest in old cars has become more expensive over the last few years. The introduction of new young Members is therefore more difficult especially if they are not from VSCC families. Recently I heard about two examples where the new young Members had persuaded their parents to come and have a look and in one case the family have already purchased a suitable car. What a result! Enjoy your motoring this month and I look forward to meeting old and new friends in the coming year. Geoff Smith 10

11 NEWS & VIEWS FROM THE OLD POST OFFICE Dear Club Members, Believe it or not it will soon be Easter! Is it just me or does it not seem that long ago that we were busy wrapping presents to go under the tree? I often wonder if The Old Post Office in Chipping Norton has some form of mysterious time continuum so that you enter the building at the beginning of January and when you leave the Office at the end of the day it is already the early April. Perhaps not, but time really does seem to fly and I guess that is because we run such a busy and active Club. This must be very healthy for all concerned. Certainly, the End of Year Accounts for 2016 and the new Annual Report, both of which will be discussed at the AGM, show a much-improved situation on many fronts from a Club that has regained its solid foundations and is poised to go from strength to strength. Therefore, a perfect time for us to welcome a new President. The events calendar is now in full swing. Since my last message we held the eagerly anticipated Pomeroy Trophy which, because of falling numbers year on year, was very much on life support. In fact, discussions were held last year at Committee level on whether we should call time on the event as it appeared to have diminishing appeal to most Competitors. However, such is the positive approach of your Committee it was decided that we should do all that we reasonably could to reignite interest and thus improve numbers. Consequently, after discussions with the circuit staffs at Silverstone, agreement was reached to run the event on the Grand Prix Circuit with special thanks to Stuart Pringle and his team who helped ensure that this remained financially viable. This was one of many notable changes, all of which resulted in starters on the day rising from 67 in 2016 to an amazing 138 this year. Therefore, we had not only managed to break the 100 threshold but also returned a very small financial surplus for the first time in many years. On the day it was a typically murky start, but spirits were high with an excellent atmosphere thanks to the impressive number of Club Members who had come out to support the event and spectate no doubt taking advantage of the exclusive Members Lounge. There are changes that we need to make to improve the smooth running of the event on the day and rest assured this will be done for next year, as we need to ensure that this was not a one trick wonder! Following the Pom we held the Exmoor Fringe Trial in unusually dry conditions resulting in some very good scores despite the inherently challenging nature of the hills. Our thanks to Graham White and his local team for yet another sterling Trial in a truly beautiful part of the country. The following weekend we found ourselves in Derbyshire for the John Harris Trial. This time, whilst the weather on the day was fine, the conditions leading up to the weekend had been very, very inclement and so the hills were particularly wet and muddy. The local team, led on the day by Steve Lister and Barry Smith did an exceptional job to keep everyone moving and in the right frame of mind. On returning to Ashover Parish Hall to hand in their scorecards, many of the Competitors were covered from head to foot in mud, but all had a smile on their face and remarked that the hills were all but perfect. Very well done to Steve and Barry and your local team. A well-earned weekend off followed and in a couple of days (as I write this) we will head off to Herefordshire for a 2-day Trial in and around Much Marcle. Sadly, this comes so soon after the tragic news of the passing of Club Member Derek Howard-Orchard, the Organiser of our Cotswold Trial for many years and one of the nicest people you could ever have pleasure of meeting. Advance tickets are now available for all ticketed Club events so please help support the VSCC and buy your tickets in advance so that we share a little in the gate revenue. We have rolled forward the free programme offer for Members attending our Race Meetings and these can be claimed from the Club Meeting Point on production of your 2017 Membership Card. Finally, I must end with an apology for the late delivery of the March Newsletter and Spring Bulletin last month, which unfortunately was due to unavoidable circumstances. I sincerely hope that this did not cause you too much inconvenience. Happy Easter! Dave Salmon 11

12 COMMITTEE NOTES February Committee Minutes With two minor amendments, including the agreement to send the Committee house rules to the candidates standing for election this year, the minutes of the last meeting were approved. The Committee approved a proposed change to the Don Grose Trophy from 2017 onwards so that all events scored the same number of points. The invitation to the First Pan-European Conference of the Society of Automotive Historians in Britain would be passed to the Head Librarian. Concern was raised that the VSCC was very rarely, if at all, mentioned in the FBHVC and the President confirmed that he had raised this with the Chairman of the Federation and would do so again. The President referred to a car fire at the New Year Driving Tests and that the incident reinforced the need for first on the scene training. It was agreed that the Club should prepare a response to the Vnuk Consultation and if possible strike a common line with the MSA, LASA and FBHVC. The Treasurer explained why the End of Year Accounts had been separated from the Annual Report this year and he thanked the Chairs of the Sub-Committee for their input. It was suggested that next year the Report might include thumbnail photos of the Directors. The Treasurer confirmed that the Club was reviewing the level of audit undertaken to ensure that it remained appropriate given all of the changes to financial reporting standards and our own better internal fiscal processes. However, the Committee were assured that this would not simply be a cost saving exercise as it remained as important as ever to demonstrate to Members that the Club s finances were correctly administered and accounted for. The 2016 End of Year Accounts were proposed and approved. The draft budget for 2017 was presented and confirmed to be prudent and exact. Confirmation was sought that the Club was receiving a Small Business Rate Reduction and the Secretary agreed to check and confirm. The Secretary also confirmed that funds had been set aside for staff training. The budget was proposed and approved. It was agreed that papers for Directors residing in Scotland would be sent by Royal Mail Next Day Delivery as the standard post was too slow. A paper from the Committee Review Working Group had been circulated and discussed. The paper recommended that the Past, Past President remained on Committee but only attended meeting on request. A similar recommendation was made for the Editor, but it was agreed that the current incumbent should continue to attend meetings for as long as they wished to do so. The Treasurer s post would fall vacant on change of President and the intention was to appoint from the elected Directors and not backfill. It was proposed that over time the number of elected Directors should be reduced to 8, which would allow co-opting of Members with particular skills required for specific projects. There was concern that this would retain a sufficient number for roles such as Duty Director, but it was considered that such appointments could be filled by past Directors to help swell the numbers. An alternative two-tier Committee structure was suggested and it was agreed that a brief paper outlining this in more detail should be produced. It was noted that post April there were plans to change the structure of the monthly meeting. There followed a vote of acceptance of the Committee Working Group s paper, which was carried by the majority. The minutes of the last Race Sub-Committee had been circulated and were noted. A paper had also been circulated proposing that the number of events counting towards the Annual Aggregate Trophies be reviewed because the Club now held significantly more events each year and so the demands were becoming unreasonable. It was suggested that a short presentation after the formal business of the AGM would be helpful and would engage the Members in the debate. A paper summarising the results of the Membership Survey had been circulated and the key highlights were discussed. It was agreed that these should be shared with the Members in the form of a brief presentation after the AGM. A paper on Honorary Life Membership had been circulated and it was agreed that offers of Honorary Life Membership should remain the preserve of Committee but the 12

13 criteria should be more demanding. The paper also recommended the introduction of a medal of merit, but concern was expressed on the additional administrative burden this would place on the staff. Accordingly, it was agreed that this matter should be revisited after the AGM. 33 new Members were proposed and elected. The minutes of the January Eligibility Sub-Committee had been circulated and were noted. It was confirmed that the ESC were continuing work on a paper for Committee s approval in the Spring on the PVT List. Online Buff Forms remained work in progress. It was agreed that the advent of Formula Vintage should not result in the removal of any reference to Spring Start. Discussion followed on a proposal from the Driving Test Sub-Committee to introduce a Champagne Class at some Driving Tests removing the need for any eligibility documentation. There were some concerns expressed as Driving Tests were competitive events and so it was agreed that the matter should be discussed in more detail with the Competition Department before proceeding. A desktop review of the Duty Directors concluded the meeting with all of the gaps filled. 17 ELIGIBILITY 15 RACING TYRES As many Members will be aware, the 4.50 x 15 Dunlop R5 racing tyre is currently unavailable and there is no information at the moment as to when this might change. This is the tyre used by many of our PVT Austin Seven racing Members and there is no alternative crossply tyre available. It has been agreed, therefore, that in the interim, Members requiring new tyres in this size may use the radial Firestone 145 x 15 F560 tyre as an alternative, subject to individual application by the Member and on the understanding that this relaxation of the Eligibility Rules will be immediately withdrawn once the R5 tyre is back in production. So that a record exists, Members wishing to compete with the Firestone tyre need to apply, individually, to the Eligibility Sub-Committee for consent. Calling All Marshals As a Club we can only offer such a broad range of multi-disciplined events throughout the year with the support of a strong and loyal band of Marshals. To maintain the excellent support the Club enjoys from volunteers we do need a steady flow of new Marshals each year. Therefore, if you can find a few spare weekends this year and would like to be more involved in any of our events or simply wish to give a little back to other Competitors please contact the Competition Department to confirm your availability EVENT ENTRY CRITERIA This year entries for all events will be on a first come basis with the entry confirmed by return. If an entry is received for a car which does not have a Buff Form the entry will be accepted, but it is the Competitor s responsibility to ensure that the Buff Form is submitted to the Eligibility Sub-Committee in good time to be processed before the event closes for entries. It is hoped that the new system will allow Competitors to confirm their own logistical arrangements much sooner. It should also avoid the disappointment of a rejected entry sometimes many weeks after it was submitted. The Competition Department will reserve a limited number of places at each event to ensure that the Club s traditional entry criteria can still be accommodated which should help to safeguard the overarching principles of the VSCC. 17

18 A Portrait of the Vintage Sports-Car Club, Written by Tom Pellow In 1934 a handful of motoring enthusiasts met to establish a club for owners of light cars of not more than 50 value and that were at least three years of age, hoping to hold Trials and other events suitable for such unassuming machinery. Eighty years later the resultant Club has grown to over 7,000 Members, its calendar of events including Race Meetings, Sprints, Hill Climbs, Trials, Navigation Rallies, Autotests and Tours, with their owners competing in such varied vehicles as Austin Sevens and ERAs together with a wide range of sporting cars built from 1905 onwards and particularly those of the 1920s and 1930s. 19 An Open Letter to Competitors Members may be aware that we have had a poor record in terms of oil spillage in the 2016 season, with one particular instance leading to a very serious accident at Mallory Park in September. Our final speed event at Goodwood was subject to long delays from two oil spills, resulting in the curtailment of the second timed runs. This situation is unacceptable; it represents a serious threat to the safety of competitors and to the reputation of the Club. Good preparation is essential in eliminating fluid leaks and we expect all competitors to check and prepare their cars meticulously before bringing them to meetings. This includes, but is not limited to: drain plugs drilled and lock wired, oil pipes checked for tightness and security, vulnerable sump plugs protected, removable oil filters firmly secured, cooling system overflows and crankcase breathers fed into catch tanks of a minimum of 1 litre capacity. Above all it is incumbent upon all competitors to ensure that their cars are in safe condition to compete and that all fixings are tight and the interfaces between components do not leak. Scrutineering will henceforth include more stringent checks on fluid tightness. In addition to the mandatory inspection, cars will be checked for leaks in the assembly area and where space permits, cars will be held in park ferme for inspection following an event. Scrutineers will also make random inspections in the paddock. Therefore, it is the competitor s responsibility to check and monitor the condition of their car throughout the event and immediately address any mechanical issues. In the event of any fluid leak during a meeting the driver will be called to the Clerk of the Course and the offending car may be excluded from the event. Moreover, at the next event the driver attends they will be given a red scrutineering chit at signing-on, this will require the scrutineers to undertake a much more thorough inspection of the car before it is allowed to compete. Persistent offenders will not be accepted for further race or speed meetings. We need all competitors to actively help eliminate this persistent problem to ensure that competing with the VSCC remains fun and as safe as possible. If any clarification or assistance is required, please contact the Chief Executive in the first instance, who will direct your enquiry. Wonderful to see so many Members supporting the event, be they Competitors, Officials and Marshals or Spectators, all enjoying the fun of this unique and iconic event which so encapsulates the ethos of our great Club. So the members of the POM Working Group Tania Brown, Kevin Lee, Alisdaire Lockhart and Ian Standing would like to thank all those involved in the Pomeroy Trophy meeting at Silverstone earlier this year in particular the Club Staff who devised the new Pom, which proved so popular with Competitors. Also, our thanks go to the many Members who volunteered as Officials and Marshals, the 144 Members who entered the event this year and, last but not forgetting, to Guy Spollon for bringing the first Pom winner to grace the event this year. No promises yet, but from the level of support the event has attracted this year any thoughts of the last night of the Pom have been comprehensively squashed and the new Pom is here to stay yippee! 27 Midlands Air Ambulance Charity s Air25 Year of Celebration Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, which covers Gloucestershire, celebrated 25 years of its lifesaving service in 2016, commemorating the Air25 anniversary year with a full schedule of events, including a Fireworks Extravaganza organised by the Cheltenham Roundtable for Bonfire Night in November. The charity, which provides a lifesaving air ambulance service to six counties including Gloucestershire, home of the Prescott Speed Hill Climb, has undertaken over 46,000 missions since 1991, including over 5,000 in Gloucestershire alone. While providing a vitally important pre-hospital service to those in urgent need of medical attention, the organisation is entirely reliant on local generous donations from members of the public, and local businesses. Susie Godwin, Gloucestershire fundraising manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, explains: The charity is tremendously proud of what it has achieved over the last 25 years, but none of it would have been possible without the generosity of our supporters, who we hope will continue to support us for the next 25 years. To find out more about how you can help to fund a Midlands Air Ambulance Charity mission, please visit: or call the charity on

30 LIBRARY & INFORMATION RECENT ACQUISITIONS In the course of exchanging correspondence with Stuart Cooke on the subject of Bullnose Morris OHV conversions, he offered us a document which he thought would be of interest. On receipt it turned out to be quite fascinating: Investigation into the Development of German Grand Prix Racing Cars between 1934 & 1939 (Including a Description of the Mercedes World s Land Speed Record Contender), written by Cameron C Earl for the British Intelligence Objectives Sub-Committee in The sheer volume of detailed information provided by the likes of Uhlenhaut and Eberan is amazing, including for example spring rates, brake lining material, roll-centres, etc. The latest Delage book Delage Champion du Monde by Daniel Cabart and Christophe Pund is compulsory reading for all enthusiasts of the marque. The design, development, racing history and subsequent life stories of the S 8 cars is superbly documented in English and French, with many illustrations, copies of contemporary test data reports and technical instructions. OREP Editions, ISBN: , E A gem of a book found amongst a recent donation is Routes des Alpes. The Motorist s Guide to the Great French Alpine Roads. Written by Cecil Waterslow and published in the late 20s by The Autocar, the 16 chapters each covers an Alpine route described in beautifully clear descriptive language. One feels that many of the locations may not have changed much over the years, and would warrant a visit today. Copies of the book are on several dealer s websites. 31 MSA VEHICLE PASSPORT APPLICATION All cars competing in Hill Climbs or Sprints must be presented for scrutineering with a valid Competition Car Log Book/Vehicle Passport or an MSA Recognised Vehicle Identity Document unless the car is currently licensed for use on the public highway and is competing in a road legal condition or is currently used in circuit racing and is entered in an event on an occasional basis only. The onus of proof rests with the competitor The Competition Car Logbooks that were issued and endorsed by the VSCC will not be used any more: from now on competition vehicles in the relevant classes will need to have an MSA Vehicle Passport. Please note that these will no longer be dealt with by the VSCC office. These passports can be completed by the applicant or a scrutineer: however the vehicle must be inspected by an MSA scrutineer in all cases. You cannot complete the form yourself and send it direct to the MSA. The MSA charge for the Vehicle Passport is currently 40 (in 2016). Our VSCC scrutineering team have agreed to complete these passports at an event. Alternatively you may ask a local scrutineer to come and inspect the car elsewhere. Please bear in mind that the inspecting scrutineer may incur travel expenses in these cases. We suggest you discuss and agree any extra payment with the scrutineer before arranging their visit. The Application Form The form is available to download from the MSA website Centre/Technical-Car or can be obtained from the MSA Technical Department. You can complete the form in advance of the scrutineer s inspection if you prefer. Alternatively the scrutineer can complete the form himself at the time of or following the inspection. A scrutineer will inspect the vehicle and verify that the form contains all the relevant information. The applicant pays the scrutineer the MSA fee, which is currently 40 (in 2016). Any change to the fee will be notified in the 2017 Blue Book. The scrutineer will give you a receipt which serves as a logbook for the subsequent 30 days. Please retain this receipt as it allows you to compete in an event before the MSA return your completed Vehicle Passport. The scrutineer will send the completed form, fee and receipt to the MSA Technical Department. When you receive your completed Passport from the MSA, please ensure that you sign it. Photographs The Vehicle Passport shows three photographs of the vehicle, a front ¾ view, a rear ¾ view and a view of the engine bay. The Application Form contains examples of these photographs. The photographs can be taken by the inspecting scrutineer or the applicant. For applicants wishing to take their own photos there is some guidance available. 31

There will two routes for the entrants to choose from. The Short Route of approx. 50 miles will suit the slower and less powerful cars; it might also be the route of choice in the event of inclement weather. The two routes are identical up to the planned lunch break at the Rising Sun, one of the most rustic pubs you will ever find. The Long Route of just over 80 miles will suit the faster cars and those with a sense of adventure: it takes in the whole of the wilderness of Bodmin Moor as well as the Coastal & Rural sections. Come down to the West Country and enjoy the fabulous scenery and almost deserted roads of North Cornwall and relive the flavour of how motoring used to be many years ago. 20 Now- The Tour is becoming an established part of an exciting weekend s motoring in Derbyshire and has received excellent feedback from past participants. We have planned a fascinating Tour route through the White Peak district in North Derby-shire for you. A beautiful county in the Spring, the route will take you off the beaten track through parts of the County that you d miss without that local knowledge. It s a day s tour of around 65 miles. We start at Heage Windmill (a 1797 Grade 2 listed working mill) and wind our way across to Hartington (famous for its cheese making) passing places such as the Eccelesbourne heritage railway at Wirksworth, the tramway museum at Crich and the 1904 hill climb at Hazelwood (now a road!). You ll get a comprehensive Tour route plan and guide to steer you on your way: this will give you not only information on the history of the places you ll pass, but also the best places to get suitable refreshment! 37 MSA UPGRADING REQUIREMENTS The MSA has produced revised guidelines on the upgrading process for Race and Speed Marshals along with an upgrading checklist for Marshals and guidance notes on who can sign Personal Record Cards, all of which is available to download on the MSA s website under Marshals then Resource Centre, There are some significant changes to the revised upgrading requirements which you should be aware of and apologies to those that attended the Marshals Training Session at the Pomeroy Trophy Meeting at Silverstone; it was far too small to read on the wall mounted TV screen. I have set it out below for you. The requirements are: RACE AND SPECIALIST* MARSHALS TRAINING MODULES Requirements for upgrades MARSHALLING MATTERS Attendance Signatures Upgrade signatures Training days Trainee to Track X X X Fire Flag- Specialism Basic Marshalling Basic First Aid Incident Report writing Communication Self-assessment Leadership Mentoring Track to Experienced Track X X X X Experienced Track to Post Chief X X I/O X X X Post Chief to Examining 20 Club 2 X X X Post Chief Nomination Experienced Track to Flag X X X Experienced Track to Incident Officer (I/O) X I/O X X X Trainee to Specialist X X X Specialist to Experienced Specialist X X X X X X Experienced Specialist to Examining Specialist 20 Club Nomination 2 X X X X *Specialist covering Assembly, Pits or Start Line Note that the upgrade signatures required for Trainee to Track and Track to Experienced Marshal are now 2. You can see that the MSA tightened-up on upgrade signatures and has set-out four different grades compulsory training requirements for upgrading. What the MSA has also done to assist this requirement is produce for MSA licensed Training Instructors is a set of training presentations covering the different modules which I will use with other licensed trainers in future training days to make sure Club Marshals are equipped for the job and can progress to more experienced roles which only benefits the Club in the long run. 40

38 The aim of the MSA and it has to be the aim of the Club is ensuring that Marshals are of a certain standard and can maintain their grade and there is a ladder whereby more enthusiastic Marshals can progress to higher levels. None of this applies to you if you are not a MSA registered Marshal but I would recommend you take that step as it not only benefits the Club but benefits you too. For completeness as the discipline is different the requirements for Speed Marshals are as follows: SPEED* MARSHALS TRAINING MODULES Requirements for upgrades Attendance Signatures Upgrade signatures Training days Trainee to Speed X X X Fire Flag Basic Speed Marshalling Basic First Aid Incident Report writing Communication Leadership Mentoring Speed to Experienced Speed X X X X Experienced Speed to Speed X X X Post Chief Speed Post Chief to Examining 20 Club 2 X X X X X Speed Marshal Nomination *Speed covering Hill Climbs and Sprints It may seem a bit complicated and in terms of training days it is the prescribed number over a period of two years but any future training day will include a number of the above modules, just as I have been doing with the others in training team in Scotland and indeed we covered at the Pom Training Session. One important point, do you have the right Personal Record Card for your discipline? If not please get in touch with me and we will sort it out. Next month I will outline the signing protocol for signing Personal Record Cards which is much clearer and cover the Marshals Upgrading Checklist if you intend seeking an upgrade and many, in my view, should be coming forward as you are very competent Marshals. 40 VSCC RALLY TEACH-IN Remove the Mystery of Rallying! VSCC Rallying is a tremendous way to enjoy your vintage car. Yet it seems to be surrounded by mystery and a feeling that only intellectuals can fathom the complex instructions. Come to the Rally Teach-In to remove the mystery and have the principles of Rallying broken down into straight forward language. Sunday 21 May at Cawley Hall, Luston, near Leominster, Herefordshire HR6 0DS MR.OS 149: The Club is presenting a wonderful opportunity for Members to learn about VSCC Navigational Rallies. The event takes the form of a one day, practical course, run by experienced Rallyists. The course is aimed at complete beginners, people who have done a few Rallies and Members returning to Rallying who feel rusty. Participants are promised an enjoyable day which will prepare them to enter future VSCC Rallies with confidence. If possible participants should attend in pairs (Driver and Navigator) but this is not essential, with a car (ideally the one they plan to Rally but doesn t have to be a modern car would be ok). The course will consist of theory sessions in the morning followed by a practical Navigational Run after lunch putting into practise things learnt in the morning. Participants will receive a Rally Pack containing all the notes, maps needed for the day. Tea, coffee, juice, biscuits and lunch are also included. The course will be introduced by Jenny Lees (Chair of the Rally Sub- Committee) while instruction will be from course presenters Martin Jelley (experienced Driver, Navigator and Rally Organiser) and Dood Pearce (ace Navigator and experienced Rally Organiser). The Rally Teach-In will cost per participant. For further details contact Martin Jelley on or m.jelley145@btinternet.com To book a place on the course please contact Samantha Haldane (Competition Administrator) on or samantha.haldane@vscc.co.uk 43

56 Based in the UK, Power Maxed is an Automotive Product Manufacturer, dispatching to anywhere in the world. Power Maxed is a revolutionary new range of automotive products. Our only aim is to be the best, nothing comes before that. We have developed our products not just to be better than others but to be the best they can be. As far as we are concerned only quality counts and once you have tried Power Maxed you won t want to use anything else. When we make a product only the very best is good enough, that means we source and use the very best ingredients and then with years of experience behind us we blend them to what we believe to be the best recipe so you end up with the results you expect at a price you can afford. After all, if a product is cheap and it doesn t do the job you want it to do surely you can t get more expensive than that!? We are that confident that ours will do the job you want it to do we offer a MONEY BACK GUARANTEE on all of our products, if you are not happy with the results simply send it us back along with your receipt and we will give you your money back. Some companies go overboard on their packaging investing a lot of money to make it look nice, only for you to be disappointed with the results of the product. We have done enough to make our packaging vibrant and to stand out but again quality comes first, we use the best available trigger sprays with line and mist spray with fluorinated bottles to stop panelling (misshaping) and we know you will not be disappointed with the results of the product as that s where we would rather the money went, into making the product the very best it can be. Many of our products in the valet range are concentrated creating extreme value for money with items such as our Traffic Film Remover which you can dilute up to 50-1 so the 5L will make 250 litres of ready to use product. These products before coming to market have all been tested and used by some of the world s best race teams to make sure they live up to ours and their demanding requirements.
